This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris enter the world of evil karate to talk about The Karate Kid Part III, which recently celebrated its 35th anniversary, and it's also just in time for the start of the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai.Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita return as Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi, fresh from their trip to Okinawa in The Karate Kid Part II. Instead of going to college, Daniel buys a rundown store on the wrong side of town and tries to open a bonsai store with Mr. Miyagi. Unfortunately for the duo, John Kreese (Martin Kove) is looking for revenge after he was humiliated in The Karate Kid and contacts his millionaire friend Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) to enact an extremely complicated scheme to crush Daniel and Mr. Miyagi under the might of Cobra Kai. The guys talk about the over-the-top Bond villainy of Terry Silver, the surprising amount of mountain rappelling in a karate movie, the legality of a 17-year-old leasing a business in 1980s California, the movie's surprising importance to Cobra Kai, the extremely abbreviated All Valley Tournament and more. You can watch The Karate Kid Part III on Starz or buy/rent it from digital storefronts like Amazon. Hey everybody, COBRA KAI is back!!!!! One of my favorite shows to binge every year, Cobra Kai, has returned with its 5th season on Netflix a couple of days ago. As always, I binged it in a VERY short amount of time (I was done less than 8 hours after the show aired...) and also as always, no matter how many flaws (or not) this show has, I had a BLAST and cannot wait to (hopefully) get more. This is a full SPOILER REVIEW of Cobra Kai - Season 5 so do not listen to this episode unless you've seen the entire season. Enjoy! Cobra Kai - Season 5: Synopsis: Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Terry Silver is expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he's caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.

Martin, Jesse and Rachel share stories about their Cobra Kai experience, including the series' opening scene, and the never-before-released archival footage pulled from the original “Karate Kid” movie vault! Martin recalls what it was like to film the All Valley Tournament footage for the original “Karate Kid” film back in 1984, and how they really captured his now infamous line, “Finish him!” Martin also recounts his hilarious audition for the part of John Kreese. Plus, the Koves discuss Martin's character, John Kreese, the evolution of Billy Zabka's character Johnny Lawrence, and the way “Cobra Kai” introduced Miguel. The Kove family delve into how bullying, depression, and perseverance are depicted in the show, and the lessons learned by overcoming life's challenges through hard work and resilience. Relating to their own personal and professional experience, the Koves share tips and tools on how to target your goals and accomplish your dreams.
Continuing off the events of season three, longtime rivals Johnny Lawrence and Danny LaRusso agree to merge their karate dojos if they have any hopes to beat John Kreese as the new head of Cobra Kai. However, with two conflicting styles, they both struggle to find common ground. Meanwhile, Kreese seeks the aid of longtime ally, and Cobra Kai co-founder, Terry Silver to employ his ruthless methods of teaching in order to make the dojo more formidable than ever. With the 51st All-Valley Tournament, well underway, who will come out on top? In today's episode, I review the fourth season of Cobra Kai on Netflix. How does it stack against the previous seasons? Also, what is up with a particular local card shop in Denver? Listen and find out! Follow the show on social media for future updates, and let me know what you think about the show or what titles you'd want to be reviewed in future episodes. Just in time for Cobra Kai season 3, Kevin and Kornflake take a quick spoiler-free look at seasons 1 and 2! Of course we're longtime Karate Kid fans, so we're waxing on and off about Billy Zabka (not just an 80s bully anymore), Ralph Macchio (who somehow hasn't aged since the first movie), the All Valley Tournament, Golf N' Stuff, Bananarama pancakes (it's a cruel, cruel breakfast), the Facts of Life/Karate Kid connection, and why we're naming a Boston subway station after Hilary Swank. And when you're caught up on all this Cobra Kai/Miyagi-Do action, we recommend a few more shows (about Tasmanian real estate agents, Irish schoolgirls, and crazy kids from Brockton, Massachusetts). Also, we watched a certain new movie on Christmas day, and we have a question about Wonder Woman and Waldenbooks. Everybody’s picking up the pieces after the All-Valley Tournament. Daniel and Robby build a new dojo, while Johnny tears down Hawk and Miguel for their unsportsmanlike conduct. Sam looks to build bridges with Aisha, Carmen tries to reinforce Miguel’s well-being and, as usual, Amanda is the glue holding it all together. Will Kreese’s arrival blow everything up? We pull the fire alarm and hit the ground running.
On their own, Jon Hurwitz and Josh Heald have more-than-impressive track records for launching and furthering well-known film franchises. Heald wrote the comedy classic Hot Tub Time Machine and its hilarious sequel. Meanwhile, Hurwitz (with writing partner Hayden Schlossberg) has written all three Harold & Kumar movies and directed the 2012 installment of the American Pie franchise, American Reunion. Last year, this comedy coalition joined forces to relaunch the original Karate Kid franchise in the form of YouTube Red’s series Cobra Kai, which this time gives the underdog story to original bad guy Johnny Lawrence as he finds himself tormented by a grown and successful Daniel LaRusso. In honor of the All-Valley Tournament from the original Karate Kid, Heald and Hurwitz join this episode to help referee a three-round showdown between big, corporate wines and the plucky upstarts looking to challenge them in their categories. Along the way, they discuss their collegiate bonds, their mutual escapes from the business path, and how drinks sessions with both Ralph Macchio (LaRusso) and Billy Zabka (Lawrence) helped get Cobra Kai off the ground.
