Saludos querid@s oyentes!!! Volvemos una semana más con un programa repleto de curiosidades y de buena música; mejor que buena, yo diría. En este episodio viajamos hacia finales de la década de 1990 para hablar de la banda sonora de Street Fighter 3 (en sus tres ediciones) que supuso un auténtico cambio de rumbo en cuanto a su concepto. Así, en Street Fighter 3 se inició un cambio hacia sonoridades próximas al jazz fusión y a la música electrónica de baile; una revolución que terminaría en Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, título cuyo punto de partida fue la estética hip hop. De todo esto saldrán muchas curiosidades, garantizado. Además, nos visita Pablo Naop con un cover increíble del tema Jazzy NYC 99 de SF3: Third Strike que os va a encantar. Por último, en la recta final del programa, comentamos algunas curiosidades del diseño y la integración de la música en el flamante Street Fighter VI, el último título de la serie numerada. SF6 se encuentra en conexión con SF3 y uno de ellos podría ser la música, pero es que la aproximación del equipo de sonido de CAPCOM esta vez dejó detalles muy interesantes, más allá de una vuelta a la estética Hip Hop como punto de partida. Video games allow American gamers to see depictions of America that don’t always line up with how they might see themselves. But how do VGM composers shorthand the U.S.A.? 15 years ago today, the Sega Dreamcast made its debut in Japan (the US release date was famously 9/9/99). This machine left a lasting mark on the world of video games and our hearts. From second screen gameplay to online multiplayer to DLC, the Dreamcast was well ahead of its time. Let’s take this opportunity to examine what made the Dreamcast special, and pay respects to one of the most innovative and amazing systems to ever grace our homes. A system that was ahead of its time and that 15 years later, can now look back on its legacy, and see that it’s the foundation that everything since has been built upon.
