As promised, this week we follow up Meerkats with our Warthog episode. Warthogs became even more loved after their appearance in Disney's Lion King movies. Timon the Meerkat was best friends with Pumbaa the Warthog. Warthogs are one tough species. Living in Africa, they have evolved to survive in some of the harshest environments for any animal. On this session I sit with an individual that has been part of pop culture for most of his life. Jason "J Weav" Weaver is an actor and singer that started off his career at the young age of 7. While most of us at that age were playing outside with our friends, Jason was building his career which he then found out ended up being his passion. Some of Jason's work include: protraying young Micheal Jackson in the ABC miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream, the singing voice of young Simba in the original Disney's Lion King, his hook on Chingy's hit "One Call Away", the sitcom Smart Guy and of course the films ATL & Drumline. Jason recounts some of the lifelong memories and challenges along the way. Follow Jason's journey on Instagram; www.instagram.com/itsjasonweaver/ Don't forget to share and subscribe!
With the release of Disney's Lion King last week, Nicole and Rolando are calling it quits. For the summer at least. This week, Nicole, Rolando and Eddie discuss the things they've realized while producing "Remakes, Reboots & Revivals" for almost one year now. And, hopefully what we can expect to see in Season 2. But fret not! August will see us rebroadcasting some of our favorite episodes you may have missed. We'll be back just in time for It: Chapter II. Until then, stay unoriginal.
Disney epic the Lion King enters the cinema with a roar. Actors James Earl Jones, Donald Glover and Beyonce bring the live action remake to the world. Does it hold up to the original or is a new disney classic been created.
On this week's episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Graham & Jocelyn are talking about Amazon Prime Original series Good Omens, starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen along with an all-star cast of American and British actors. Before getting down to business, Graham begin by having a little rant about the upcoming live-CGI version of his second favorite movie of all time, Disney's Lion King. Graham & Jocelyn ponder as to whether there will be too many differences between the original movie released in 1994, and the 2019 version directed by John Favreau. Jocelyn confesses her fascination with Beauty & the Beast as a child and how Belle was her favorite for a reason which is unknown to most people, Graham included. The conversation turns to the main topic of the night as Graham & Jocelyn begin to analyze Good Omens. The two co-hosts run down the cast of great actors in the show and how every actor seemed to have been born to play their respective character. Jocelyn reveals how long the show was in the making and how Johnny Depp and Robin Williams were the actors originally slated to play the two main characters of Crowley (the demon), and Aziraphale (the good angel). Graham reveals he was curious about the actress who played the role of Anathema and while researching, he found out the actress is Adria Arjona, who is the daughter of Guatemalan singer songwriter Ricardo Arjona, and former Miss Puerto Rico Leslie Torres. Graham & Jocelyn also analyze the allegory presented in the series as a call to action for all different political schools of thought to come together for the good of the planet. The conversation continues and it gets exquisitely deep and philosophical as the two friends dig deeper into the message, and the entertainment values in the show.
