From Matthew Janzen of Ministers of the New Covenant Mar 28, 2023 I only get into about four minutes of the original video, but I cover a lot: The “Genesis Seed Diet,” animal death before the fall, animals eaten before the fall, the lusting after meat in Numbers 11, the Passover, and the “Daniel Diet.” Get your Bible out and follow along. Derek Lambert (of Myth Vision Podcast) Interview with Dr. James D. Tabor: • Why I Think Jesus... Dr. James Tabor Channel: / @jamestaborvideos ~~~ From Matthew Janzen of Ministers of the New Covenant About Matthew and Ministers of the New Covenant: We believe in Yahweh the Father, Almighty Maker of heaven and earth, and in Yeshua the Messiah His only begotten Son, our Master. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Miriam, lived a sinless life according to Torah, and preached the Good News of the Kingdom. He suffered and died as a substitute sacrifice for our sin, and was resurrected on the third day for our justification. Eternal life is this: knowing the Father and His Son, made possible by the gift of the Holy Spirit, a new heart and mind. After this gift, the believer is given the ability to follow Yahweh's holy law. Following this law is the inevitable fruit of regeneration and justification. ~~~~~~~ From Me: Be Good Broadcast I just rebroadcast those spreading The Word Propagate it. Share it. The Jesus Discovery: The Resurrection Tomb that Reveals the Birth of Christianity The Jesus Discovery is the story of a stunning new discovery that provides the first physical evidence of Christians in Jerusalem during the time of Jesus and his apostles. In 2010, using a specialized robotic camera, authors Tabor and Jacobovici explored a previously unexcavated tomb in Jerusalem from around the time of Jesus. They made a remarkable discovery—two ossuaries, or bone boxes, one carved with the earliest known image of Jonah; the other displaying a reference to resurrection. Since the newly discovered ossuaries can be reliably dated to before 70 AD, it is possible that whoever was buried in this tomb knew Jesus and heard him preach. In addition, the newly examined tomb is in close proximity to the so-called Jesus Family Tomb, and its discovery increases the likelihood that the “Jesus Family Tomb” is, indeed, the real tomb of Jesus of Nazareth. James D. Tabor is Professor of Christian Origins and Ancient Judaism in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he has taught since 1989. Previously he held posts at Notre Dame and William and Mary. He holds a Ph.D. in biblical studies and early Christianity from the University of Chicago and is an expert on the Dead Sea Scrolls and Christian origins. https://jamestabor.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qyrrdoqspdg

In this “compulsively readable exploration of the tangled world of Christian origins” (Publishers Weekly), religious historian James Tabor illuminates the earliest years of Jesus' teachings before Paul shaped them into the religion we know today. This fascinating examination of the earliest years of Christianity reveals how the man we call St. Paul shaped Christianity as we know it today. Historians know almost nothing about the two decades following the crucifixion of Jesus, when his followers regrouped and began to spread his message. During this time Paul joined the movement and began to preach to the gentiles. Using the oldest Christian documents that we have—the letters of Paul—as well as other early Christian sources, James reconstructs the origins of Christianity. He shows how Paul separated himself from Peter and James to introduce his own version of Christianity, which would continue to develop independently of the message that Jesus, James, and Peter preached. Paul and Jesus illuminates the fascinating period of history when Christianity was born out of Judaism. James D. Today, I used Nebuchadnezzar's Dream in Daniel 2:31-45 as the jumping off point for talking about the Intertestamental times. I'm convinced that Jesus is a man of his times, as well as being the eternal man. As a result, the history of Palestine and the empires that ruled it would have affected his mindset and most particularly how people would have heard and interpreted what Jesus said about Kingdom. I also used some historical work by Dr. James D. Tabor called The Jewish World of Jesus to talk about the history of the time. Also for next week, I've asked people to read the Sermon on the Mount from the Message as a lead into the discussion of it next week. I chose the Message because I believe that we read Scriptures with certain expectations and mindsets and one of the things the Eugene Peterson does in the Message is put things into a different way that allows me to look at Scripture with some fresh eyes.
