On today's episode I have an awesome conversation with Blake West from northeast Mississippi who owns his own brokerage called Dray Logistics. Blake has an interesting timeline from owning a pizza place, selling insurance, and then getting in with CR England on their brokerage side. That was his door into the logistics industry. We do a nice deep dive on what drayage freight is and how its a whole different world compared to your general freight moving between distribution centers. You can find Blake on twitter @draylogistics or check out his website www.draylogistics.com
CRST and CR England trucking are settling a lawsuit for $2 MILLION total (Western Express already settled for $1.2 MILLION) over allegations that they basically black balled people out of trucking by not conspiring to not hire those on contract to other carriers. By the way, it did not go to trial, no one was … Continue reading CRST and CR England settle BIG on non-compete contracts | Trucking News | A Reason we are not on Mars | #130 →
In this likely Grammy nominated episode I discuss the Constitution. Also, CR England may be involved in a Class Action. Speaking of Class Action, Werner is also on the list. Same companies all the time. Weird. Electric cars are now racist. A reason we are not on Mars. Mark@TruckingAnswersNation.Com YouTube.Com/TruckingAnswers

Mike Stewart is literally in a big league of his own. The 34 year old entrepreneur has built an impressive fleet of 9 Trucks and 15 trailers, specializing in hauling hazardous materials (HAZMAT) that consist of everything from Fuel to Wine and Orange Juice. And it took him about 3 years. The California native attributes his rapid growth in this niche to a few key things. One, he and his team's attention to performance, Two, prioritizing his driver's and having extremely low turnover. and Three, the fact that Hauling Hazardous materials is not over saturated like some of the other trucking niches. In fact, the demand is so high that Mike implores other to get in now. The opportunities are great endless. Mike started his driving career at 23 following in his fathers footsteps, who also is a tenured driver. He began working for CR England as a company driver, but quickly became a owner operator seeing the high earning potential. Things with CR England , would not last long. Although Mike built up to 2 trucks, he got frustrated with the industry and sold them both. Reset. After some “time off” Mike decided to haul fuel because he knew it was the highest paying local CDL job in his area and he had previous HAZMAT experience. He took on the most difficult fuel hauling position and developed a passion for it. He would even grow to have supervisory role in his company, but his dreams for the company were bigger than their own. “The company did not see their own potential!” Mike wanted bigger! Mike took what he learned and all his HAZMAT experience, purchased a truck and a old tanker trailer and started Reliant Tanker Division. Fast forward Today, Mike has grown the company to not only hauling Fuel, but to specializing in all things HAZMAT with a mix of tankers, reefers, flatbeds and more. He has mange to carve out his own lane and has audacious plans for the future. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/trucknhustle/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/trucknhustle/support

This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. C.R. England has one of the most reliable trucking fleets in the country. And during the coronavirus, it's playing an heroic role in keeping the American supply chain moving. Its Chief Legal Officer, T.J. England is here to share details. TJ ENGLAND At C.R. England, we're fortunate to be a part of the transportation supply chain. We have the opportunity and challenge to be on the front lines of keeping our country moving and supplied during this crisis. We are one of the largest movers of temperature-controlled freight in America, with customers like Walmart, Target, and Riteaid. These products are especially critical now. Road congestion is down and fuel prices are depressed, which certainly helps us safely and efficiently deliver products nationwide. Our primary focus remains the safety of our employees, customers, and the motoring public. We're pleased that our early and aggressive efforts regarding working from home, social distancing, and other safety measures have been successful in limiting transmission and infection among our 7000+ North American employees. And we will continue to work with our customers, the consumer, and other stakeholders to see America through this pandemic. DEREK MILLER C.R. England is a great example of an essential business in Utah working to provide for the country during the COVID-19 crisis. More details are available at crengland.com. I'm Derek Miller, and this is Speaking on Business. Originally aired: May 5, 2020.
In a recent meeting of the ATA technology council, it was noted by many speakers that drivers don't really need more pay, what they really need is a nicer truck. Things like a cell phone holder make the list. This is how ATA member companies will cure the driver shortage that is fake news but they keep talking about. Is this something that you want from your next company? Do driver quit because of the lack of cell phone holders? The ATA and its member companies have no idea what drivers want. What about CR England? All they put in their trucks is extra bunks so more and more drivers can be fit in the truck. Now up to 3 per truck there. The ATA in no way represents drivers or has any idea what it is talking about. Have you watched my YouTube channel? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBLTOE0xkbIyGFFryPsE0Lg I write a blog. Newbies Trucking Can Be GreatNewbies Trucking Can Be Great if you will give it a fare chance. When you are given the opportunity to obtain a free CDL along with a contract for a job, Honor it. Thats right, honor the ink you signed on the page. After all its your word you have given agreeing to work for a carrier in exchange for a Class A CDL. A Class A CDL is a about equal to a collage degree but only better. You see when you have your CDL you have chance to make in most cases more than the average collage graduate. Driving a Semi Truck for a living also gives you the freedom of the open road if that is what you are wanting. A real trucker dreams of the day he obtains his license to drive the the big rigs. http://cdltrainingspot.com/13-reasons-why-truck-drivers-quit-for-good/ Trucking is a career not a job Newbies Trucking Can Be GreatNewbies Trucking Can Be Great if it is considered a career and not a job. Many people have heard that trucking is a great chance to make lots of money. This was a big mistake once they pursued this so called "job" they thought they were after. Once on the road they found out it was not for them. What we are trying to say is trucking is something more successful men have wanted and dreamed about most of their lives. Its a well thought out lifestyle and they have studied all about it most of their young lives. Most people that succeed already have a general idea of how life on the road will feel. All thats left is honing their skills and living the dream. http://www.facebook.com/talkcdlhttp://www.TalkCDL.com Stop Screwing Up Your Contracts Many drivers start out with one of the big companies like Swift, Werner, CR England and many more. Newbies Trucking Can Be Great if you would just finish what you started. Before going into this career you should count the cost that will be upon you. You will need to look ahead and consider what your life will be like. You have to know that your life will not be the same as it was before you leave home. Once you leave for the first time you will feel all kind of emotions. Those that are married with children will feel an emptiness when you wake up the next day in the cab of a strange truck. You will feel fatigue from adjusting to life on the road. Your eating habits will change and perhaps your health will statistically grow worse. Thats right a big percent of truckers have high blood pressure, high, blood sugar and many more health issues from life on the road. So consider everything before you waist a huge period of your life throwing money out the door along with putting unneeded stress in your life. https://www.smart-trucking.com/blog/new-truck-driver.html/
On January 31st 2017 Utah U.S. District Court judge, Judge Robert J. Shelby, granted certification to a nationwide class of truck drivers who allege fraud and other statutory claims against C.R. England. The court issued this favorable ruling for truck drivers, certifying a class action in the C.R. England Student Driver- Truck Lease lawsuit. Truck drivers allege claims of fraud, false advertising, and company unjust enrichment against C.R. England For many professional drivers this was a step towards a huge victory against a practice which has been considered at best unethical and at worst a deceitful contract designed for driver failure and company profit. Tonight our guest will be attorney Robert S Boulter who leads the case against the CR England trucking giant, representing thousands of drivers in this class action lawsuit. Robert S. Boulter of Boulter Law is a State Bar of California board certified specialist in franchise law and distribution law. He dedicates himself to representing small businesses, franchisees, distributors, employees, investors, truckers, and consumers. Mr Boulter litigates many types of cases including breach of contract, securities and securities fraud, civil racketeering, labor law, wage and hour law, franchise law, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, trade mark and trade secret infringement, restrictive covenants, broker and finder fee cases, interference with contract, and trade libel.
