HIIIIIYYYYOOOOO! Howdy gang, thanks for tuning in! Dudes in spandex, great B movies, and A+ references all right here in one place. In this episode, Max & Steve discuss human nature, what it's like to be a caked up shorty, Big Trouble in Little China's historical/cultural significance, Batman and if he's the problem, a good Joker origin story, how Rob Zombie may have inadvertently ruined San Diego Comic Con, Wonder Man on Disney Plus, the Highlander remake with Henry Cavill & a WHOLE LOT MORE!
Back at ya, again! The Men Who Look Bad In Spandex delivering once again...on all your favorite topics. A wide range of fun here for you folks. From Steve doing a really bad impression of Max, to why The Spinners sing a superior song about rubber bands, as well as a tip of our cap to Sal Buscema, a titan of the comic book industry, who recently passed. We also chat what's up with James Gunn's DC thing, from the Supergirl movie with LOBO, as well as Creature Commandos and more. We also dive into the worst comic book ever made, along with the possibilities of more DC/Marvel team ups in the comic books this year! Plus plenty more as always. Thanks for listening!
Deep in the heart of the Bengalla jungle, Kit Walker takes up the mantle of the twenty-first "Ghost Who Walks" to battle the cutthroat Sengh Brotherhood. When a ruthless businessman seeks to unite the mystical Skulls of Touganda—ancient artifacts with the power to cause total global destruction—The Phantom must trade his island sanctuary for the skyscrapers of 1930s New York. It's a pulse-pounding, old-school throwback featuring high-flying seaplanes, a fearless journalist, and a purple-clad hero proving that even without superpowers, justice is immortal.
We rolling now baby! Season 6 continues, with Steve continuing to shoot down all of Max's great ideas concerning the two of them writing a comic book. The power of friendship! We also chat about AI creeping ever so slowly, farther into the creative worlds of all your favorite comic related properties. That's always FUN! You can check into that new doomsday teaser with the Wakandans and The Thing as well with us...and what it all means of course, as we all know with 2026 being a big make or break kind of year for the MCU. We also keep you locked on the hottest comics you can grab at Top 5 Comics here in Grand Junction, CO. Thanks True Believers!
Welcome to another season of SPANDEX! Thanks for joining us for year 6 of the Men Who Look Bad In Spandex on Magic 93.1! Great start to your year here with Max & Steve, as Max lampoons Steve for his stupid belief in the fact there was a secret 9th episode for Stranger Things instead of how it ended. So that as fun...gaslighting Steve that is. We also chat about how people don't stay dead in comics...at all. We got chats about Batman being last year's top seller, where the Predator franchise goes from here, and of course...who else will be returning in DOOMSDAY this 2026. Hopefully Bone Saw McGraw. Thanks for listening!
We've got a legend on the check in! I was lucky enough to meet Juan Villareal a few weeks back in Houston at the Improv and, as per usual , he killed it! We're talking about his first comedy experience, fate, touring with Carlos Mencia and a ton more. Enjoy! Instagram: @tinocochino @onlyjuanv Learn more about your ad choices. SEASON FINALE DROP ALERT! Last gasp for season 5 here gang...thanks so much for listening and sticking with us this whole time. You're appreciated. Anywho, in this one, Max and Steve grouse about how much flavor is too much flavor, mostly concerning anything that has been labeled "Flamin' Hot." That'll certainly spice things up a bit. We also spend quite a bit of time going over Steve's nuclear hot takes about the final season of Stranger Things. He's pretty sure that 11 is still alive somewhere with a waterfall or 2, and me...I really don't care, as I thought the show was well done from front to back. We touch a bit on some new Disney plus stuff, namely WonderMan. We also ruminate fondly on what our favorites parts of 2025 were, when it came to all things comic book anyway! Like and subscribe or whatever it is influencers say. You got in on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and anywhere you get your stuff! Thanks so much again and here's to a fantastic 2026!
Merry Christmas TRUE BELIEVERS! Max and Steve here, wishing you a happy holiday. Steve got Max something for Christmas. Max got Steve nothing. He wanted to get him a shake weight, but they were on back order. Thanks for tuning in to the Christmas edition of the Men Who Look Bad In Spandex. We've got a whole lot of thoughts on Avatar, the MCU Avengers teaser things attached to it, and what it all means for the next year of comic book themed entertainment. We also discuss what the Grinch's OnlyFans might look like. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Happy Festivus, or whatever you celebrate. Thanks for listening, subscribing, and more. May yours be MERRY AND BRIGHT!

Hairspray. Androgenie. Gitaarsolo's. Mötley Crüe. Make-up. The 80's. Party anthems. Poison. Spandex. Another weekly dose of professional idiocy...courtesy of the Men Who Look Bad In Spandex! Thanks for tuning in. This week, Max & Steve jump right into the whole sloppy mess that is the Netflix-Warner Bros merger, and how it could affect not just entertainment, but also the WORLD! Haha...it's not that serious. Never is. We also get into why Max would draw a line in the sand against Taylor Swift's wedding. We also get into the great Venn Diagram that is Christmas Movies. Die Hard makes an appearance. Wonder what your opinion is. As always, we finish up with the must have, moving and shaking comic books coming your way, which you can grab at Top 5 Comics! Happy Holidays, intrepid listeners! Thanks for being here...
Your favorite couple of Juggalo's looking for our very own crazy posse, it's Max & Steve. In this episode, we chat about Max's ICP phase (we all had one)...why Steve is still holding out for a Monster Squad remake, because Wolfmen have nards...that's why. We'll dive into prosthetics in movies as well, and why Max would hit on his multiversal female self. Shooter's shoot, baby. Jump into our argument as well, about what Batman's super power really is. Spoiler alert...it's a lot of money. We also have all the updates you need about comic books, issues coming your way, big crossover events, and much more in the wild, wonderful world of comic books! Thanks for tuning in.

Tonight, we'll read a Snoozecast original, “Spandex Jackets (One for Everyone).” Listeners who are fans of Steely Dan may be aware that the title is a reference to Donald Fagen's 1982 track “I.G.Y. (What a Beautiful World)”. The story itself draws inspiration from the song which paints a retro-futuristic dream of undersea rails, solar-powered cities and the promise of a gloriously bright tomorrow. The acronym in the song title I.G.Y. references the “International Geophysical Year” a real life global scientific project that ran from July 1, 1957 to December 31st 1958. It brought together scientists from 67 nations to collaborate on studying Earth's geophysical properties, including its atmosphere, oceans, and polar regions. IGY marked significant advancements in space research, such as the launch of the first artificial satellites (Sputnik by the Soviet Union and Explorer by the United States). Its spirit of international cooperation laid the groundwork for many subsequent collaborative scientific endeavors. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Stephen Pearcy, lead singer and frontman of the rock band RATT, visits Google to discuss his book "Sex, Drugs, RATT and Roll: My Life in Rock." Women. Spandex. Drugs. Hair spray. Welcome to heavy metal rock 'n' roll, circa 1980, when all you needed was the right look, burning ambition, and a chance. Cranking out metal just as metal got hot, RATT was the perfect band at the perfect time, and their hit single “Round and Round” became a top-selling anthem. The bigger RATT got, the more excessive lead singer Stephen Pearcy and his bandmates became. There was nothing these guys wouldn't snort, drink, bed, or break. But as RATT scrambled up a wall of fame and wealth, they then experienced a gut-wrenching free fall. Pearcy's stunningly honest rock 'n' roll confessional, by turns incredible, hilarious, and lyrical, is more than a story of survival—it's a search for the things that matter most.
