The industry is excited by the forthcoming Trump presidency and what it means for their little online coins. Bitcoin just hit $100,000. But the mood is a little different this time. There's less pontification on the future of money and finance, less attempts at making art and culture, and a whole lot more brazen bag-pumping and sweaty gambling. In this ep, we talk about the current crypto surge, and what it means for you and your family.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week, we talk with multi-talented actor Tahj Mowry. Known for his roles in beloved TV shows like Smart Guy, Full House, and Disney's Kim Possible, Tahj shares his journey from a child actor to an adult in the industry, how he stays grounded in a sometimes chaotic environment, and the joy and gratitude he taps into through his faith. Later in the episode, we'll hear from Melvin Crispell III, a remarkable gospel recording artist who grew up immersed in the church and followed in the footsteps of his talented gospel music singing parents. He opens up about losing his mom and dad, how prayer became his solace and strength, and how he continues to honor his parents' legacy and spread joy to others through music. And I'm thankful that I still love it to this day and that I'm able to continue to do what I love to do.” - Tahj Mowry “That's one of the reasons why I do what I do, to make people smile, to make people feel, to make people see themselves in me. And that's beautiful. That's one of the most beautiful parts of my job.” - Tahj Mowry “We're called to die every day to our flesh, to ourselves, and to surrender to Christ daily, to take up our crosses daily. It's not just like a one time thing. It's a choice that we should make every day.” - Tahj Mowry “I think an attitude of gratitude, a heart of thankfulness, is where worship begins. If we stay thankful, we're never ungrateful.” - Tahj Mowry “God didn't fail me. He literally answered my prayer and He placed so many people around me to make sure I was good, to make sure that I stayed on my feet, to make sure I didn't go without. That's just one example of God's goodness.” - Melvin Crispell III “People are listening to music and it is really changing lives. And I'm grateful that God saw fit to use me because I'm nowhere near perfect. I really have such a long way to go in my walk, in my journey. But I'm grateful. And I'm honored that God decides to use me in the way He does.” - Melvin Crispell III ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! The Therapy for Black Girls Podcast is a weekly conversation with Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, a licensed Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia, about all things mental health, personal development, and all the small decisions we can make to become the best possible versions of ourselves. It's the summer of sisterhood, and what better way to celebrate than to showcase how Black women of all ages have fostered supportive, uplifting, and lifesaving friendships? It's no secret that over here at TBG, we believe that “Sisterhood Heals” and today's guests are a perfect example of the liberating impact our connections have. For today's conversation, I sat down with intergenerational besties Essence Atkins and Franceli Chapman. Essence has been a constant presence in our living rooms since the mid-'90s, starring in classics like “Smart Guy,” “Malibu Shores,” “Half & Half,” and “Are We There Yet.” Franceli is an award-winning Afro-Latina ‘Artivist,' using her voice to speak on the need for inclusion and diversity in Hollywood. During our conversation, Essence and Franceli share the lessons they've learned from each other as a result of their 15-year age gap, their keys to maintaining a long-lasting sisterhood, and how they've navigated friendship in the entertainment industry. Please note that this interview was recorded prior to the commencement of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Resources & Announcements Visit our Amazon Store for all the books mentioned on the podcast. When we recently recapped Summertime Switch, a movie Rider Strong co-started in during Boy Meets World's Season 1 hiatus, tons of listeners had just one request: get Jason Weaver on the podcast. And so, we consider ourselves lucky to make your dreams come true. It's a camp reunion as Jason remembers the ABC movie of the week and how Jason's dance moves weren't the hottest thing on set. Jason also talks Smart Guy, the advice Michael Jackson gave him to play the young King of Pop, how Elton John turned him into the Lion King and…Chingy. With a contagious smile and positive attitude, it's no surprise Jason has never stopped working and that he's now the perfect guest for Pod Meets World.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
An East Coast transplant has landed in our town to change the lives of those struggling with addiction. Passionate, smart and well versed in the complexities of the addict mind, Ozie has trudged through many treatment paths. From his own alcohol-ism to alcohol-wasm, he has educated himself on how to help others and pursued careers that do just that. Listen as Ozie takes me through the buried traumas of his youth, the unavoidable genetic component that killed his dad, high school years fueled by liquor stashed in his locker, multiple failed marriages and gambling losses that started in his elementary school bathroom. In spite of all the ongoing personal destruction, Ozie made his way through higher education (getting drunk and lost on his way to graduation) and many careers helping others solve their own problems. He put himself through multiple treatment programs, denial and lies, wearing a sign that says, "I'm a Baby" in one program and cleaning ashtrays, sweeping and getting coffee at addiction meetings. Listen as he talks about going from the crack house to the White House, figuratively speaking, in the week's sweet and sassy episode.I'd like to thank this episode's sponsor, Hudson Farms in Urbana.
