3 truths for advancing God's Kingdom. 1. The treasure we carry is…(The Gospel of Jesus Christ). 2. The vessels God uses is… (frail and fragile people). 3. The surpassing power…(belongs to God…and so does all the glory).
TODAY'S TREASUREBut we have this treasure (the gospel) in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:7For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 7:6Send us a comment!Support the show

Trevor Teel - 2 Corinthians: Unbreakable Jars of Clay by Amarillo Church of Christ Sermons
How do Christians keep going when life is hard, the pressure does not let up, and faithfulness becomes costly? In the second half of this study through 2 Corinthians 4, Paul shifts our focus from weakness and suffering to endurance, resurrection hope, and eternal glory. Though believers may be afflicted outwardly, God is renewing them inwardly day by day. Through every hardship, God is teaching His people to live not for what is temporary, but for what is eternal. In this message, we examine: * How faith gives us courage to keep speaking about Christ * Why the resurrection changes how we endure suffering * Signs we are viewing hardship as personal inconvenience rather than God's purpose * Practical ways to live with eternity in view * How present affliction prepares believers for eternal glory Paul reminds us that what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. When our eyes are fixed on Christ and eternity, suffering no longer has the final word.
In this message from 2 Corinthians 4, we begin exploring Paul's powerful reminder that God has entrusted the glorious gospel to weak and ordinary people. We are called to proclaim Christ clearly without softening the truth, distorting the message, or pointing people to ourselves. Paul also reminds us that we are “jars of clay”—fragile vessels carrying an eternal treasure. Our weakness is not a disqualification from being used by God; it is often the very means through which His power is displayed most clearly. In this sermon, we examine: * Why Christians are tempted to soften biblical truth * Signs we may be pointing people to ourselves instead of Christ * How God uses weak people for His purposes * Why suffering and weakness do not mean God has abandoned us * What it means to carry the life of Christ in difficult circumstances No matter how inadequate, discouraged, or broken you may feel, God delights in using weak vessels to display His strength and glory.

Truth that Transforms (Cornerstone Community Church, Atascadero)
Main Point: In 2 Corinthians 4:7–15 we see three ways God powerfully works through weak servants to bring life to others and glory to Himself.

2 Corinthians 12:1-10 - Sermon by Trevor Hoffman
In 2 Corinthians 4:7–18, Paul reminds us that the treasure of the gospel has been placed in fragile jars of clay. Our weakness is not an accident or a liability in God's plan—it is the very stage on which His strength is displayed. As we live between the process and the promise, we often feel unfinished, fragile, and worn down. Yet Paul shows us that affliction is not the end of the story. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead is renewing us day by day and preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. In this message, we discover two life-giving implications: we can be honest in the process, and Jesus is good reason to endure in the process. Our weakness does not disqualify us—it magnifies the surpassing power of God.For more information about Integrity Church, visit our website, http://liveintegritychurch.org Connect with us on social media throughout the week to stay up to date on events and things happening at Integrity! Send us a textIn this personal year-end message, I share honestly about a season of loss, pause, and transition—and how God has been faithfully rebuilding the work of Soaring with Him Ministries. This year brought unexpected grief, caregiving, job loss, and closed doors—but also renewed calling, expanded podcast reach, and continued ministry to vulnerable women. This is not the end. It is a new chapter.
In a direct sequel to the previous episode (which honored Jars of Clay's self-titled debut with two members of the band), we return for another Jars-themed episode, except this time it's a panel. "But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us." 2 Corinthians 4:7
Earlier this year, the seminal self-titled debut from Jars of Clay turned 30 years old. We honor that milestone anniversary by having two members of the band, Charlie Lowell and Matthew Odmark, on the show to reminisce on their memories of the album and to reflect on its legacy today. Joining the conversation are JFH's John DiBiase and Josh Balogh. Would you like to hear and even appear as a guest on the host's new podcast series? Click here for more information. 2 Corinthians 7:2-16 - Sermon by Aaron Markham
This week, we're joined by Matt Kelly's Christian Cringe co-host Katie Hampton to become one with the mud. Yes, we're exploring the career and music of Jars of Clay, the rare mainstream crossover from the Christian music scene who made their mark in 1996 with the alternative rock radio hit “Flood.” Despite a bit of blowback from their religious fanbase, the band was able to balance their success while still staying true to their faith. In the end, it was their work BEYOND the world of music that may have reserved them a front row seat in heaven. But was their music good enough to “lift them up” to THUNDER status?
