Then we have the “brainwashing-denial brainwashing” – a bit of an oxymoron – where they “prove” that their children aren't brainwashed because they “only” go to church 7 days a week and 5 times on Sundays. We then review the spectacular fails of Bruce D Hales, from the NZ election disaster of 2005 right through to the bloody Australian election catastrophe of 2025. These pivotal events are curiously not mentioned in Strive26 – but given they have nothing to hide, and their sudden passion for Transparency and Accountability, they will no doubt be glad we rectified their accidental omission. Then we have the great OSG Money Laundering Scam Round 2, the brazen theft of the entire multi-billion dollar meeting hall portfolio, and last but not least, the $1.2 billion Vision Foundation AKA Global Endowment Fund scam – whose claimed $100 million profit has vanished like an unattended cookie in a daycare. We also address the outrageous MOG-cast claim that families are not requited to cut-off former members, with a shocking recording taken just this week of Cheryl's husband Curtis having the door slammed in his face as he seeks to have a discussion with Cheryl's siblings in Maple Creek. We, the “opposers” the “apostates” the “disaffected former members” have often been accused of bitterness, and told we should “move on”. And so, on this podcast, we step aside. Ian Arbon was present at the infamous July 1970 meetings in Aberdeen, where Jim Taylor Jr., the powerful leader of the Exclusive Brethren, shocked many with his behaviour. Ian describes how the atmosphere was tense and mocking, far from the reverence he expected from a brethren meeting.He saw how “Big Jim” controlled the room, playing to the crowd and the press like a performer. It was clear to Ian that Taylor knew exactly what he was doing. But things took a darker turn when Taylor was found in a compromising situation with a married woman; an event that led the Aberdeen Brethren to reject him and send him back to New York.This moment became the biggest scandal in the history of the Brethren, yet it was quickly covered up by leadership. He was given no choice in the decision. Stepping away from such a community meant not only redefining his beliefs but also rebuilding his life from the ground up, without the support of family or lifelong friends. Since then, Mark has navigated a path marked by resilience, curiosity, and a deep commitment to personal growth. He and his wife were able to adopt 2 children, something that isn't allowed inside the cult.
