Geek Girl in the News looks at the awesome or not so awesome news that will make you go either: "YAY" or "OMG I can't believe that." The latest and greatest geek girl news from November 2020 covers Black Panther updates, David Prowse (RIP), Rosario Dawson, Charmed Trans cast, Elliot Page, and why we're all just that little bit in love with Chris Evans. Honestly, on the geek girl news front, November wasn't too bad! In fact, dare we say, it was actually kinda good!? What a relief consider what a decade this year has been.... amirite!? As we all know, with Chadwick Boseman's passing, the Black Panther series was in a bit of limbo. Marvel Studios have alluded that Black Panther 2 is set to record next summer with Shuri taking a bigger role in the franchise. Here's hoping she does take over the role of Black Panther like in the comics! Sadly, the original actor who played (the body of) Darth Vader, David Prowse, has passed away. Thank you, sir, for the formidable presence. You will not be forgotten! In other Star Wars news, Rosario Dawson opens up about the alleged transphobic abuse her and her family set on a childhood friend. She defends herself, saying that the claims are baseless and 18 of the 20 have been voluntarily rescinded. Will we ever know the truth of what happened in this situation? In much happier transgender news, the Charmed reboot (apparently in its third season!?) cast trans actor JJ Hawkins! Will we be seeing our first male witch? I don't know about you, but I feel the need to binge the ENTIRE Charmed saga. And, everyone's beloved Elliot Page has come out as transgender, using pronouns he/they. You may know Elliot from incredible films such as Juno and Inception and the superhero saga, The Umbrella Category. In fact, just last month we talked about Elliot in their upcoming series about college eSports! In an open, heartfelt, beautiful, raw, real, and emotional message on Instagram, Elliot came out, again, and we know will be a loud voice for the transgender community, just as they have been for the lesbian one. We love you Elliot! Finally, just for a bit of fun, we fangirl about all the things that Chris Evans, of the Captain America variety, has done this year to make us all swoon-happy. Starting a political show? Check. Getting topless? Check. "Accidental" dick pics? uh, yup! Now playing the piano in a cosy sweater and giving sultry looks to the camera... damn, this man's got us good. What do YOU think about these news stories? We'd love your take! At long last, it's the thrilling conclusion to our three-part Call of Cthulhu game where we ran the scenario "The Rise of Xnaaki" from the Unbound Book, no longer available to the best of my knowledge! The Wretched Beast, Stephen and our most excellent friends (of the show) Will M, JJ Hawkins (of Mars Needs Podcasts) and Aaron Fever (AaronFever.com's own) bring their talents up against the forces at work in Steeplin County. In this session, we take a boat ride and practice throwing a pillow. Featuring: The Wretched Beast as Games Master Stephen as Beauford Loren-Smith, hot-blooded dilettante. Aaron Fever as Arthur Francis Allen, grumpy scholar of the occult. JJ Hawkins as Rebecca Church, stoic private investigator. Will M as Ingrid Hamm, artist with shady connections. This week the lads discuss a comparison made by their good friend JJ Hawkins, wondering if they really are "The Ramones of podcasting", Aaron gets introduced to the wonder that is Terry Crews' Old Spice adverts, and the two marvel at the act of sponge-eating. Music this week is provided by Aaron's band from another dimension, The Outline.
I'm Aaron Poole and you're listening to a bit of a chat with me, Aaron Poole, and my friends JJ Hawkins and Chuck Metcalf. In this episode of Cabin Fever, with me Aaron Poole, I talk to my friends about comic books and comic books. I'm Aaron Poole, and I hope you enjoy this podcast with me, Aaron Poole.
Aaron, alone due to Brian caring about his future, is left to find a guest host this week. So, he digs up sexy man JJ Hawkins from Mars Needs Podcasts fame. Together they talk through listener mail and wax philosophical about possible life and comic books.
As always, things never seem to go according to plan for the Cabin Crew, and this week's hope that the new mixer would arrive is dashed by a threat to national security. To try and make it up to you (and also to help us out of a jam), JJ Hawkins guests with Aaron to discuss... Well, lots of stuff. This week they're played out by Song Fu competitor Caleb Lee.
