THE FOURTH WEEK IN ADVENT - WEDNESDAYLESSON: ISAIAH 40:1-11They said to him then, “Who are you? Let us have an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord', as the prophet Isaiah said.” John 1:22, 23This is the second part of John's confession in which he confesses who he is after denying any suggestion of being Christ, Elijah, or a prophet. What he means to say is: “Your salvation is much closer than the presence of any prophet might suggest; do not look so far back into another age that is past. The Lord of all the prophets is here Himself; there is no need of a prophet here. I am this Lord's forerunner. He is following in my footsteps. I am not prophesying about Him in the capacity of a prophet, but I am crying out as His forerunner, to make room for Him and a way for Him, so that He may enter in.I do not say, “Behold, He is about to come,” like the prophets, but I say, “Behold, He is coming and is here. I am not speaking words about Him, but am pointing to Him with my finger, just as Isaiah proclaimed long beforehand that such a cry would arise in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord (Isaiah 40:3). That is who I am, and not a prophet. Therefore, stand aside; make room and let the Lord Himself walk among you personally, and look for no more prophecies concerning Him.”SL.XI.106, 24AE 75,178PRAYER: We thank you, O Lord, for the full and complete testimony of your prophets concerning our Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation, a testimony for us to accept in full confidence and assurance. Amen.

10The prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be given to you searched and enquired about this rescue. 11They asked what sort of time it would be, the time that the Messiah's spirit within them was indicating when speaking of the Messiah's sufferings and subsequent glory. 12It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, when they were ministering these things – things which have now been announced to you by the holy spirit who was sent from heaven, through those who preached the good news to you. The angels long to gaze on these things! 13So fasten your belts – the belts of your minds! Keep yourselves under control. Set your hope completely on the grace that will be given you when Jesus the Messiah is revealed. 14As children of obedience, don't be squashed into the shape of the passions you used to indulge when you were still in ignorance. 15Rather, just as the one who called you is holy, so be holy yourselves, in every aspect of behaviour. 16It is written, you see, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.' Suddenly - The Promise Of SuddenlyThe promise of suddenly. And here it is… I’m just gonna lay it out, so you know where I’m going… The promise of suddenly is… Jesus promises He will return suddenly.1. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.Revelation 22:12 “Look, I am coming soon! Live ReadyWe need to live ready.Mark 13:32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”Matthew 24:42 “Keep watch”Matthew 24:44 “Be ready”Mark 13:33 “Take heed, watch and pray” Take heed = to look at, gaze at, understand1. Do Jesus BusinessDo business until I return Luke 19:13 Acts 1:10-11They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”1. BE A WITNESS2. BE A SERVANT3. BE A GIVER4. BE A LOVER2. Stay AlertMark 13:35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming— in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”Ephesians 5:14"Wake up, "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.” “Because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but,” “Understand what the Lord's will is.” 1 Peter 4:7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.Matthew 25:11 ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’Matthew 25:12-13 But he answered, truly, I say to you, I do not know you. Elisha said, “Give it to the people and let them eat.” 43But his servant said, “How can I set this before a hundred people?” So he repeated, “Give it to the people and let them eat, for thus says the Lord, ‘They shall eat and have some left.’ ” 44He set it before them, they ate, and had some left, according to the word of the Lord.PsalmPsalm 145:10-1810All your works shall praise | you, O Lord,  and your faithful | ones shall bless you. 11They shall tell of the glory | of your kingdom  and speak | of your power, 12that all people may know | of your power  and the glorious splendor | of your kingdom. 13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; your dominion endures through- | out all ages.  You, Lord, are faithful in all your words, and loving in | all your works. R 14The Lord upholds all | those who fall  and lifts up those who | are bowed down. 15The eyes of all wait upon | you, O Lord,  and you give them their food | in due season. 16You open | wide your hand  and satisfy the desire of every | living thing. 17You are righteous in | all your ways  and loving in | all your works. 18You are near to all who | call upon you,  to all who call up- | on you faithfully. RSecond ReadingEphesians 3:14-2114For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. 16I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, 17and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. 18I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.  20Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.GospelJohn 6:1-211Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, also called the Sea of Tiberias. 2A large crowd kept following him, because they saw the signs that he was doing for the sick. 3Jesus went up the mountain and sat down there with his disciples. 4Now the Passover, the festival of the Jews, was near. 5When he looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread for these people to eat?” 6He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he was going to do. 7Philip answered him, “Six months’ wages would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little.” 8One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, 9“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But what are they among so many people?” 10Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was a great deal of grass in the place; so they sat down, about five thousand in all. 11Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted. 12When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, “Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost.” 13So they gathered them up, and from the fragments of the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten, they filled twelve baskets. 14When the people saw the sign that he had done, they began to say, “This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world.”  15When Jesus realized that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, he withdrew again to the mountain by himself.  16When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, 17got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. 19When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were terrified. 20But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” 21Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land toward which they were going.

Mile 6 - THE WORD OF TRIUMPH, Seven Mile Miracle 05.20.18 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” John 19:30 Exodus 14:10-16 10As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. 11They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” 13Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” ALL YOUR SETBACKS ARE SETUPS. When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." Exodus 13:17 BEFORE GOD CAN WALK YOU INTO THE PROMISE, HE HAS TO WALK YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS! GOD IS MORE FOCUSED ON ME BECOMING THE RIGHT PERSON THAN TAKING ME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. GOD DOESN’T WANT US TO CHANGE OUR MINDS TO GO BACK, HE WANTS US TO CHANGE OUR MINDS TO MOVE FORWARD! 13Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” 15Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. BEFORE GOD COULD TAKE THEM TO A NEW PLACE HE HAD TO GIVE THEM A NEW MINDSET! BEFORE THEY COULD FIGHT FOR THEIR PROMISE… God Had To Get Them Place Where In Faith Heart Minds They... THEY HAD TO KNOW WHO THEY WERE … KNOW WHO THEIR GOD WAS. GOD IS SAYING, “YOU’VE GOT TO MOVE ON… YOU CAN’T THINK WAY THOUGHT ANYMORE” GOD PUT THEM INTO AN IMPOSSIBLE SITUATION DESIGNED TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS THE ISRAELITES WERE OUT OF EGYPT, BUT THEY WEREN’T OVER EGYPT. GOD GOT THEM OUT OF EGYPT, NOW HE HAD TO GET EGYPT OUT OF THEM! Real Triumph In The Story... 16Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. Really The Real Triumph… 30And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.

In today's message, Pastor Scott preaches about knowing "where" we are based on what is in our hearts. Follow along using Pastor Scott's outline below. Please help us spread the good news by sharing it with others! You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when Iím far away. ~Psalms 139:2 But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: ~John 1:12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name ~John 1:12 7The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. 9Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair. 10They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. 11They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. 12How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. 13Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Donít let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. 14May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. ~Psalms 19:7-14 I meditate on your age-old regulations; O LORD, they comfort me. ~Psalms 119:52 O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple. ~Psalms 48:9

Work for piano by Beethoven performed by Seymour Lipkin on October 30, 2005 and work for piano trio by Beethoven performed by the Eroica Trio on September 14, 2014.Beethoven: Variations on an original theme in f Major, Op. 34Beethoven: Piano Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 11They say variety is the spice of life. It’s also a major theme in the music of Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven seems to have never met a theme he couldn't work with—whether he wrote it himself, or borrowed it, from classical or popular music. In the first piece on our podcast—the Variations on an original theme, opus 34—Beethoven penned the theme, as well as the variations that follow. Each of the six variations is in a different key—a novel feature for the time.Next up is Beethoven’s piano trio in B-flat Major, opus 11. This piece is a variation, times two. Originally composed for a trio of clarinet, cello, and piano, Beethoven later created a “variation” of the work for the more traditional piano trio: violin, cello, and piano—which is the version we’ll hear, performed by the Eroica Trio. But the variations don’t stop there. The final movement of the piece is in the form of a “theme and variations,” based on a tune from an opera by Joseph Weigl, a tune so popular, in its day, that is could be heard throughout the streets of Vienna.
