In this episode we discuss the now retconned story behind Ioun Stones, following there creator Congenio Ioun and originally his Congenio's Pebbles. From that we create a group of magic items all created through a betrayal, which creates some fun mid level encounters for our world. Thanks to Arcane Anthems for offering amazing royalty free music for nerds like us, we used their amazing tracks Shillelagh (Spirit of Brynn) and Solemn Rest for our intro and outro respectively. The Agents are face-to-face with one of their two objectives, with the other nowhere in sight. How will our heroes deal with Immor and securing the Ioun stones, and how will they manage to find the Friday Night Fun Pals?Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/agentsofdamned)
On this lesson of Detentions and Dragons, Josh and Matt talk about Ioun stones! They discuss what they are, how to pronounce them (sounds like "ion"), why to use them, and some homebrewed versions for your game. In a fantasy world filled with +3 magic swords and wands that do 100 magical effects, sometimes it is nice to have a simple magic item that provides simple bonuses. Also, this lesson was inspired by the great pebble debate from a much earlier lesson of Detentions and Dragons
When you are face to face with Ioun the goddess of knowledge you gotta take advantage of it. Our heroes are about to journey into extremely dangerous planes so naturally they try to get as much info as possible. Apparently they solved the safer god problems and the next few are a doozy and a half. They all sound terrible. But being a hero means you jump into danger when called to do so. Being a living hero means you make sure you know where you are landing and if the air is poison. Podcast art by @DoodleKm! Want the world to see your fan art? Our agents arrive in Luskan to chase down Cagak, the only lead they have regarding the mysterious Ioun stone. When they arrive, however, the city is embroiled in a chaotic battle between the city's two factions. What do these pirates want? And what about these wizards? Why can't we all just get along???
The Dingles find some sweet loot inside the Ioun Temple, including the mythical Ioun stone and some rad frog pendants. Then, the Dingles find themselves learning more about each other as they settle down for the night.
