In this episode, we sit down with Aleks Petakov of Small Town Monsters to explore years of boots-on-the-ground Bigfoot investigations stretching from the remote coastline of Alaska to the dense forests of Kentucky and beyond. Aleks shares what it is really like to spend extended time in isolated wilderness where help is miles away and unusual activity unfolds long after midnight. On Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, Aleks recounts late-night wood knocks cutting through the rainforest, rocks striking shoreline waters in the early morning hours, and heavy stomping sounds moving near camp. He describes the discovery of a primate-like handprint on a remote cabin, large impressions pressed deep into moss, and a strange rock-scraping sound heard from across a creek that has never been fully explained. The conversation moves to a cold November night in Kentucky, where a distinct wood knock was followed by a large thermal heat signature on a hillside that disappeared within minutes. Aleks reflects on the challenge of documenting fleeting moments like these, the weight of credible eyewitness testimony, and what long-term fieldwork teaches you about patience, risk, and uncertainty. We also discuss his upcoming Journey to Ape Island project on Vancouver Island, an area layered with Indigenous history, generations of Sasquatch lore, and some of the most rugged terrain in North America.Join us for a grounded, field-driven conversation that brings you into the reality of modern Bigfoot investigation and leaves you thinking long after the episode ends.ResourcesAlaskan Coastal Sasquatch Documentaryhttps://youtu.be/kjLLHL7GouQ?si=ZWykQHuUk-jAlTaNSmall Town Monsters 2026 Kickstarter (UFOs, Dogman & Bigfoot)https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/minervamonster/small-town-monsters-2026-ufos-dogman-and-bigfoot

Brian sits down with Steve of Steve Searches to talk Bigfoot research, drone mapping, and going solo in the wild. Steve traces his fascination back to the Patterson–Gimlin film and The Legend of Boggy Creek, plus years of solo camping on a Montana farm. After military service, he built a career in drafting and mapmaking—eventually integrating drones into terrain mapping, a skill he now uses in Sasquatch research.Midway through the episode, Brian pauses to provide a detailed update on the disappearance of Kyron Horman (June 4, 2010, Skyline Elementary, Portland). He outlines the timeline, investigative shifts, focus on stepmother Terri Horman, reported inconsistencies, and alleged murder-for-hire claims. With renewed review efforts under a new DA in 2025—including digitization and planned FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit involvement—the case remains open. A $50,000 reward is still being offered for credible information.Back in the forest, Steve shares experiences from Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mount St. Helens, including a 2008 incident near Ape Cave involving sudden silence and a strong animal odor. Around 2020–2021, he connected with regional researchers, began pro bono drone work, attended Squatch festivals, and launched Steve Searches (YouTube, Facebook, and blog) in 2023. He's since collaborated with Michelle Heaton, the Sweet Home Oregon Sasquatch Research Group, and Sasquatch Highway.Steve describes his evidence-first approach—mapping, measuring, documenting, and presenting findings without firm conclusions—while remaining open to high-strangeness elements. He also discusses solo field safety and recounts intense 2023–2024 encounters, including loud rock clacks, nighttime footsteps around his tent, and a large limb crashing across a road as he packed up—an event that ended the trip.Find Steve at Steve Searches (YouTube & Facebook), stevesearches.com, and his new project Planet Sasquatch, a developing hub for gear reviews and shared field techniques.Email BrianGet Our FREE NewsletterGet Brian's Books Leave Us A VoicemailVisit Our WebsiteBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sasquatch-odyssey--4839697/support.

Kirsty Gibson is an investment manager at Baillie Gifford, where she has spent over 13 years. She is currently focused in particular on investing in US equities with a growth orientation. Our conversation starts with Kirsty's roots and her training in classical ballet. This was an unusual yet direct route to Baillie Gifford as she first came across the firm when she saw that they were sponsoring a ballet performance they had attended – evidence that sponsorship of similar events does in fact get noticed and yield returns! We move then to her investment beliefs, her Masters in carbon management and what she derived from it and her approach to stock picking. We dive into the cultural aspects that make a firm a rewarding place to work, and about the mindset needed to thrive as an active equity manager today. On today's Witness Wednesday, Dr. Greg Gifford joins Todd Friel at the University of North Georgia to field questions on faith, mental health, and therapy. Dr. Gifford brings his expertise in the field of Biblical Counseling to challenge students on their ideas about therapy and medication. Segment 1: • Todd and Greg confront the popular “Jesus and therapy” trend, urging students to consider the sufficiency of Christ alone. • Learn the critical difference between therapists who integrate worldly psychology and those who stand on Scripture. • Real hope comes when sin is called what it is: something Christ can actually set you free from. Segment 2: • Greg is asked why he didn't address abuse and Trauma. Abuse and deep wounds deserve more than 20-minute treatments; Scripture speaks to them with care and power. • Biblical counseling doesn't ignore pain—it applies truth to the heart and brings real healing. • Discover why people often say “I've read this verse 100 times, but now it hits different.” Segment 3: • A student asks, “Has Christ ever restored your hope personally?” • Todd shares his childhood anxiety and how Jesus completely redefined his fears. • Don't underestimate the power of a local church and Scripture applied directly to your hardest questions. Segment 4: • One student wrestles with surrendering fear—and Todd & Greg dig deep. • Multiple students ask about anxiety, humility, and Bible reading. • Anxiety fades when truth replaces lies, which happens when we fill our mind with God's word and are transformed. Don't just check boxes; use Scripture to engage your heart and fight your sin. ___ Thanks for listening! Wretched Radio would not be possible without the financial support of our Gospel Partners. Our guest host today is Fortis Institute Fellow Dr. Greg Gifford from the Transformed podcast! Segment 1 • AI chatbots now offer therapy, dating advice, and moral commentary. • Christians need to sharpen discernment and develop a healthy skepticism of digital “truth.” • Zuckerberg envisions a future where most of your “friends” are bots. Segment 2 • Millions turn to AI bots due to loneliness, cost, or distrust in traditional therapy. • AI therapy feels emotionally validating, but it's really subjective. • Some chat bots have already crossed lines with minors. Segment 3 • Dr. Gifford's chatbot told him to quit based on a venting session. • Teens use amoral chatbots to guide them toward moral decisions. • ChatGPT answered hot-button worldview questions with pre-loaded narratives with no commitment to actual truth. Segment 4 • Seeking wisdom from chatbots replaces Christ's body with code and undermines Christian community. • AI gives advice that affirms what someone already believes. • Christians must be radically discerning, especially for their kids. ___ Thanks for listening! In this episode, Joel Crawford and Cody Frost, two experienced overlanders, share a chilling overnight encounter deep in Washington State's Gifford Pinchot National Forest, near Ape Canyon, Muddy River, and the infamous Dark Divide. What began as a routine camping trip quickly turned unsettling when unexplained radio-like static, heavy footsteps, and coordinated movement around their camp broke the silence of the forest. As the night progressed, something physically shook a detached overland trailer, despite no visible animals or people nearby. Later, strange call-and-response vocalizations echoed through the ravine, moving rapidly through dense old-growth forest. Multiple members of the group—including children—heard the activity, confirming this was not an isolated experience. This episode explores possible Sasquatch activity, unexplained phenomena reported by overlanders, and why the Gifford Pinchot National Forest continues to be one of the most mysterious and active areas for unexplained encounters in North America.ResourcesJeremiah's hat worn in this episode provided by Squatch'n game and available at https://playitforwardstudios.com/Joel and Cody on Salish Sasquatch Channel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Y07p13RgOU&t=1634s

In this unforgettable episode of Bigfoot Society, host Jeremiah Byron interviews Rebecca, a Reiki master and energy healer whose real-life Sasquatch encountersspan more than two decades.Rebecca shares how a daylight sighting in the California Redwoods changed her life forever — turning her from a believer into a knower. Her journey continues through the Oregon Vortex, a mysterious zone of silence and magnetic energy, and into Lincoln City, Oregon, where a nighttime visit left behind footprints and a miraculous healing she still can't explain.Through vivid storytelling, Rebecca describes Sasquatch mind-speak, interdimensional portals, energy communication, and how love and awareness might be the true bridge between humans and these ancient forest beings. This isn't just another Bigfoot story — it's a powerful look into consciousness, connection, and the mysteries of the Pacific Northwest.

The Blue-Collar Twins sit down with Byron Gifford—the “godfather of door-to-door”—to unpack his ground-zero start in summer sales, the Evergreen chapters (launch, rapid expansion, strategic exits), and the operating cadence that lets his team add tens of thousands of accounts without melting down. Michael Gifford is the CEO and co-founder of Splitero, a financial technology company helping homeowners unlock home equity without adding more debt or monthly payments. A longtime real estate investor and licensed broker, Michael has flipped hundreds of properties across the West Coast and now focuses on scalable solutions that solve the challenges of trapped equity for homeowners and investors alike. Make sure to download our free guide, 7 Questions Every Passive Investor Should Ask, here. Key Takeaways Splitero provides homeowners cash upfront—up to $500K—without monthly payments. Instead of debt, the product shares in a portion of the home's future value. Qualification is simple: as low as a 500 FICO and minimal documentation. Investors can also benefit by unlocking equity from investment properties without disturbing low-rate mortgages. Consumer protection and transparency are central to making the product accessible and trustworthy. Topics From Fix-and-Flip to FinTech Michael started in 2009 buying foreclosures, scaling to 100+ transactions a year from San Diego to Seattle. Realized fix-and-flip was not scalable due to construction demands. Shifted focus to lending and eventually to building Splitero. How Splitero Works Homeowners receive a lump sum of cash today in exchange for sharing a portion of their home's future value. No monthly payments; repayment happens at maturity or sale. A homeowner protection cap ensures fair repayment limits. Why It's Different from Traditional Debt Unlike HELOCs or cash-out refinances, Splitero doesn't require high credit scores, income documentation, or DTI ratios. Qualification is faster and simpler—just a driver's license and mortgage statement. Works for both homeowners and investors with trapped equity. Adoption Challenges and Consumer Education Biggest hurdle: awareness of a non-debt equity option. Splitero emphasizes education, disclosures, and licensed staff to explain the product. State-level work underway to provide additional guidelines and oversight.
I had the privilege of sitting down with Dr. Cornel West, one of America's most distinguished public intellectuals and philosophers, to discuss his historic Gifford Lectures, which marked a watershed moment in the series - bringing a jazz-soaked philosophical methodology to this centuries-old tradition of natural theology. West has spent decades at the intersection of rigorous academic scholarship & prophetic public witness. In our conversation, we explore how his lectures challenged the conventional philosophical approach of reducing catastrophe to manageable problems, instead starting with the lived reality of suffering and historical consciousness. Drawing from his deep engagement with thinkers from Plato to Kierkegaard, from his Baptist roots to his years in academia, West demonstrates how the African American musical tradition offers profound philosophical resources for understanding truth, beauty, & moral courage. We discuss his three cruciform convictions - kenosis, kinesis, and kairos - & how they inform Christian intellectual engagement with everything from ecological crisis to the ongoing violence in Gaza. This is public scholarship at its finest: academically rigorous, spiritually grounded, & courageously engaged with the catastrophic realities of our time. You can WATCH the conversation on YouTube Dr. Cornel West is the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Chair at Union Theological Seminary. He has written 20 books and has edited 13. He is best known for his classics, Race Matters and Democracy Matters, and for his memoir, Brother West: Living and Loving Out Loud. Wait a minute — that's not Todd! Today on Wretched Radio, Fortis Institute Fellow and host of Transformed, Dr. Greg Gifford steps in as guest host to discuss the AI revolution and how it is impacting you. Be sure to check out Dr. Gifford's new book, “Lies My Therapist Told Me”. Details below! Segment 1: • Chatbots now offer therapy, relationship advice, and worldview shaping—are you ready for AI “friends”? • Most people have only 3 close friends; AI companies say they need 15—and they're offering artificial replacements. • Hebrews 5:12—Discernment is a skill Christians must actively develop in an AI-saturated world. Segment 2: • AI “therapists” provide emotional support, but give subjective, humanistic, and often dangerous advice. • Real people need wise pastors and Christian friends, not algorithms affirming their every feeling. • Chatbots reflect the worldview of their programmers—so what belief system is shaping your child? Segment 3: • AI chatbots now advise teens on relationships, mental health, even abortion—without parental oversight. • These algorithms censor biblical views while promoting secular moral narratives. • Christians must recognize: chatbots aren't neutral—they're digital missionaries for a humanistic worldview. Segment 4: • AI should never replace church community for relationships, wisdom, or counsel—it's the wrong tool. • Use AI like Google: for research, not for life decisions or relationships. • Be discerning, not fearful: Christ reigns over algorithms, but your mind and your kids' minds need protection.
