"Sometimes God takes an appointed time, an appointed moment to intervene in your life." — Daniel FazzinaSome miracles happen instantly; others are slow brewed over time. God works in both ways and every way in between, displaying His divine interventions in our world. Christian author and journalist Daniel Fazzina has spent years documenting the Lord's miracles, so the world knows there is a God who deeply loves and cares for us. Fazzina suggests we shouldn't just look for a repeat of the parting of the Red Sea—we should look for everyday miracles closer to home. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith, Fazzina discusses the audiobook release of Divine Intervention: 50 True Stories of God's Miracles Today and his upcoming event, "Power of Testimony," taking place on Long Island, NY, on September 12th. For Fazzina, finding miracles isn't the challenge. It's convincing people to open their minds to stories of unexplained healings, spiritual transformations, and even resurrection. What if the thing you thought was a delay was actually a miracle? In this powerful episode, Bart Merrill shares an extraordinary true-life story about amputation, intuition, divine timing, and a series of seemingly small decisions that ultimately protected both him and his wife.Bart had already endured 12 years of excruciating pain after a devastating accident left him with a severely damaged ankle. Eventually, his ankle bone deteriorated to the point where there was nothing left to fuse, and doctors told him that amputation was likely his best option. But Bart's most remarkable story isn't simply about losing his leg. It's about timing. And what happened when he listened to the feeling that told him, not yet.Bart Merrill's Miracle Story: The Power of Divine TimingBart originally scheduled his leg amputation for November 2023. Then, for several reasons—including concerns about the holidays, recovery, and insurance—he decided to postpone the surgery. He eventually rescheduled. And then something happened that changed everything. When a Delay Becomes a MiracleBart's story raises a fascinating question: Can intuition tell us when the timing of something is wrong? He had practical reasons for postponing his surgery. The battle was never yours to fight. In this message we return to the moment Jehoshaphat stood before an enemy too big for him and discovered the name of the God who commands the armies of heaven. Moab, Ammon, and Mount Seir had already crossed deep into Judah's own territory, and all Jehoshaphat had was an altar, a song, and a name to call on. He went to the altar, and then he sang. When the singers lifted their voice, the Lord set ambushes against the enemy, and Judah never had to swing a single blow. Yahweh Sabaoth is the LORD of Hosts, the LORD who commands the armies of heaven. He did not retire after the Old Testament. He put on flesh. Jesus is Yahweh Sabaoth in a body, the same Commander John saw riding on a white horse with the armies of heaven behind Him. He has never lost a battle. Not at the Red Sea. Not at Jericho. Not at Calvary. Not in Ziz. And not in your situation either. He fights. You sing. That is the whole strategy. That is the whole revelation. That is the whole victory. Three points from this message: No matter how great your problem is, your God is greater. (2 Chronicles 20:15) Some things have to be believed to be seen. (2 Chronicles 20:20) Praise brings God to the battlefield, and God has never lost a battle. Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:13-23, 2 Chronicles 20:15, 2 Chronicles 20:20, 2 Chronicles 20:25-26 Stay connected at https://calvaryfl.com

Welcome to the Inverted Orthodoxy Podcast! We're Blake, Kyle, and Doug the pastors from Living Springs, here to take you on a weekly adventure through the twists and turns of faith. Got questions? We've got answers, and sometimes more questions! Join us as we explore, celebrate, and embrace the beautiful complexities of belief. This weeks episode covers the following questions: (2:24 into episode) April 1- What is your take/opinion on Divine Intervention? God Stepping in or Angels interceding on our behalf to save of us from certain things (Car Crash, Muggings, Drowning, Etc.), in certain situations. Or maybe direct us down a different path, etc. And if NOT, then please explain what you think all these stories could be.(9:48 into episode) April 5- When Jesus says not to store up treasure on earth was that literal or about our hearts? Is saving for a vacation, or saving into a pension, or for kids educations, storing up treasure or wisdom because our lives have some huge expenses? What about wanting to pass on inheritance to your children? If we take it literally, like the early disciples would we sell all our belongings, all the excess, instead of saving, give it away to the poor, but that doesn't seem very wise. What are your thoughts?(21:55 into episode) April 6- What are your top tips for being less selfish?(33:02 into episode) April 6-I'm not trying to generalize, but lately I've been thinking and seeing a lot about mega churches and some of the things they do in the name of Jesus but it seems like the performance is more important than the teaching. Would you consider some of these practices to be performative Christianity? Like drone shows on Easter, excessive fog and lights at worship times, it seems like more of a show than a teaching. I'd appreciate any perspective on thisDo you have a question you've been wanting answered? Head on over to our website www.invertedorthodoxy.com to submit a question. With many of our foundations in reason and Enlightenment-era thinking, Unitarian Universalists often struggle with mystery. We're often averse to things we might perceive as stories and beliefs that present as "supernatural." But what if "real" and "not real" is a false binary? Perhaps we're not asking the right questions when it comes to grappling with the unexplainable. About Cameron Young (they/them) Cameron is a lifelong Texan and Unitarian Universalist- prior to assuming the position as Lead for the UUA Southern Region Congregational Life staff, Cameron worked as field staff since 2019. Before joining the UUA, Cameron served as a lifespan religious educator in Fort Worth, Texas. A professional musician and classically trained singer, Cameron has performed in numerous operas and musicals, is a member and co-founder of the singing group Uptown Carolers and recorded with Grammy award winner Leon Bridges on his debut album. Discover the importance of obeying God's word against our natural reasoning—how faith empowers us to step out into the supernatural, even when storms arise
This special Mother's Day Mash Up episode brings together the most powerful moments of resilience, legacy, and divine identity from our journey together. Host Kristen Wambach curates a "Spiritually BRAVE" collection designed to bridge the gap between the practical grit of parenting and the supernatural wisdom available to every mother. Featuring a deep dive with Gail Showalter and mystical reflections on generational healing, this episode is a "Monday-morning" anchor for any woman leading her family toward a heavenly horizon.Episode Highlights The Practical Heart (Resilience and Faith): Special guest Gail Showalter shares her transformative journey from a single mother of three to a beacon of wisdom. Discover why asking for help is a sign of strength and how to navigate the "poverty of striving" through prayer and practical gumption. The Redemptive Mother: Kristen explores the "Beyond" posture of motherhood—moving from a place of surviving to thriving. Learn how to conduct a "relationship autopsy" to find healing and set healthy boundaries for your family's future. Rewriting the Family Tree: A look into the transformative power of generational healing. Kristen shares the divine story of "Amelia" (Also shared in her new book HOW GOOD IS GOD!), a 42-generation encounter that illustrates how the Lord can dissolve ancient burdens and restore the "blessing of the work of your hands." The Identity Anchor: Stop defining yourself by natural lineage or performance. This highlight focuses on your "original Genesis"—the truth that you are the most remarkable idea God has ever conceived and are "VALUE able" beyond measure. A "Safe Path" for the Heart: The episode concludes with a collective prayer and a reminder that your value is a "horizon of promise." Whether you are a mother, a grandmother, or a spiritual mentor, you have the authority to change the atmosphere of your home.
This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Molly Roberts, Roger Parloff, and Tyler McBrien to talk through the week's big national security news stories, including:“Jim Spells Seashells By the Seashore.” Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted again this past week, this time for allegedly threatening the life of the president by spelling “8647” in shells at the beach and posting an image on social media. It is a ludicrous argument. So what does it tell us that Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was willing to file it? And where does Trump's broader vengeance campaign seem likely to go from here, under whoever becomes the next Attorney General?“We Were on a Break!” The Iran War turned 60 days old last week—the deadline by which, under the War Powers Resolution, the president is supposed to wrap up any congressionally unauthorized military operations. But like many of its predecessors, the Trump administration has done no such thing. Instead, it's argued that the 60-day cut-off was already met by the ongoing ceasefire—even though the Trump administration has continued its embargo of Iranian oil resources and began a new major maritime campaign to open the Strait of Hormuz, triggering exchanges of fire with Iranian forces. What should we make of these arguments? And do they suggest the War Powers Resolution is a dead letter?“Strictly Ballroom.” The Trump administration is actively working to capitalize on the recent assassination attempt on Trump to push a federal court to allow its construction of an East Wing ballroom on national security grounds. At the same time, it's faced new judicial headwinds in its quixotic effort to take over a municipal golf course—the same location where it dumped the (potentially toxic) rubble of the demolished old East Wing. What do these cases tell us about Trump's efforts to reshape our nation's capital? And how legitimate are the new efforts to tie these cases to national security? In object lessons, Roger is revisiting Azar Nafisi's “Reading Lolita in Tehran,” a tough, yet beautiful read with unfortunate persistent relevance. Molly is memorializing the current metro landscape with her desk globe of Washington, D.C. Scott is sharing his remembrance of Stewart Baker, forever a friend of Lawfare. And Tyler is taking us back to 1971 Boston and Catholic resistance to the Vietnam War with the Divine Intervention podcast. To receive ad-free podcasts, become a Lawfare Material Supporter at www.patreon.com/lawfare. Reid and Aria unpack a pivotal turning point for AI as rapid advances in generative image tools, such as ChatGPT Images 2.0, lead to deeper questions on AI usage, culture, and habits. For example, they explore how these technologies could transform creative work and visual communication, before zooming out to a global debate where voices like Pope Leo's weigh in on AI as a fundamentally human challenge. Reid argues that while risks like isolation and misinformation are real, the future of AI depends on how actively we steer it. The episode also examines a major economic shift: the move from selling software to delivering outcomes—and what that means for jobs, entrepreneurship, and entire industries. Josette Pelatan's story is a study in grit, faith, and the long road back from trauma. Born into addiction, adopted across an ocean, and later navigating life in the U.S. alone at sixteen, she carried years of anger, complex PTSD, and misdiagnosed illness while pushing herself through school, advanced degrees, and relentless adversity. In this conversation, Josette opens up about surviving a drug‑facilitated rape, years of neurological symptoms dismissed as "mental health," and the eventual diagnosis of relapsing MOGAD that reframed her entire medical history. She also shares the 2022 moment she calls divine intervention—a turning point that sparked her healing, her creative work, and her commitment to rebuilding her life while homeless. We talk about what real support looks like, why resilience is never just willpower, and how purpose‑driven routines—breathwork, meditation, visualization, gratitude—became her daily anchors. The segment explores key character pairings, starting with Helen's complex view of Paris and her weaving as a metaphor for the story. Wilsonanalyzes the tragic relationship between Hector and Andromache, emphasizing Hector's choice of duty over family.
