This week's critter of the week will resonate with highly observant nature lovers. You may have noticed strange little markings covering the surface of leaves, turns out these are actually tunnels created by some of our leaf mining insects. Insects like the leather-leaf star miner. As the name suggests, the caterpillars of these small brown moths make distinct star shapes on the leaves they mine through. As we have been looking at stars in the sky lately with the rising of Matariki, there are even more stars to find in our forests!

(0:10:56) Kev: And then later in the week I heard, “Oh, this is now the fastest selling console of all time ever.” (0:11:06) Kev: And then when Friday came and I got my paycheck, I was like, “Okay, so where do I get my Switch 2 for Calvin?” (0:11:12) Kev: And, “Oh, oh, it is now sold out everywhere. Oh, and so I’m sweating here.” (0:11:18) Kev: And then I reached out to someone who’s never done me wrong. (0:11:24) Kev: me wrong, someone all reliable. Costco also one of the only corporations that did not back off of their queer and diversity stuff when the new administration came in so great, great business to support. It’s on Switch, PS5, Xbox. It’s on all sorts of things. I found it for cheap on Switch like 30 bucks. The troupe had a good night's rest followed by very upsetting morning. Tyler's cursed ring behaved as expected and he was bitten by a poisonous snake. Del healed him up, and they tried to remove the ring, but it wouldn't budge, so New Rogue suggested that Tyler should cut off his finger, confident that he could reattach it. Shadow Nemesis bit off the finger and put the ring away, but after many attempted spells of healing, they realized that none of New Rogue's cleric powers could reattach it. Critter of the week is the New Zealand Backswimmer! This week's critter is a common inhabitant of ponds. You may have seen them before, swimming under the surface upside down! The New Zealand backswimmer is cute little bug shaped like a boat with oars for legs. They are voracious predators, eating anything they can get their straw like mouthpart in to suck up the juicy insides. Males will court females by singing to them, using a special part of the foreleg which they drag on a part of their mouth to create a chirping noise. How romantic!

The troupe came upon the grisly scene of Issa standing over the body of a very dead Tom Foolery. After learning of Issa's recent murder spree, they realized she might be a good fit for the Cardinal. Del talked the Cardinal through his insecurities and tried to show him the benefits of practicing and taking a slower approach with his victims, Tyler tried to find common ground between Issa and the Cardinal, and Shadow Nemesis looted Tom's corpse. But as New Rogue was getting answers from the corpse, Shadow Nemesis swooped in and started eating her brain.
