POPULARITY
Welcome back to a niche little podcast called Sinclairity A Dinosaurs Tale. “Niche”, in this occurrence, is used to put a positive spin on the blaring irrelevance and undeniable obscurity of this little show we do once a week wherein we discuss every episode of the Jim Henson puppet sitcom from the late Cretaceous period (aka the early 90s.” This week, our brave and dashing hosts Tim and Ben throw caution to the wind and watch the season 4 Dinosaurs episode “Into the Woods.” They watch it so you don't have to, so please be grateful for them and if you are ever to encounter one of them in public, perhaps at a Walmart or a vegan deli, thank them for their service. Thank you for yours, by the way. Stay safe out there, girlboss.
Ian and David are midway-bound with their review of Edmund Goulding's 1947 carnie-noir, Nightmare Alley! In advance of Guillermo Del Toro's new adaptation of the William Lesley Gresham novel, the guys look at its cult-classic predecessor. Tyrone Power stars as Stanton, a carnival laborer who teams up with a fake psychic to fool the rubes and rake in the cash. One double-cross follows another, and soon Stanton finds himself building a small empire of deceit among Chicago's high society!Things get weirder from here, and in this spoiler-filled exploration, Ian and David talk about whether or not Nightmare Alley qualifies as "film noir"; what makes it such an unusual candidate for cult status; and why Del Toro's vision for the material makes Ian a bit nervous.Plus: David shares some of his favorite special features from the recently released Criterion Collection Blu-ray.Show Links:Watch the Nightmare Alley (1947) trailer.Watch the Nightmare Alley (2021) trailer (discussed in the show).Buy Nightmare Alley on DVD or Blu-ray from The Criterion Collection.Order the novel on which Nightmare Alley was based (also discussed in the show).Follow David's film criticism at Keeping It Reel.Subscribe to, like, and comment on the Kicking the Seat YouTube channel!
Part 2 of JAMIE'S HISTORY OF AMERICAN WINE Is Netflix a place? Can a wine be iconoclastic? Does Jamie know what “magnitude” means? What knots will Scott twist himself into just to avoid admitting that this movie is loooooooong? We may or may not answer any of these questions, but you'll never know if you don't listen. THE IRISHMAN is directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Steven Zaillian. It is available to stream on Netflix (and is on a very sexy Criterion Collection Blu-ray if you're into physical media). The 2020 Maison Noir Wines ‘Love Drunk' Rosé is available at Astor Wine and Spirits for $20 Follow the show on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook @BiggerBottlePod

It’s the direct-to-video sequel to the podcast you didn’t know existed. Your hosts Sara (@SaraSorrentino) , Ale (@Sick__66), and Shak (@ShakExcellence) discuss the threequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer called I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. Listen as they talk about literally anything else other than this movie, because folks, this movie is bad. It’s so bad they’d rather talk about other movies, like Stomp The Yard: Homecoming or The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. They also talk about how Shak picked this movie sight unseen, which turns out to be torture for everyone involved. They also touch on how Sara doesn’t watch too many horror movies. They also define the tropes of film noir. Anything but this movie. Listen! Click below to order your copy of the Criterion Collection Blu-ray of I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer!
