Billy Blue is a RPG artist and game designer. His clients include, Gallant Knight Games, Philip Reed, Gaming Ballistic, and Yog Du games. He also recently released his own RPG called TLD RPG, a rules lite Dark Fantasy RPG in which he works on integrating his art and writing into a single thing. And we talked a lot about exactly that on the podcast. How to integrate Art and Game Design. We talked about the bless/curse of writing, illustrating, doing layout and everything in a book. We mentioned a lot of other creators whose work and creativity inspires us. Honestly, we talked a lot about art, creativity, process, etc. It's an episode in which these themes come up a lot and I think that's really great. It can be very inspiring and useful to other creators. We had a great time and I hope you do too! So listen up and get weird with us! Check out Billy's links! First of a couple of interviews I've managed to record over the past week or so, this one with Doug Cole of Gaming Ballistic is on the topic of why GURPS is a game worth looking at and what the Dungeon Fantasy RPG offers the curious onlooker. Doug creates licensed products for both the DFRPG and The Fantasy Trip, giving us an excellent insight into the world of gaming with 3d6 that is hard to get from the outside. Many thanks to Doug for coming back for a second chat! Oh, and big thanks to Spencer (aka Free Thrall) for the rather... interesting call-in that leads the episode. Douglas H. Cole has been roleplaying since 1981, starting with the Holmes Basic Box and AD&D, and has been playing GURPS since 1988. Creator of Hall of Judgment, the first licensed third-party content for the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game, and also the Dragon Heresy Roleplaying Game based on the 5th Edition SRD, he is a rising star in the hobby community. For my money, Douglas has provided the best supplement for any D&D-type game in the form of Dungeon Grappling - a set of rules designed to bring to life the most common and heroic struggles in literature.
