Jim Miller. Killin' Jim. Right before stepping off a wooden crate with a noose around his neck, in front of the members of the lynch mob that wanted him dead, Miller claimed to have killed 51 men. I believe him. This guy put the wild... in the wild west. Hope you enjoy this Short Suck! Jim Miller's killing spree continues. He targets his own business partner, and a lawyer, and a Deputy U.S. Marshal, and possibly the famous sheriff, Pat Garrett. Miller stays out of trouble, as usual, until he travels to Oklahoma to dispose of another Deputy U.S. Marshal. The evidence against him is damning, and the vigilantes won't wait for the courts to deal with Jim Miller. It's time for another trip back to the wild west day, dear listeners. And we're talking about a man so religious and wholesome that it earned him his nickname, "Deacon" Jim Miller. That's the image he portrayed anyways, meanwhile he was basically a wild west serial killer. Just roaming the lands and shotgunning anyone he decided needed killing, which was quite a few people apparently.

Let's be honest, y'all - there's been a lot of transitions at Forefront recently and many of you have certainly been wondering what the future of our church is going to look like. Thankfully, with the commissioning of new Community Pastor, Josh Lee, we're all celebrating knowing what the next steps are going to look like as we work towards ushering in the next 500 years of Christianity! Deacon Jim is joined by Teaching Pastor, Venida Jenkins, and Executive Producer, Makenzie Gomez, to chat with Josh and help you all get a clearer picture of his story, his background, and how his journey of overcoming shame as a queer man ultimately led him to becoming the person that he is and Forefront's newest member of the Executive Council. ABOUT JOSH Josh's experiences have exposed him to a wide spectrum of thought, that compelled him to create greater unity among diversity. He has served as an Associate Pastor in the Assemblies of God & United Methodist Church, Youth Director in the American Baptist Church, Senior Pastor at an Independent Christian Church, and most recently as Co-Pastor at an Inter-denominational Church. Throughout his career and education, he has lived at the intersectionality of both the Christian and LGBTQIA+ community, instilling him with empathy to love God and people without exception. Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies from Moody Bible Institute and his Master of Divinity from Garrett Theological Seminary and is ordained in the United Church of Christ. Josh loves spending a night in with his partner Austin watching Netflix and enjoying peach cobbler or a night out together dancing with friends or shopping for more clothes!

Homily 22nd Sunday of Ordinary Time 2021 delivered by Deacon Jim Nazzal.
Today we interview Deacon Jim - fellow Catholic Dad and Husband, who happens to be a permanent Deacon. Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4V570gk... Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... Anchor: https://anchor.fm/badcatholicdads The Bad Catholic Dads Podcast is first and foremost, a podcast where two lay (not ordained by the church) Catholic men, husbands, and dads hangout “on air” and talk with you: the listener about faith & family. We're a sort of "podcast ministry/community" where we hope to pray together, talk with each other, laugh together, even maybe cry together, but we're not even professionals or experts, just two best dad-friends on a podcast who talk about life. Our mission: to spread the Gospel and to show authentic Catholic fatherhood through our podcast and witness. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/badcatholicdads/support
