Text us and say hello! When it came to Nickelodeon in the late 90s and early 2000s, you had something for pretty much everybody. You had the cartoons (Nicktoons), the game shows and sports (Nick GaS), and you had shows for the older crowd, in a weekly programming block called SNICK. Every Saturday night, older kids could watch anything from sitcoms (Clarissa Explains it All) to sketch comedy shows (All That) to scary stories (Are You Afraid of the Dark). Seriously, it was one of the best 2-hour blocks of TV in the 90s. AND it's what we're covering this week in Part 3 of the New Year's Nonstop Nickelodeon Extravaganza! We're coming back inside after venturing out into the creepiness that nature has for us. This is out last outdoor adventure of the Natural Landmarks month. But, as soon as we get outside, we go inside. Into the depths of a cave known for harboring a witch that appears to be both helpful and very cruel. We head to Bell Witch Cave.We start with the story of the Bells that lived on a farm near this cave, but they were tortured by a witch that has very mysterious origins. Lisa tells us about that and a few other things that seem to happen near this cave. Jake hits us up with a story of people that just want to stay in the cave but are haunted by way more than just the ghost of a witch. And Davis finishes things off with a Christmas rap for all you witches. The 68th episode of The Possibly Paranormal Podcast is anything but possibly. It is most definitely paranormal and is trying to get you. The witch, the stories, the history, and all the weirdly Christmasy goodness you could ever want in September. All this and oh so much more on TPPP 68: Bell Witch Cave. Support the show

Vegas Film Critic (Jeffrey K. Howard) speaks with the cast of Are You Afraid of the Dark: Ghost Island on Nickelodeon.
What is a buck moon!? Suzie has a weird dream with an ending like an episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark? We talk a little bit about the James Webb images. Kati drops some facts about the moon that leaves Sarah totally speechless.
If you were a '90s kid, chances are you wanted just two things in life: for Nick to take over your school, and a spot saved for you on the big orange couch synonymous with SNICK. Nickelodeon's Saturday night programming block for pre-teens launched in 1992 and became an instant hit with the demographic who was still awake at 8pm but had nowhere to go. Now that we're all grown up, is there anything worth revisiting in any of the many shows that graced the SNICK lineup? Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, we take a look back at CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL, ALL THAT, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?, THE SECRET WORLD OF ALEX MACK, ROUNDHOUSE, THE ADVENTURES OF PETE & PETE, and some of the other shows that made us feel like we finally had something to do on a Saturday night. Plus, we try and figure out why Super Soakers had such a monopoly on children's advertising in the '90s. EP 275 - Slayed For TV "TV will rot your brains" The typical warning that every one of us has heard at one time or another from a parent, concerned that our constant intake of Ren & Stimpy and Are You Afraid Of The Dark was going to destroy our retinas and turn our gray matter to mush. If you're anything like us, your response to your parents would always be the same, "Mom..... Death to videodrome, long live the new flesh." At which point your parents immediately threw out the television and got you the best therapist money could buy. Total overreaction. This week grabbed some Altered Contact Tart IPA from Elysian Brewing, and killed some braincells with a couple of flicks about the dangers of the small screen. Cheers!!! Follow us! This week Terry rubbed a magic lamp and disappeared but will be back for the next episode. In the meantime, Paul is joined by Mary as they sit around the campfire for an episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark?, S1. Ep. 11 The Tale of the Dark Music. They meet Andy Carr, a down on his luck kid just trying to make enough paper route money to pay for his school lunch. His fortunes may change, however, when he finds an ominous door in the basement of his new home...
PUBLIC VERSION. Actress Elisha Cuthbert (HAPPY ENDINGS, 24, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK, OLD SCHOOL, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, LOVE ACTUALLY, HOUSE OF WAX, and SO many more) joins Adam, Joe, and Arwen to discuss her career journey. From the intensity of shooting a series as ambitious as 24… to her honest initial reaction to Richard Curtis' screenplay for his genius romantic comedy LOVE ACTUALLY… to the choices that made Luke Greenfield's THE GIRL NEXT DOOR such a classic coming of age film… to the disappointment of seeing how different of a movie CAPTIVITY became after an executive decision was made to shoot a whopping 30 pages of “new/additional scenes” after principal photography had already been completed… to Elisha's amazing story about how sticking to her guns and speaking up lead to her being cast in HAPPY ENDINGS… to a super in-depth discussion about the making of her latest film THE CELLAR (now playing in theaters and streaming on SHUDDER) and what it was like filming in Ireland during the height of the global pandemic… this is an absolutely phenomenal conversation that you're going to wish never had to end. (We could have easily gone on for another 2 hours if time had allowed!) Unfortunately, there is no “Hollywood Therapy” segment this week as Arwen wasn't feeling well (don't worry, she went to the vet right after this recording and she's already feeling much better) but Elisha was able to answer a bunch of your “Viewer Mail” questions before we ran out of time!
On an all new episode of your Boo Crew, you are joined by award winning actor, Elisha Cuthbert! We talk horror, alien abductions, and a walk thru her fantastic career from ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK , to the splatter film she made with the director of multiple Oscar winning films and a 70s and 80s genre legend, to the game changing HOUSE OF WAX remake and so much more! Plus, she gets you pumped for her brand new chiller, THE CELLAR, shot on location in a GOREgeous haunted house in Ireland, in theaters and on Shudder April 15th! So whatcha waiting for? Head downstairs for episode 314 with Elisha Cuthbert, now slaying! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
This is it. This is the very first episode of Whiskeylodeon. It started as just a fun hang out, and how we want you to hang out with us as we dive right in. Covering the pilot episodes of Rugrats and Are You Afraid Of The Dark, we're going to drink and discuss what we remember loving about the shows, what was weirder than we remember, and spend a ridiculous amount of time on how Stu's Nightmare Basement in Rugrats still haunt us to this day. So pour yourself a glass friends. We're getting drunk off nostalgia... And whiskey!
Quija boards in broad daylight, possession by deceased relatives, and pockets full of thirty-year-old kibble... Oh lawd, it's about to get pretty dark! In this Season Binge episode, these '90s kids make light of one of the lowest rated, and yet funniest, Are You Afraid Of The Dark? episodes. Somebody feed these hounds, dammit… Have a frightfully nostalgic memory to share or a pretty dark topic you'd like us to cover? BenDavid Grabinski (HAPPILY, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK, THOMAS' BROTHER) joins us to talk about the weirdly good Psycho II. A movie that has no right to be as good as it is. A movie that uses a lot of the same sets as Back to the Future. A movie that is, in many ways, about Meg Tilly's hair. This podcast is SEQUELS ONLY. Hosted on Acast.
