Adam Roberge is on a tear. By my count, he's won the past three consecutive races, four out of the past five, plus plenty more to his tally this year alone. Today we'll talk about all the things you might imagine, the two of us racing together and landing in identical spots on consecutive weekends, how he got into cycling, what's happening with the general state of cycling in Canada, and his national championship win this year. We'll talk about the more controversial topics like using logic and game theory (i.e. tactics) to win races, aero socks, and aero bars. That and so much more coming up! EPISODE 109 - Dylan's Quitting YouTube. Dizzle's Retiring from Crits. What Next, Discontinuing the Conti Race King?! What up party people. First off, just wanted to give a big shout to all the folks who came up to me at Nepomuk Narly this past weekend to mention your loyalty to the show, interactions like that are truly what drives us (well at least me anyway) to keep this thing running week after week. Speaking of Nepomuk Narly, if you weren't at the biggest little gravel race in Pisek, ND this past weekend then you definitely missed out on a good time. Not only did they manage to recruit even more big names to show up this year including reigning champ Adam Roberge, Ted and Laura King, the Minnesota hit squad of Inno and Chase, and a bunch of other fast riders from all over, they also just know how to bring the Midwest hospitality in such a unique way. From games and activities for all ages, race distances for anyone and everyone, the kindest host families you can ever imagine, and for the tip of the spear, one heck of a prize purse to boot. So put it on your calendars for next year, July 19th coming in hot. And no, this is not a paid advertisement, I just love this race to death and want y'all to experience the Nepomuk charm as well. Okay so for the show this week, basically Drew drank way too much coffee and brought us on tangents galore the whole episode so you'll just have to hang tight to find out what we really talk about.  Bonk Bros is brought to you each and every week by our proud sponsors. Check out the marginal gains offerings from Silca including their top of the line bike wash product to give your ride the pampering it deserves (code bonkbrosbikewash for 15% off), Dynamic Cyclist and their strength and mobility plans to keep you nimble and sharp on and off the bike (code BONKBROS for 10% off), and our friends from Bolt Skin and Shave who are taking leg shaving for men to new heights with their one of a kind Performance Razor (code BONKBROS15 for 15% off). What up party people! Welcome back to the Bonk Bros podcast. This week we kick things off with MTB Nationals that took place this past weekend in Winter Park, CO. There were some surprising and not-so-surprising results that we cover. None of us were there or even had the chance to catch up with anyone who was and to add chaos to the matter the Flobikes coverage was kinda spotty. So all of our takes are from a birds eye view, mostly looking through Insta feeds and results sheets. After that I get into some breakdown of the Nepomuk Narly 100. What's that, you've never heard of the Nepomuk Narly before? Yeah, neither had I but I'm sure glad I found out about it before race day because this was an experience I will never forget. Not only did I get to spend the first half of the race in the early break with gravel legend Adam Roberge, who by the way is just as class act as they come, but the off-the-bike experience is what truly set this race apart. Pre-race snacks, plenty of neutral aid stations, post-race activities for the whole family including food trucks, train rides, bouncy houses, and a street dance to end the night. Put this one on your calendar folks, big things are coming for the small town of Pisek, ND (Check out Adam Roberge's recap video for more! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOFh2RnzZ9Q). We round out the show with some entertaining listener questions so stick around til the end for that. And please keep those questions coming, they truly add some pleasant color to each episode and we love hearing from y'all. Until we get the Bonk Bros socials going just hop onto the Instagram machine and drop those questions into our DMs @scottmcgilljr @adamsaban6 or @dylanjawnson on Instagram. Alright that's it for the intro, let's get this bonk bros party started!
