At the bottom of the 8 o'clock hour, we hear from Mission Realty's Clayton Gits -- who offers John an update about the current real estate market.
Joining John at the bottom of the 7 o'clock hour this AM is Clayton Gits of Mission Realty. Clayton discusses the housing market, the drop in interest rates, and -- his podcast!
Founder of Mission Reality Clayton Gits provides an update on the housing market in Richmond.
In 2015, Clayton Gits discovered that he had cancer for the 2nd time. He was led to make a massive change in his real estate business and became determined to figure out how to own a business instead of the business-owning him. What he ultimately discovered is that, for many Real Estate professionals, there is a better way. He has not sold a house since 2017, and today he spends much of his time teaching and coaching other Real Estate professionals how to successfully scale their businesses while also having a life. He doesn't teach theory, he teaches exactly what his real estate company, Mission Realty, does on a daily basis to serve over 500+ families every year. They are on a mission! Clayton Gits is a Richmond native who has been selling real estate since 2005. From day one Clayton knew that he had found his professional passion. Not long after Clayton joined the Real Estate Industry the market began to shift and Clayton shifted right along with it - developing new strategies to help his clients be successful even in a tough real estate market. Clayton now has a fully integrated real estate team of 30+ Realtors, Digital Marketers, and Administrative Assistants to serve their clients' needs. Clayton is an entrepreneur, business coach, husband to wife Stephanie, and father to two daughters. Clayton Gits was running himself ragged working with real estate clients seven days per week. Tired of the grind, he cut his work schedule down to just two days per week. Believe it or not, production and profitability at Mission Realty has never been higher. On today's Real Estate Rockstars with Pat Hiban, Clayton shares why it's better to be working on the business than it is to be working in the business. Plus, Clayton discusses one of his favorite tools for lead generation, the power of personal development, and more. This week we're talking to my mentor, Clayton Gits, the Owner of Mission Realty in Richmond, VA. This man has taught me so much about building a successful BUSINESS that doesn't need you for it to run. He and his team of 28 agents are doing $100+ million in real estate sales per year, and he personally only works 2 hours per week overseeing the business. Crazy! Clayton was awesome enough to lay out his blueprint for Realtors to follow and do the same. Clayton Gits also owns a mortgage company, title company, property management company, real estate investment trust, and a few other businesses. He is a Realtor who has truly figured out how to OWN businesses that are highly profitable without needing to be an operator in those businesses If nothing else, hopefully you learn a new way to setup your real estate business. Hopefully you learn a different way of doing things as a real estate agent. We are further diving into nutrition/wellness AND business here! I sit down with 3 awesome ladies who were all long-time athletes turned pharmaceutical reps turned entrepreneurs. They share their journeys into the pharma world, their experience in it, why they got out, and how the whole process inspired them to do what they do now- help people! If you see the glam life of a pharma rep and wonder if it’s true (the clothes, the cars, the money), it is, to a degree. What is not as easily seen is the daily grind, which ends up being not that glamorous and that’s not to mention the process of questioning what you are actually selling. These 3 ladies keep it real discussing prevention vs. prescription, food vs. medicine, and questioning a better way in general. At this point MOST of us know there is no quick fix, it’s a lifelong, daily decision to live well. We, the people, are in charge of our health, we are the ones responsible. That being said, there is SO much to know, incredible marketing companies with endless budgets (for better and worse) and doctors that only have so much power, find your “healthy advisor team” (doctors, nutritionists, coaches, athletes, enthusiasts, etc.) and keep them close. This is an ongoing conversation:). Highlights: Prevention vs. prescriptions, questioning a better way. Generational lifestyles. Food as fuel. Responsibility and seeking the truth. Pharma reps and their real experience, drug dealers? Jen Stiffler is a Southern California native, D1 scholarship athlete, coach’s wife, Mom to three, CHD warrior advocate. A recovering pharmaceutical rep of 10+ years turned whole food advocate. Founder and CEO of FREEasaMOTHER, where she loves helping Mama’s not just survive but thrive in Motherhood and business. Jen loves helping women create a life of abundance and joy through health and wealth. She enjoys working out, live music, supporting her husband’s team, making memories with her three kids and coaching people to love, live and serve bigger. She’ll share her transformative story from skeptic to all in and how she broke her golden handcuffs in order to be a fully present mother. Also, her journey through two children born with undiagnosed heart defects and how it led her to fix her heart and create a life that prioritized her families hopes and dreams not her employers. @Iamfreeasamother Stephanie Gits is a mom of two beautiful girls Ages 12 and 10 and married to her husband Clayton Gits. She was awarded 12 Club Rookie of the Year Elton Award winner in 2017 (her very first Elton’s). She was nominated for the Elton for 12 Club of the Year in 2018. Jennifer is retired from a successful career in corporate America and for the last 10 years has been a stay-at-home mom with her husband, Ben and two boys, Sutton and Luke. She was Captain of her collegiate field hockey team, top tier in her pharmaceutical sales force and a successful Realtor but none of it compares to the passion and purpose she experiences helping others live healthier, stronger lives. Jennifer’s Juice Plus+ business has created an a five-figure a month income stream that gives her family choices and the option to say “yes” to live life fuller and bigger. When you are happy in your personal life, it reflects on your business as well. Why don’t more leaders invest in personal development? If working on yourself makes you a better leader, why not apply the same principles to your agents as well? Should you train and focus on each agent equally or pour your resources into those that look promising to you? In this episode, Clayton Gits speaks about his experience with personal development and business success. What we feed our mind, soul and body is what we put out to the world. -Clayton Gits Takeaways + Tactics Personal development training for agents is a must. Your level of success will never exceed your level of personal development. Your emotional health, mental state, and motivation are all reflected in the quality of your work. As a leader, you have to give everyone in your team equal opportunity to grow. However, keep in mind that only 1 in 5 people-- maybe less-- will take you up on that offer. In the beginning, we talked about the importance of personal development and how it increases our productivity and impacts our success. Next, we discussed how to nurture agents towards a better version of themselves. We also covered: Why motivation can’t be taught How to hire and fire agents Which people you should surround yourself with What percentage of your revenue should be poured into personal development Make sure the problem is not you. Take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself how you can work on improving yourself every day. When the leader is not motivated enough and doesn’t have a big enough “why?”, it’s impossible to attract people who are motivated and have a positive outlook. Even if you already have a skilled team, you should be constantly leveling up. Otherwise, good agents will leave when they no longer need your help. Guest Bio- Clayton Gits is the owner of Mission Realty, and has over 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. He managed top teams and created his own team in 2011. His approach to real estate is focused on personal development and giving each agent equal opportunity for growth. You can contact Clayton at rentals@missionrealty.com
