Charlie is obsessed with a moment from the pre-show on Friday night in which Gary Lyon and the Fox Footy team attempted to embarrass Jonathon Brown only for it to turn into one of the most cringe-inducing car crash TV moments of all time. Wil rates the sliders in Big Freeze 10, a Swans fan ranks their rivals and there's a little bit of footy talk in there, too. Sorry about that. AFL Football legend Jonathon Brown recently made a great point about the addictiveness of the Chase for Greatness. Everybody wants to be part of a winning team. Everybody wants their shot at greatness. And it applies just as much in a work context as it does to a sports context. Show your team that your are building something great and they will want to be a part of it. It’s addictive! #success #striveforgreatness #winning
Hey, legends!Today on the show, we bring you the formidable Kylie Brown. Kylie is in the public eye, partly, because her husband Jonathan Brown is a well-known former AFL star and radio personality. Former Lions skipper and Fox Footy analyst Jonathon Brown joined Garry and Tim to look at the Lions list.
The Block is back on Sunday night at 7pm on Channel Nine and Scotty gave us a chat about what filming was like during the pandemic, what to expect this season and how hot the WA contestants are! Jonathon Brown called in from Melbourne and he was joined by our old afternoon announcer Deano who added a few lols to the chat. He gave a great wrap up of the footy. Sonny Walters from the Dockers called in this morning ahead of tomorrow night’s game at Optus Stadium. And our very own Shaun McManus gave us a cracking rendition of ‘Walking in Memphis’ this morning – tune in to the podcast to have a listen! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

In this episode we talk to Mr.Jonathon Brown of Brown service group LLC. One thing we all struggle with is understanding how much financial risk we can tolerate with our money. This episode will allow you to take a take to understands where you stand. Mr. Brown writes: In my experience, I’ve had dentists who claim they are conservative investors but I end up finding out they are really very aggressive. Other times, I get dentists who claim they are aggressive but they end up being more conservative. How does this happen? How can someone be unaware of how they view risk and how does a financial advisor help clients navigate the investment risk landscape? All investments require the assumption of some form of risk. However, each individual investor is unique, and their willingness to assume certain risks may vary from person to person. Market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, legal risk, and political risk are all common risks that individuals and institutions face when investing. Before we go any further, I’d like to help you define the financial risks I just mentioned. -Market Risk: the fluctuation of value due to market forces. An example would be the recent volatility of the S&P 500. -Credit Risk: the ability for someone to pay their bills. An example would be the defaults in the housing crisis. -Liquidity Risk: the ability to liquidate the asset into cash. An example would be accessing cash from a bank ATM versus accessing cash from equity in a home. -Operational Risk: the management’s ability to effectively meet organizational goals. An example would be the appointment of a new CEO. -Inflation Risk: the risk that assets do not keep pace with price and interest rate growth. An example would be “money under the mattress” which does not keep up with inflation rates. A very common scenario where I think it’s important to have some awareness of your risk threshold is when you are speaking to your family and friends. They may not have the same income, they may not be the same age, or they may not have the same goals. As a high income earner such as a dentist, it’s important to understand what level of risk you are willing to tolerate. Some investments may be more or less suitable depending on how much risk you are willing to take. It’s also important to work with a qualified financial professional in order to determine what your risk adjusted portfolio should look like. Jason Akermanis doesn’t need much introduction if you are a football enthusiast. He is a former AFL player with one of the most accomplished resumes the game has seen. He won the 2001 Brownlow Medal, is a 3x premiership player for the Brisbane Lions and won multiple best and fairest awards and multiple All Australian awards during his 325 game, 16 season AFL career.Akermanis’ career was elite in every sense of the word. From freakish goals, blistering speed, match winning performances on the biggest stage and remarkably high output for a long period of time, “Aker” could and just about did it all. Some people associate controversy with Aker’s name, however I was fortunate throughout this chat to see the real side of him. It was the first conversation with a guest that I did in person. Aker welcomed me into his home, cooked me lunch and introduced me to his family. I spent over four hours discussing coaching, leadership, philosophy, parenting and so much more both on and off the podcast.During this conversation, Aker talks about his childhood, his mindset and approach to his career, the 'Fab Four' plus his deep and thoughtful considerations on what it takes to be successful.I can’t thank him enough for his willingness to assist me in my learning journey through the podcast and in our conversations since recording. Please enjoy this real and positive conversation with Jason Akermanis as much as I did doing it.
We crossed to Amelia Brace from Channel Seven who was assaulted by policemen along with her cameraman in Washington during the protests – it was pretty full on. She explained how it all happened and why she now fears the police more than the protestors. Our mate and Nova colleague Jonathon Brown (along with Simon Black) was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame last night – what a bloody legend. We caught up with Jonno to reminisce about his time playing with Shaun. And Dr Michael Moseley has released a book about COVID-19 and how to deal with it – he called in from the UK to talk about how his son coped when he contracted the disease, and also about how to keep our immune systems boosted to prevent catching the virus. This week the Reverend Stephan Sams gets bluesy and wows us with his improv ability when Jonathon Brown raps his poetry to the Reverend's beat. Pablo Yale rocks his bald head, (no pink wig today), represents the comic community of Santa Cruz, and proves himself useful by holding Critter's phone for a YouTube live video. Qwen Mejia and Bob Hilario groove and move with the flow of the show and lend a hand with the performances. Critter scores tacos at Doña Teres Market across the street. yum! This particular broadcast is his Sunday Night broadcast from August 26, 2001, from the old WDEH FM, (Now WLOD FM,) of Sweetwater, TN. His night-time broadcasts were done live from the studios of the station, from 10:00 P.M, to 11:00 P.M. He also had a Sunday Afternoon broadcast on WDEH AM, Sweetwater, TN, that I believe was on from 3:30 to 4:00 P.M., also live from the station. "Hoss" was an inimitable individual, who will be missed by we who loved him & what he preached.
