The rapid advancement of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has ushered in a new era of technological innovation, offering unprecedented capabilities in content creation, problem-solving, and dare we say decision-making. However, this transformative technology also presents complex ethical challenges that must be navigated with utmost care and responsibility. As GenAI systems become increasingly integrated into various aspects of our lives, fostering consumer trust rises in importance. Organizations are thus being asked to prioritize transparency, accountability, and ethical governance to ensure GenAI is developed and deployed in alignment with societal values and expectations. In this PodChats for FutureCIO, we cover key topics that are coming to the fore in the race to harness the value of AI technology without losing our humanity in the process.Proactive measures, such as mitigating biases, protecting user privacy, and engaging diverse stakeholders, are crucial to building public confidence and maintaining the integrity of these powerful technologies. By embracing ethical principles and establishing robust frameworks, we can harness the immense potential of GenAI while safeguarding the well-being of individuals and communities.Helping us explore the ethical boundaries of GenAI is Philip Madgwick, Regional Vice President, Asia, Alteryx.Transparency: How can we ensure transparency in our genAI systems to build trust with consumers?Data Privacy: What measures are in place to protect consumer data used by genAI technologies?Bias and Fairness: How do we address potential biases in genAI algorithms to ensure fairness across diverse Asian demographics?Regulatory Compliance: Are our genAI practices compliant with Asia's varying data protection and privacy laws?Ethical Standards: What ethical standards guide the development and deployment of our genAI solutions?Accountability: Who is accountable for decisions made by genAI systems, and how is this communicated to consumers?Security Measures: What security measures are implemented to safeguard genAI systems from misuse or malicious attacks?Cultural Sensitivity: How do we ensure our genAI applications are culturally sensitive and respectful of Asian values?Innovation vs. Ethics: How do we balance the drive for innovation with ethical considerations in the use of genAI?Consumer Education: How do we educate consumers about the benefits and risks of genAI?Finally, what is your advice for enterprises looking to deploy genAI to reduce risk and improve success in adopting/benefiting in the use of the technology?

We ushered 2020 out the door and washed our hands of it. Of course, we sanitized them too, in order to welcome 2021 with open arms and hopeful hearts. Some of us jumped right in with plans and goals to start the year out right and prove that “we got this”. Others of us, feeling more battered by the ups, downs and uncertainties of the past year, are taking it slower. We are taking one small step at a time and seeing how it goes. No matter how you started your January, now is a good time to reflect on the last few weeks to see how you are feeling and make plans for moving forward. When consulting with a client, a dietitian asks questions, assesses how things are going and helps to set goals for the weeks ahead. In our training we were taught to take notes with the old school acronym, SOAP, during these meetings. S: Subjective finding - What the client reports, how they feel. O: Objective findings – Things that can be measured like lab work and blood pressure. A: Assessment – Compare how they feel with their measured results and together develop a plan.P: Plan – Come up with new or revamped goals and set up a follow up visit to do it all again… listen, assess, plan. This is not a “one and done” scenario. We meet with you on a regular basis and ask more questions, assess your progress and help you to tweak your goals because this is where the real life comes in. We all know what happens to “the best laid plans”. We do all this planning and it’s supposed to work out perfectly, and inevitably life happens, and our plans can get derailed! Some of you check in with me, weekly, monthly or as needed. Others feel comfortable checking in with yourself monthly or even just once a year when you get that feeling to assess your life goals and see if you should be tweaking them. If you are listening to me today, it is a good time to assess how your year has started and get it back on track if it has already veered off. Here are 5 tips to help you. Tip 1: Success leaves clues, track your evidence? If you track or log your accomplishments, you can look back over time and see what is working well and where you need to tweak your goals. Tip 2: Pull in Accountability –Who is holding you accountable to your goals? We can make excuses to ourselves but most of us care if other people are proud of our efforts. Tip 3: Give yourself permission to screw up – if you have a list of things you would like to accomplish in a day and you only get to a few of them, don’t beat yourself up. Give yourself accolades for the things you did manage to do! The day was not a failure it just had room for improvement. Tip 4: Assess your needs for referrals – If you feel like you are overwhelmed, and anxiety is overtaking your life it might be time to pull in a professional! I have therapy resources that I trust and would be happy to share. It may also be time to get labs checked or seek other specialists. Reach out on my website at healthaccountabilitycoach.com and I promise to get you connected! Tip 5: Celebrate along the way –Make sure to celebrate your wins! If the journey is never fun what is the motivation to continue? Chose ways to celebrate that don’t clash with your goals. Plan a date night or hit a salon or just yell “I did it”. If you struggle to celebrate your own success… pull in that accountability team to celebrate with you … your outside resources will remind you when it’s time to celebrate!Resources:www.healthaccountabilitycoach.comwww.facebook.com/houselifestylesIG: @houselifestyles

4 Steps To Regaining Your Lost Momentum In the week's episode, I discuss why it's 100% normal that you have lost momentum. Plus, I give you a proven four-step strategy for creating positive momentum. You're going to love it. First, let's touch on the four common reasons people lose momentum. 1. Broken Promises: Breaking promises to yourself destroys self-belief and builds negative momentum Chapter 8 of The Overweight Mind is titled "What You Do In The Dark" ~ What you do when no-one is watching either builds or destroys momentum. 2. Lack of Accountability: Who will ever know? You WILL and truth be told that is all that matters because that is what destroys your belief that the process will work. 3. You Don't Believe In Yourself: You've broken promises to yourself so many times that you no longer believe your on BS. 4. It's Too Hard: You have convinced yourself it will be hard, and humans avoid things that we perceive as difficult or hard. Now onto the four-step strategy. 4 Steps To Creating Positive Momentum: 1. Public Declaration: You need to tell everyone, and I mean everyone what you are doing. The more people you tell what you're doing, the less likely you will be to quit. 2. Accountability: This can't be your friends. Your friends are just as lazy and unmotivated as you are. Let's face it. We are who we hang around. If your friends were strong enough to motivate, inspire, or lead you, they would have already done it, and you wouldn't be where you are. 3. The Decision: Decided you're with it! 4. Action: You must take simple and consistent actions that build positive momentum. When you defer action, the likelihood of you actually doing what you said you were going to do drops by 87.36% because you stay on the someday hamster wheel. Gordon Tredgold Show Notes Gordon Tredgold has worked for over 25 years in senior leadership positions, successfully delivering $100m projects, running $300m departments, and leading staff teams of 1000. He has helped companies reduce costs by $350m, increase performance by 50-500%, and helped entrepreneurs triple their revenue in just 12 months. Now Gordon speaks, writes, and consults on leadership and business, he has written 3 books; over 1200 articles; he contributes to Entrepreneur, Inc. Magazine, Business Insider, Fortune, and Addicted 2Success; and he is also a visiting professor at Staffordshire University in the UK. Most passionate about What I’m most passionate about is helping people. I think that everybody is capable of doing so much more. The best belief comes when you have a plan that you understand and you can believe in. I have a background in mathematics; I’ve run large programs, I’ve run large projects. I’m very good at planning and solutions. I don’t like the word ‘coach’ for myself. Coaching is about helping people to finding the solution by themselves. I’m more of an advisor. If I work with someone, I’ll give them the best advice. If we know the answer, why not help people and tell them? It’s great to have a plan, but the issue is to focus on the right goals. Gordon’s FAST model Gordon developed a process based on understanding failures and their causes. I found that things fail because of 4 reasons: A lack of Focus A lack of Accountability A lack of Simplicity A lack of Transparency Focus = what, Accountability = Who, Simplicity = How, and Transparency = How far we have to go. Who are Gordon’s customers? This is an area I’m struggling with. There are three groups that I work with: I can work with corporations, helping them putting the right leadership and then drive the project forward. I can work with entrepreneurs to help them with their businesses. And I like to work with young leaders, help them build their leadership. If you’re not clear about the offering to each group, you create confusion, and confused customers go elsewhere. I want to help all three groups; while according to my own strategy and advice, I should pick one. But the problem with being a consultant is that they often don’t follow their own advice. Gordon’s best advice about approaching customers We should look at our business as our customers’ business. Not ours. A lot of companies think the communication with your customers should be based on: Connect – Communicate – Close, while the right way to approach your customers is Connect – Converse – Convert. Make a connection with your customers. Today, it is well known that customers need to know, like, and trust your company in order to buy from you. If you approach your customers’ generically, they will feel you don’t really know them. You need to pitch the right customers with the right message. Gordon managed to book his first Ted talk within 42 hours of approaching the right person with the most relevant message for them. No matter how good a product you think you have, we still need to reach out to the client. We have to ask! Be clear about what you want. Be clear about what your offer. Be clear about making it personal for them. But then, ask!!! If you don’t do that, you leave business on the table. Biggest failure with a customer It was last year, when I decided to do my 3000 cold calls challenge and not only did I not know who to talk to, I also didn’t know what to tell them. The most important thing to succeed in business is the ability to speak up and ask your customers what they want. At the beginning, I listened to people that said you need to share the ‘what’ but not the ‘how’. A lot of people say you shouldn’t give content for free. Biggest success due to the right customer approach Closing the Ted Talk within 42 hours. It was a...

126 | Emotional Distress Syndrome Emotional Distress Syndrome Emotional Distress Syndrome, discovered and coined my James Ochoa himself. James had training working with people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In time he saw similarities in some of his clients and the people with PTSD with one exception. For some, it wasn’t going away. Some of his clients, were not getting better in the way people with PSTD generally did. These clients of his suffered from the exact same thing: Chronic breakdowns Lack of self-worth They felt bullied They were all misunderstood He determined that for these people he would have to rebuild their internal sense of self. EDS is manageable and treatable thanks to the work James is doing. Coaching Session James has difficulty being consistent with singular systems. He tries many things such as post-it notes, phone apps, etc. He prefers to write things down. Currently has four systems and he is not able to follow through with any of them. He finds himself not having enough time. Eric has James scrounge up a pen and paper to write the following A Accountability Who are you accountable to? T Timers Timing tasks makes you more accountable and keep you focused Make predictions as to how long a task will take R Reminders Include the why with the what I Inputs To do lists, calendar, email, voice mail, pile#1 Pile#2…. P PlanningProcessProcesses Streamline and improve. Evaluate what works and what does not work James was excited and eager to begin using this system when he left the show.   About James Ochoa James Ochoa is on a mission. In a way he always has been. He was born the seventh of eight children in Houston, Texas and almost immediately began to feel the faint hum that all ADHD sufferers feel. It would be safe to say that his journey to find answers for his issues began as early as is humanly possible. Then, at the age of four, he had a traumatic accident that would alter his life forever. While playing on his parent’s car, he fell, hitting his head on the concrete. After the doctors examined him they were not hopeful, and everyone prepared for the worst. While in the hospital, James had what he describes as his first spiritual experience, one that he can still recall with great clarity and emotion. His father had been in Vietnam working a construction job, and he took a leave from his contract to come visit James in the pediatric ward of their local hospital. As his father walked toward him, James remembers seeing a blue orb-like structure above his bed. In his mind, this was a sign and he knew it immediately. His father didn’t see the blue orb, of course, but James remembers that he was stunned to hear James announce, “Dad, I’m not gonna die. I’m here for a reason.” As it turned out, many decades would pass before James truly understood what that moment and that proclamation meant. In fact, it mostly eluded him until the summer of 1989 when he was working at an ADHD summer program for kids. “It was total chaos,” he says. “But the lights and intrigue that these kids came to the table with was like…Oh my God, they’re brilliant and we’re not seeing it.” He immediately recognized his calling and resolved to spend his life trying to find answers for himself and others. For almost two decades, now, he has done just that. His work with patients and extensive personal study of the neuroscience of ADHD has allowed him to find answers that work. His new book Focused Forward: Navigating the Storms of Adult ADHD is just the latest mile on a many-long miles journey he is on. His discoveries and success in his own life and with his patients have made him a much in demand speaker these days. James lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, Edie. They have two sons, Gabe, 25, and Jules, 20.
