Initially considered a cryptid, it's later revealed as a therianthrope, specifically a wereavian. The Owlman's human origins remain elusive, shrouded in mystery, echoing the tale of Vivienne de Tabris from Toussaint, cursed by an unknown creature, resulting in her unborn daughter taking the form of a humanoid oriole on full moon nights. Could the Owlman's story share a similar mysterious origin? That remains undisclosed. But it was only the first of several appearances of the half man and half bird which became known as the Owlman. Avian humanoid hybrids are common in folklore all across the world.
