What has happened in David's life so far:Been Anointed as KingDefeated GoliathSurvived Saul Hunting HimRuled the Souther Kingdom of Judah for 7.5 yearsUnited Israel's Divided KingdomEstablished JerusalemFallen into sin with Bathsheba Restored back into fellowship with GodToday we will finish the life of David. Yes he will die, but what we want to focus on is how did David live after He was restored. David came to realize how magnificent God was after he realized how sinful he was and how forgiving God is.The depth of our realization of our sinfulness should determine the depth of our service to the King, love for the Lord, and sacrifice for the Saviour. The greatest evidence of restoration is not simply that God forgives us—it is that we begin living for SOMEONE bigger than ourselves. After David's greatest failure, the remainder of his life wasn't about making a name for himself. It was about preparing the next generation to worship God. Far to often we spend much of our life accumulating things, building a kingdom for ourselves, and seeking comfort for our days. This morning we will see 5 key things that David did to prepare the next generation to worship God and how we can do them too.You see This life that we live now is not meant to be lived for ourself but rather it is to be lived as a sacrifice to God and a service to others. 5 Ways David and Us Can Prepare the Next Generation

In this Father's Day sermon (6/15/25), Michael Gowens considers Proverbs 20:1-7, a passage that gives several characteristics of a faithful man. What is the outcome of such a man's life? The godly husband and father exerts a multi-generational impact for good upon his family.
In Joshua Chapter Fourteen, verses six through fifteen, Caleb, at the age of eighty-five years old, expresses his willingness and desire to go to battle as the Israelites solidified their gains in the new land of promise. He was by all accounts, “a faithful man” because he was devoted, delivered and daring. Even in the seasoned sunset of his life, he was still looking for another opportunity to serve the Lord.

Sermon 5 of 9 in series through Ezra/Nehemiah _________________________________________ Small Group Questions 1. What is your current practice of consistent, faithful times of prayer? Is there something you want to change in order to ensure that you have consistent, faithful times of prayer? 2. What is your practice of ensuring that the Bible guides your prayers, or what might you start doing to ensure that the Bible guides your prayers? 3. One thing we want to do is be willing to pray for grand things (as Nehemiah prayed for mercy before Artaxerxes). What are some big things that you want to begin praying about faithfully? 4. We also must pray with a readiness to obey. Is there something you've been praying about where you need to take some action? 5. Was there anything else from the text and/or sermon that you found convicting or comforting?

Matt Jacobson joins Dr. Mark Turman to discuss being a biblical spouse, the pornography epidemic, how to have freedom from sexual temptation, and the power we have amid spiritual warfare through our identity in Christ. Show notes: Matt Jacobson begins by talking about his testimony, biblical marriage, and the severity of the sin of fornication in the Bible (1:32). Jacobson says that the way Christians believe the lie that they are weak in confronting sexual temptation leads to bondage (14:36). He emphasizes the spiritual warfare around us and at the same time, the choice we have to sin (17:21). They discuss how pornography leads to lonely emptiness, and why Christians must know their power in the Spirit (30:59). Jacobson talks about practical ways to fight the spiritual battle against sexual temptation, drawing on our identity as children of God (39:42). They close with advice for parents and a word of grace and hope for those addicted to pornography (47:53).
