In Larry's words:“Care is crafted from understanding, respect, and will. Once care is deep enough and in a generative reciprocal relationship, it gives rise to self-expanding love. My work focuses on creating such systems of care by constructing a holistic sociotechnical tree with roots of philosophical orientation, a trunk of theoretical structure, and technological leaves and fruit that offer nourishment and support to all parts of our world. I believe that we can grow love through technologies of togetherness that help us to understand, respect, and care for each other. I am committed to supporting the responsible development of such technologies so that we can move through these trying times towards a world where we are all well together.”In this episode, Larry and I explore the “roots of philosophical orientation” and “trunk of theoretical structure” as he lays them out in his Technological Love knowledge garden, asking how technologies for reality, perspectives, and karma can help us grow a world in love. What is just enough abstraction? When is autonomy desirable and when is it a false god? What do property and selfhood look like in a future where the ground truths of our interbeing shape design and governance? It's a long, deep conversation on fundamentals we need to reckon with if we are to live in futures we actually want. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.Our next dialogue is with Sam Arbesman, resident researcher at Lux Capital and author of The Magic of Code. Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye plays himself in his movie Hurry Up Tomorrow. The movie serves as a companion piece to his latest album. We caught this vanity project in theaters. In the movie, The Weeknd is a pop superstar in crisis who has lost his voice. His manager (played by Barry Keoghan) is trying to boost his ego. Jenna Ortega plays a deranged fan hell bent on tracking The Weeknd down. Trey Edward Shults directs. This movie was reviled by audiences and critics alike. We'll let you know what we witnessed!

Hello Everyone,I was in my feelings...Lol discussing the theme of 'hurry up to wait,' exploring the frustrations and challenges of modern life, particularly in the context of engagement and community building. I briefly emphasize on the importance of slowing down, doing research, and fostering genuine connections with others. The conversation also touches on the need for encouragement and personal growth amidst the chaos of everyday life. I still would like to develop a rapport with those who get it and want to connect. After all... It is A...Ok to do so when there is a need for community. In a world as we know it now has created modern frustration. To slow down is crucial for our own well being. Many of us are trying to find ways to regroup and to find a balance.Connect with me if you are one with liked mindvisit: https://linktr.ee/simplyjewelUntil next timeBe Well

The Split Zone Duo Sunday Hurry-Up returns for 2025, still featuring notes on dozens of games delivered in 30-ish (emphasis on “ish”) minutes and now sponsored by our partners at Dad Water. In this Week 1 rundown: * FSU doesn't just beat Alabama, but does it with beef * Arch Manning flops at Ohio State, but we won't engage in Arch Doomerism just yet. Meanwhile, a great start for the defending champs* LSU overcomes ref adversity and takes care of business at Clemson * Tennessee is winning the Nico Iamaleava breakup* Utah's line play is absolutely terrifying * Tulane beats Northwestern on the field and in the PR department * The Cal Bears have a quarterback who demands your attention * Boise State more or less eliminates itself from CFP contention, already, but it is time to take USF seriously * Dylan Raiola shows encouraging signs; Brendan Sorsby does not * Auburn will eventually need a downfield passing game, but for now, it helps to have an offensive line that shoves people around * Georgia Tech does what few power-conference teams ever do * Tarleton and Austin Peay get on the board in the FCS Upset Draft * Kent State wins for the first time in 22 tries * DilferWatch remains on high alert This episode is produced by noted USF Bulls fan Anthony Vito. Author, mentor and podcaster Rebecca George knows the feeling of yearning all too well. She was a twelve-time bridesmaid before it was finally her turn to get married. Oftentimes, what we are waiting and yearning for is actually a God-given desire. What tends to happen is we begin to elevate our desires to idol-status, replacing the delicate balance of God's perfect peace with fear, impatience and confusion. This misaligned posture during waiting seasons clouds our clarity on what God is really doing. Hurry Up And Pick A Snack!
Have you ever felt like you're falling behind in life? Like everyone else is getting married, starting families, launching ministries, or stepping into their callings—while you’re still waiting? If so, you are not alone. And more importantly, you’re not too late. This week on The Love Offering podcast, I had the joy of speaking with Rebecca George about her new book, You’re Not Too Late: Trusting God’s Timing in a Hurry-Up World. In a culture that tells us to hustle, strive, and “make it happen,” Rebecca offers a beautiful invitation to wait well—to rest in God's presence, release resentment, and find joy in the meantime. Together, we talk about: How to bring our disappointments honestly before God Finding contentment even when our desires are unmet How to turn envy and doubt into deeper trust Forming life-giving habits that help us flourish in every season If you're in a season of longing or wondering when it will be your turn, I know this episode will speak to your heart. Because you’re not behind. You’re exactly where God wants you—and He is never late. Gratefully,Rachael P.S. The Cubs had a very thoughtful plan to fix Matt Shaw's leg kick. They apparently forgot to tell him about it until last Saturday. David Brown is here to talk about the Cubs third base situation, the Orioles firing Brandon Hyde and hiring Doug Mansolino's kid, Kyle Schwarber hitting bombs at an incredible rate, the Dodgers finding the guy with the perfect name for their pitching staff, Earl Weaver's smoke pouch, John Lowenstein's stretcher prank, Jose Alvarado testing positive for not wanting to be fat, the many reasons to shun Pete Rose, the White Sox still being terrible, and more.

Getting back to normal just in time for the summer movie season to heat up here at Breakfast All Day. Thanks for your patience. We begin with a super-early, spoiler-free review of "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning," the eighth and supposedly final film in the action franchise. Tom Cruise delivers an even more extreme version of the insane stunts you've come to expect from the series. It's exhausting, and overlong, but fun. In theaters May 23. Next up is "Final Destination Bloodlines," which is also insane, and fun. You don't have to have seen any of the previous five movies to enjoy the elaborate, meticulously paced kills, but there are Easter eggs for the fans. In theaters now. We wrap up with "Hurry Up Tomorrow," starring The Weeknd as a version of himself: a pop star with a self-destructive streak who has an intense, emotional connection with a fan (Jenna Ortega). There's some artistry on display but the movie is mostly cringe. In theaters. And for our Patreon subscribers, we have a lengthy recap of the last three episodes of "Andor," and more. We're gonna miss that show, but we don't have to miss you. Thanks for being here. Subscribe to Christy's Saturday Matinee newsletter for extra goodies: https://christylemire.beehiiv.com/

"Hurry Up Tomorrow" is the new film from Trey Edward Shults, the filmmaker behind films such as "Krisha," "It Comes At Night" and "Waves." The film acts as a companion piece to Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye's sixth studio album of the same name, which was produced in conjunction with the film. It stars Tesfaye as a fictionalized version of himself, an insomniac musician on the verge of a mental breakdown who is pulled into an existential odyssey by a mysterious stranger, with actors Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan also starring. Shults was kind enough to spend some time speaking with us about his work and experience making the film, which you can listen to below. Please be sure to check out the film, which will open in theaters on May 16th from Lionsgate. Thank you, and enjoy! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on...
