On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off by chatting about the beautiful weather lately in North Central Texas and Cam's recent trip to a local Renaissance fair. Then, they dive straight into a series of bizarre and fascinating encounters. First, they discuss a chilling story of a tiny 8–10 inch tall man seen sitting on a sleeping girl, followed by a sighting of a small cloaked figure that vanished in a flash of light. Then, they explore a terrifying encounter in Spain involving a massive shadow being, standing 3 to 4 meters tall, that pursued a group of men. Next, a large triangular UFO is spotted in southern Indiana, and in Florida, a towering 7-foot-tall cloaked Owlman is seen. The mystery deepens with reports of a possible undiscovered giant owl species living in the forests near Lake Michigan. Finally, a mother and daughter witness a real-life pixie fleeing a heavy rainstorm. All this and more on this edition of Expanded Perspectives. Welcome to another episode of Expanded Perspectives! In today's show, Kyle kicks things off by sharing his frustration with last-minute science projects, a familiar tale for any parent. Meanwhile, the boys steer clear of the wildfires blazing across the Texas panhandle. As the narrative unfolds, a Montana resident's peaceful mountain abode is disrupted by horrifying screams, leading to a bizarre encounter with a pale humanoid boasting enormous black eyes. Meanwhile, in Bucks County, PA, a resident's routine nighttime check on his dog takes an unexpected turn when he confronts a towering 9-foot-tall upright canine, reportedly documented in a police report. In a twist from central Florida, a woman recounts her unsettling encounter with a dark 7-foot tall 'Owlman' while patrolling her property near a conservation area. The suspense lingers as she remains vigilant, anticipating a possible reappearance. After the break, Cam delves into mysterious encounters with a creature dubbed the Owlman, also known as the Cornish Owlman or the Owlman of Mawnan. Initially considered a cryptid, it's later revealed as a therianthrope, specifically a wereavian. The Owlman's human origins remain elusive, shrouded in mystery, echoing the tale of Vivienne de Tabris from Toussaint, cursed by an unknown creature, resulting in her unborn daughter taking the form of a humanoid oriole on full moon nights. Could the Owlman's story share a similar mysterious origin? That remains undisclosed. If this had been the only sighting of this strange creature it could have been put it down to overactive imaginations. But it was only the first of several appearances of the half man and half bird which became known as the Owlman. Avian humanoid hybrids are common in folklore all across the world. They can be found in Egyptian, Hindu, Greek and Japanese cultures amongst many others. Tune in for all this and more on this captivating installment of Expanded Perspectives! Of all superheroes, Batman seems to have spawned more characters that are dark reflections of him than any other. Sure, Superman has Bizarro, and Spider-Man has Venom, but Batman has a legion of the them: Killer Moth, Bane, Hush, Owlman (the Lincoln March one), Wrath, Prometheus. There are enough to fill multiple episodes, so we have to start somewhere. This week, it's the two most directly anti-Batman dark mirrors from DC comics, but an intercompany crossover with the character who might just be the ultimate dark mirror of Batman. Batman/Grendel (Batman/Grendel: Devil's Riddle, Batman/Grendel: Devil's Masque) ... The Player on the Other Side (Batman Special # 1) Prometheus (New Year's Evil: Prometheus, JLA # 16-17) Check out our current ranking list at www.comicsxf.com/batchat-rankings/ Thanks to Geri Nonnewitz for our podcast logo Follow the show on Twitter @BatChatComics and support the show on Patreon at www.patreon.com/batchatwithmattandwill

The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe the good morning Mawnan Owlman. Morning. Has a giant, menacing half-owl half-human been terrorising the wonderful people of Cornwall since 1926, if not earlier? Is there a monstrous owl at all, or is it a gargoyle protecting its church? If it is an owlman, is the owlman a ballerina? This one made national headlines in the UK and a paranormal investigator would be brought in. Some have connected this case to surrealist painters Max Ernst and Leonora Carrington. Regardless of how the Owlman got here, the most important question is can it be stopped aka how can you stop it (from doing… things)? It goes without saying but we're gonna say it - this creature is clearly part of an alien civilisation of owl people whom visit the earth. There's no other way to explain the sightings of owls and strange lights in the sky, in the same area! This legendary tale is the stuff of legends. All that and more on this week's file. For the past century there has been a winged man-like entity haunting a small church of the English countryside. It has been described as being five feet in height with silvery-gray feathers and black pincer-like feet. Although the community and parish respond that the entity is only a large owl, there is enough evidence to suggest there is more, Is this a supernatural spirit guarding the grounds for some unknown reason? On this podcast we don't discriminate based on anything: race, religion, sexual orientation, or cryptid. That's right, all cryptids are treated as equals here, including the lesser known Owlman of Mawnan. Now, given my affinity for owls, I'm surprised, and frankly disappointed in myself that I'd not heard of this interesting little fella before. But, as my wife says a little too often: Better late than never. Bad jokes aside, the Owlman of Mawnan is spotted in a very specific part of the English countryside in the Cornwall region. Even more specifically it's spotted around a couple of churched, St. Mawnan and St. Stephen's. So, what is it? By all accounts, it's roughly a four foot tall humanoid creature with very owl life features. It's never attacked or harmed a person, and generally just watches before flying off. Sure, it's spooky, but ultimately harmless. Could it be related to the Mothman? Well, that's one theory. Aliens could also play a part in this mystery, but like most cryptids, we don't have a whole lot of evidence, other than a handful of sightings in a 20 year span. In the late 1970s a winged humanoid creature was said to have stalked the small Cornish village of Mawnan. For the past century there has been a winged man-like entity haunting a small church of the English countryside.
