Send us a textIn this full episode of *2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates*, Drew and Rob dive headfirst into the trenches with a detailed breakdown of the top 15 offensive tackle prospects entering the 2025 NFL Draft. With the New York Giants continuing to build through the draft and offensive line remaining a key concern, this episode offers a comprehensive look at the prospects who could become foundational pieces for Big Blue or impact the league at large. Whether you're a diehard Giants fan, a draft enthusiast, or simply love trench warfare in football, this episode has something for you.The duo starts with Armand Membou of Missouri, an agile and athletic tackle who played nearly every snap at right tackle, showcasing his All-SEC talent despite some concerns with long-arm rushers. Kelvin Banks Jr. from Texas is another standout, a three-year starter with an impressive trophy case and consistent performance at left tackle. LSU's Will Campbell brings SEC grit, smart play, and next-level footwork, although his shorter arms might translate better to guard in the pros.Josh Simmons, a top-tier pass protector from Ohio State, has raw potential with elite upside, while Grey Zabel out of South Dakota State demonstrates remarkable positional versatility across the line. Minnesota's Aireontae Ersery, another three-year starter, boasts elite strength and arm length, standing tall as a first-round-worthy left tackle.Oregon's Josh Conerly Jr. impresses with his athleticism and background as a former running back, though scouts note balance issues. Ohio State's Donovan Jackson stepped in at left tackle after Simmons' injury but might project better as a guard due to athletic limitations in space. Meanwhile, Wyatt Milum of West Virginia brings the lunch-pail mentality with four years of LT experience and a dominant 2024 season. The analysis continues with Jonah Savaiinaea from Arizona, a big-bodied lineman who may move inside, and Marcus Mbow of Purdue, a powerful presence with aggressive hands but room to grow against stutter-step pass rushers. Texas's Cameron Williams has the raw tools and strength but struggles with speed and technique.Boston College's Ozzy Trapilo, a massive 6'8” presence, displays football IQ and fiery play, but must improve pad level and hand placement. William & Mary's Charles Grant could be this year's sleeper, showcasing NFL-level traits despite a small school résumé. Lastly, Anthony Belton from NC State has the size and physicality but must overcome footwork issues and character concerns after a controversial on-field incident. This deep-dive episode is packed with scouting insights, positional fit discussion, and potential draft positioning. Whether the Giants are targeting a day-one starter or looking for value on day two or three, this offensive tackle class presents a variety of options. 1. Do you think Will Campbell's best role at the NFL level is at tackle or at guard?2. What are your biggest concerns about Armand Membou's game at the moment and would you be surprised if he eventually ends up as the best OL from this class?3. Do you think Kelvin Banks, Jr. will mostly benefit a team as a run blocker or as a pass protector during his rookie season?4. If you're a team picking in the top-20 with a huge need at left tackle and you deem that medical information to be accurate, is Josh Simmons worth taking there?5. Do you think Donovan Jackson will be better at guard or tackle in the NFL? 6. Is Tyler Booker's extreme lack of athleticism enough to scare you away from him, or is he still a prospect with an extremely high floor who's worthy of a top-40 selection, if not higher?7. As Dane Brugler noted in November, many around the league (if not most) would say Grey Zabel's best possible fit is at center. What makes Grey Zabel well-equipped to be the proverbial QB of an NFL offensive line?8. Buy Or Sell-Josh Conerly, Jr., Aireontae Ersery, Ozzy Trapilo, Charles Grant, Cameron Williams, Emery Jones, Jr., Logan Brown, Jonah Savaiinaea, Wyatt Milum, Marcus Mbow, Tate Ratledge, Miles Frazier, Jackson Slater, Willie Lampkin, Jared Wilson

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - got together ahead of the Arizona-Washington game to break down the main storylines, but it's hard to get past the biggest one of all; these defenses are bad. To start the show, they talked about how Arizona should attack a wounded UW defense, licking their wounds and trying to limp through the next two games before a much-needed BYE week shows up. They are especially banged up in the secondary, which makes the recent news of Cameron Williams redshirting all the more curious. They talk about that, as well as what we might expect to see from a defensive backfield that will unveil their seventh different lineup in as many weeks. They also talked about the defensive front and why UW had to rely on true freshman Jayvon Parker and what the future looks like in that position. But most importantly, they talked about Arizona quarterback Jayden de Laura and what Washington has to do in order to get him off his spot and behind the chains. After a quick break, that led them right into the main point in trying to limit de Laura; get out to a sizable lead, and force de Laura into situations where he needs to push the ball downfield. As it has been shown so far this season, when he feels like he's got to get the 'Cats back in the game, that's when he can make mistakes when extending plays. The guys also talk about the interesting decision by Arizona Head Coach Jedd Fisch to hire former Washington, USC, and UCLA assistant coach Johnny Nansen to be his defensive coordinator. And with Arizona's run defense statistically one of the worst in all of college football, the UW offensive game plan seems clear; run, run, run, and then let Michael Penix Jr. play-action off of those runs. But who will be UW's leading ballcarrier? Wayne Taulapapa? Cameron Davis? Richard Newton? Will Nixon? Sam Adams? It will be interesting to see who emerges, and it may be more than one. They also talk about the role the tight ends could play in a game plan like this, and also delve into an important question about game mechanics; if UW wins the toss, should they take the ball? This may be one of the few games where going on the offensive from the start is the right tactic to take. When we can empower victims of violent crimes, we need to do so. When the news went out that inmate Casey White and a jailer were missing, Austin & Cameron Williams understood that the accused killer of their mother, Connie Ridgeway, was being held in Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama. Instead, they quickly found out that he had been transferred back to Lauderdale County Detention Center in Florence, Alabama, months earlier without their knowledge. The more we thought about that particular transfer and how it occurred, the more we thought about how important it is for victims to know when a transfer of a violent offender is being requested or is occurring. After already being victimized, empowering victims with that knowledge is extremely important. Ricki Howard Martin, whose brother, Carl, was murdered in 2009, heard about our Justice For Connie Ridgeway “Connie's Law” effort and wanted to show her support by sharing her story. Tonight, you will hear from Ricki and why Connie's Law is important to her.

In this interview edition of The Flagship Podcast interview, we talk about Longhorn Nation's early Christmas present — Texas' 2022 signing class — with 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong. We go position by position in a recruiting class ranked No. 5 by 247Sports, starting with a heralded offensive line haul that includes the nation's No. 1 offensive tackle - Kelvin Banks. Wiltfong discusses the rest of the offensive line class, including Neto Umeozulu, Malik Agbo, Cole Hutson, Cameron Williams and Connor Robertson. We get Wiltfong's thoughts on a big-time defensive line haul by the Longhorns, led by four-star tackle Jaray Bledsoe and four-star edge rusher J'Mond Tapp. Wiltfong also shares his thoughts on 2022 defensive line signees Justice Finkley, Kristopher Ross (who might be due for a ratings upgrade), Ethan Burke, Derrick Brown, Aaron Bryant and Zac Swanson. Of course, there's plenty of discussion about quarterback Quinn Ewers, the Longhorns' highest-rated recruit since Vince Young in 2002, as well as big-armed four-star quarterback Maalik Murphy. Wiltfong also has an interesting take on uncommitted five-star linebacker Harold Perkins. How quickly can additions in the secondary, such as cornerback Terrance Brooks, a late flip from Ohio State, help Texas? Wiltfong gives you his answer and much, much more. The Texas Longhorns had four days of massive recruiting news that could potentially impact both the short and long-term potential of the program. The Longhorns received commitments from three key offensive linemen, including the No. 15 player in the country, Kelvin Banks, the No. 23 player in the state, Neto Umeozulu, and priority tackle Cameron Williams, adding a ton of size and potential to the offensive line. Texas also received word that after flirting with both the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the TCU Horned Frogs, elite quarterback transfer Quinn Ewers planned on transferring to the Longhorns and joining in the spring. The former No. 1 player in the class of 2022 reclassified and spent a year at Ohio State, seemingly to capitalize on NIL deals that he was unable to in his home state. So what does the quarterback bring to the table and how does his game adapt to Steve Sarkisian's offense. Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook. It's not exactly Air Raid, but Arkansas State is still putting up some monster offensive numbers through two games. They are third in all of FBS in total offense (610 yards per game), and top-20 in scoring offense at 44.5 points per game. In talking with the Washington defensive players Wednesday, they're excited to see the Red Wolves come to town. It's going to be a real clash of the titans because Arkansas State leads the country in pass offense (460 yards a game), while Washington is number 2 when it comes to passing yards allowed in a game (74.5). "Spread, they like to throw the ball," cornerback Kyler Gordon said. "Ready for that, been waiting for that. It's going to be a fun game." "That's my Dad's alma mater, actually," said freshman outside linebacker Cooper McDonald said, smiling. "Hoping we can put the smack on them." The Huskies have only had 38 passes thrown on them so far through two games, so they haven't had a ton of opportunities to come up with a pick. That shouldn't be a problem Saturday afternoon, as the Red Wolves have already attempted 106 passes. "We've got to be able to stop the run and then we've got to be able to stop the pass after that," said UW DB Coach Will Harris. "It's going to create opportunities, and I believe great defenses create turnovers, whether that is through the run or whether that's through the pass." With no turnovers forced to date, it's something that's been on Gordon's mind. He's got a bet with Trent McDuffie to see who gets the first interception of the season. The winner gets a video game. And Kyler's got his heart set on the new Call of Duty. "I'm thinking the ball's in the air, someone's gotta get it," he said. "One of the DBs gotta get it. If it's not me, it's Trent or Bookie, AC, someone. Someone's gonna get it, so everyone's really excited to see the ball in the air. It's definitely more motivating." The defense is motivated as much by the 0-2 start than anything else, but Harris knows it starts with the coaches first to put the players in a position to be successful. We've already seen one change in the depth chart; Cameron Williams will start at free safety. "Let's be realistic; at the end of the day we'd like to be better on the defensive side of the ball," said Harris. "We have to, first and foremost, look ourselves in the mirror as coaches, and then we've got to get these guys situated to where we can get a better scheme for them to go out there and execute it." Does that mean fans could see more changes on the defensive side of the ball on Saturday? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

News exploded from the Oregon program recently. Veteran linebacker Isaac Slade-Matautia elected to transfer out of the Oregon program leaving more playing time for Justin Flowe. Charlie and Reid give their thoughts on how this should impact fans' perception of the linebacker room for the upcoming season. Additionally, the nation's number one player in 2021 JT Tuimoloau opted to cancel his visit to Alabama. Oregon and Ohio State look to be the favorites to land JTT's commitment as we near a decision. We update everything that has happened in the JTT recruitment including conspiracy theories, beer GIFs, and some speculative oddsmaking. Additionally, TJ Dudley and Cameron Williams have commitments scheduled to take place in the next week and we preview those. It's a full show in the middle of summer! Spring football isn’t just about the players getting prepared for the season ahead, it’s also about the coaches making sure they’re fully prepared to deal with everything that comes up. And Jimmy Lake hasn’t been shy about throwing out all sorts of different game scenarios that tests the team’s ability to immediately react and perform under different levels of pressure. Sometimes it’s a 4-minute drill where the offense is playing keep-away from the defense to salt away a win. Sometimes it’s the offense backed up deep in their own end, no time outs, and they have to score down three points. No matter what Lake draws up at any point in time, just know that it could change at any moment, and it’s not just the players who have to roll with it. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - begin and end the Day 12 podcast talking about the different situations Lake has put the units in and how it has stressed the players and coaches alike. John Donovan talked about it specifically on Monday when he took questions from the media. The guys also talk about who had big days on offense, starting with receiver Jalen McMillan, who had two pass plays of over 50 yards, as well as juco tight end Quentin Moore. The talk also turned to the offensive line and how they’ve been quietly steady throughout spring, despite not having starting right tackle Victor Curne for the last week or so. But the main talk on the offense has to do with the quarterbacks, no surprise there. Dylan Morris showed why he’s the number-one guy, but Patrick O'Brien continues to impress and has definitely earned the trust of the offensive coaches. Moving to the running backs, Cameron Davis and Richard Newton were the ones who stood out the most on Monday, but we talk about where that position stands heading into the final week of spring. Talk moved to the other side of the ball, with comments on Edefuan Ulofoshio playing some on the edges Monday, much like Josh Calvert did on Saturday - as well as players singled out by Defensive Coordinator Bob Gregory for their play to date, namely Cameron Williams, Kamren Fabiculanan, Tuli Letuligasenoa, Sam Taimani, and Bralen Trice. We also talk about some of the defensive players who stood out, including Jacobe Covington, Meki Pei, and Mishael Powell. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

After last week's frustrating loss to Cal, the Huskies are at a bit of a crossroads as they head into their game later today against Hawaii. One of the biggest concerns to come out of 20-19 loss to Cal at Husky Stadium last week is where their receiving corps' confidence level lies. Andre Baccellia, Aaron Fuller and Chico McClatcher, all seniors, had multiple drops and missed opportunities and during the week we spoke with McClatcher and Baccellia, each of whom just gave the company line of needing to catch the ball when it hits them in the hands. That may be of little solace to Husky fans who want to see how some of the younger receivers, specifically Puka Nacua and Austin Osborne, and what they can do in the offense. In addition to the receiver group, there's also some concern about the defense and whether the group that is out on the field can be better than previous iterations. A big part of what has made the Husky defense so successful since the arrival of Chris Petersen in 2014 has been its ability to get turnovers, but two games into the 2019 season, Washington has none and you know that has to be a focus for the coaches on that side of the ball. Also, which young defensive players deserve more playing time and which could use a rest? Cameron Williams impressed during the spring and in fall camp, but so far the returns on his play have been mixed. Could someone like Brandon McKinney come in and see more playing time or is there a chance another freshman, Asa Turner, could see more reps? Another player who many think should see an increase in playing time is outside linebacker Laiatu Latu and, if he's healthy, expect him to get on the field a lot more. All those subjects and a few more were discussed by Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund as they get your ready for kickoff against the Rainbow Warriors later today... On Tuesday, it was time for the defense to stand up, take stock of their performance against Eastern Washington last weekend, and also look ahead to their next challenge, the California Golden Bears. The defense gave up 274 total yards to the Eagles in their convincing 47-14 win. It hasn't always been that easy against Eastern. In 2011, it took a Desmond Trufant pick in the end zone to preserve a 30-27 win, and in Chris Petersen's first season at Washington (2014), the Huskies survived a 59-52 Wild West shootout. But this past Saturday, the only thing the defense didn't do was cause a turnover, and Defensive Coordinator Jimmy Lake, senior defensive back Myles Bryant, and junior defensive back Elijah Molden talked a lot about that. There was also a bust when true freshman Cameron Williams ran into junior cornerback Keith Taylor, allowing Eastern receiver Andrew Boston to run 64 yards untouched to the end zone. Lake, Bryant, and Molden talked about cleaning that up and how Williams will bounce back from that learning experience. Brandon Wellington talked about the inside linebackers group, as well as the budding play of redshirt freshman MJ Tafisi, who is quickly earning a reputation as a hard-hitting WIL. Pete Kwiatkowski is going to be using the tape of Laiatu Latu's safety for years to come. He talked about the true freshman, as well as other outside linebacker combinations, and how the depth is starting to come back to the point where you might see more 'hockey shift' substitutions along the defensive front. The Washington Huskies kick off the 2019 season at noon against one of the top FCS programs in the country, Eastern Washington, a team which played in the FCS National Title game back in January. Heading into the game there are quite a few storylines that fans and the media have been talking about. How does Washington's offense transition after four seasons with quarterback Jake Browning and tailback Myles Gaskin now gone? Does the defensive line have what it takes to keep Eastern Washington's explosive offense in check? Will the Huskies employ a spy to keep an eye on Eagles quarterback Eric Barriere? How many of the talented true freshmen will play this week and will they play all season? The last two times the Huskies played the Eagles, both at Husky Stadium, the Dawgs were pushed to the brink, winning 59-52 in overtime back on September 6, 2014, in Chris Petersen's first home game as the head coach with the Dawgs. In 2011, the Huskies barely held off the Eagles, eking out a 30-27 win as Desmond Trufant intercepted a pass in the endzone on the final play of the game to secure the win. Will this be a repeat of those results? The stress of that may be too much for Husky Nation to bear. One exciting thing about the start of any season is projecting which true freshmen may play in week one and which freshmen may play enough to burn their redshirts. We know that Tim Horn and Cameron Williams, both of whom are listed as starters will likely play more than the four-game maximum, but other players, like Asa Turner, Trent McDuffie, and Puka Nacua may all play enough to burn their redshirts, but at the very least, Saturday will be their first taste of big-time college football and that's exactly why they signed their letters-of-intent. In today's DawgmanRadio Podcast, Kim Grinolds, Scott Eklund, and Chris Fetters touch on those subjects as well as others as they give you something to whet your appetite as you enjoy your pregame festivities... The first game of the season is this weekend and as the Huskies prepare to stop an explosive Eastern Washington attack, the defensive players and staff know they have their work cut out for them. We got the chance to catch up with defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake who talked about playing a lot of different players in the secondary including two new starters -- Kyler Gordon and true freshman Cameron Williams -- both of whom the coaches and players feel very comfortable with in the deep patrol. Co-defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski has some familiarity with the Eastern Washington coaching staff, so there isn't a lot of unknowns as far as what they will see on Saturday. The linebackers have to replace a lot of leadership and experience, but linebackers coach Bob Gregory told the media he feels like the players he has stepping into those spots -- Brandon Wellington and Kyler Manu as well as youngsters Jackson Sirmon and M.J. Tafisi -- are more than capable of getting it done and now is their chance to show what they can do. Even though he's been around for a while, Gregory said he still gets the jitters and wouldn't be coaching anymore if he didn't still get them. He also discussed how seeing an opponent early in the season, especially in college, where they don't have a lot of film or just a limited scouting report makes things easier because you can just go out and play ball instead of being overloaded with information. Linebackers Kyler Manu and Brandon Wellington talked about getting their first starts at Husky Stadium and how big it is for Manu to finally earn a starting spot after five years in the program. Finally, Elijah Molden and Levi Onwuzurike talked about finally getting the chance to hit someone that isn't wearing purple. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Husky defense has some attrition to overcome from last season. Mainstays like Greg Gaines and Jaylen Johnson along the defensive line as well as the linebackers and the secondary, which lost five full-time starters between both groups, has seen plenty of turnover, but due to versatility and some talented underclassmen, the Huskies like where they're at as they are just two weeks from the kickoff of the season. On Friday, the guys from Dawgman.com got the chance to check in with two players and a coach to see how strongly they feel about how things are coming along. Pete Kwiatkowski feels like he has a good group of players who have really improved and the feeling is that even though most people tend to focus on double-digit sacks, he's more worried about getting consistent pressure on the quarterback, getting him to move off of his spot and forcing things since the sacks will come. He said he wouldn't be showing up every day if he didn't think this group could get it done. Giving Kwiatkowski some sense of comfort is the presence of Benning Potoa'e who has moved inside. Potoa'e says he's working on getting his recognition down and that he's making progress on reading things, but Kwiatkowski said moving inside has allowed him to play freer where he doesn't have to worry about contain anymore like he did when he was playing on the edge. Senior defensive back Myles Bryant, the defacto leader of the deep patrol, likes where things are at and feels like he's been coached well enough since he arrived to be able to play either safety or nickel and he would be ready to go, but he also says he doesn't mind where he lines up as long he can compete. He also gave his thoughts on freshman Cameron Williams and what makes him so good at what he does even though he's still very young. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

All The President's Minutes is a podcast where conversations about movies, journalism, politics and history meet. Each show we use the seminal and increasingly prescient 1976 film All The President's Men as a portal, to engage with the themes and the warnings of the film resonating since its release. For minute thirteen host, Blake Howard joins film and television critic, Cameron Williams. Blake and Cam discuss the casual mood that opens the film, the stack terrific vocal performances from people on the other end of the phone and climax with Cam's infuriation that the great Roger Ebert only awarded All The President's Men three and a half stars out of four. About the episode: Part One: World-renowned film critic and writer/editor for New York Magazine Bilge Ebiri reunite to talk about the fact that The Last of the Mohicans is the Star Wars of colonial history movies.Part Two: Prolific Australian film and T.V critic Cam Williams and I take a wander down nostalgia lane to talk about discovering Mohicans in Australia circa. 1993, before formally apologising to any Mann fans who’ve begun to embark on a minute by minute Mohicans examination for stealing their thunder.About the show:THE LAST (12 minutes) OF THE MOHICANS is a twelve-episode limited podcast series focusing on the climax of the Michael Mann’s 1992 epic The Last of the Mohicans. The format of the podcast, which slightly differs from ONE HEAT MINUTE, utilises the entire final twelve-minute climax of Mohicans as a portal to explore the themes of the movie, the cross-section of political apparatuses, colonial superpower wrangling, and Mr Mann’s riff on the “great American hero.” The film features an Award-winning Academy score from Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones, iconic performances, stunning cinematography from Dante Spinotti, a relentlessly paced script from Mann and co-writer Christopher Crowe and masterful orchestration from Mann. The film’s extended finale - triggered by the delivery of tribal justice until the credits roll - is arguably one of the greatest endings to almost any movie ever.About the movie: The Last of the Mohicans is adapted (and significantly altered from) James Fenimore Cooper novel. Set in 1757, Mohicans follows three trappers who are inadvertently drawn into the French and Indian War when they rescue the daughters of a British Colonel and a British Captain escort from an ambush. It stars Academy Award Winner Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, Academy Award Winner* Wes Studi, Russell Means, Eric Schweig, Jodhi May and Steven Waddington.About Bilge: Bilge Ebiri is a film critic/writer/editor at New York Magazine.
