What are your new year's resolutions? Guest Pastor and friend of New North, Eugene Cho kicked off our new series “The Prayer Life of Jesus” and shared how the discipline of solitude is vital to our prayer life, yet it's not often added as a goal in life. We live in a very counter cultural world where many things are competing for our attention and vying for our affection and adoration - making slowing down and making space for God something very hard to put in practice. Solitude and Sabbath are gifts from God and something Jesus, even the Son of God needed too! This week, watch Eugene's message for tips on building solitude into our life's rhythm.
We are so glad you've joined New North Church for service today! Pastor Rob Hall concludes our Let Earth Receive Her King Series on Christmas Eve.
Pastor Rob continues our Advent Series Let Earth Receive Her King and focused on the Magi. These nativity characters remind us that true worship begins when we receive God's love in Jesus and respond with our very best. This Christmas, we each have a choice: be consumers or worshippers. Are we truly seeking to worship God or just a spiritual pick-me-up?
Pastor Zohary continues our Advent series “Let Earth Receive Her King” by diving into Mary's story. Her “yes” to God and faith opened the door for the coming of Christ into the world and into her own life. We're reminded that faith isn't about having the full plan, it's about trusting that God's plan is bigger than ours and finding peace in the one who keeps every promise. Is there room in your life to receive God's unexpected blessings?
Pastor Rob continues our Advent series, Let Earth Receive Her King, by pointing us to the shepherds and the joy they received at Jesus' birth. God chose to announce the good news to shepherds first—outsiders who often went overlooked—to show that His joy is for all people. This Christmas season, we're invited to receive that same joy: make room for Jesus, embrace the good news, share His joy with others, and ask God to fill you with joy anew.Do you have questions about life or need prayer? We are so glad you've joined New North Church for service today! Pastor Rob launched our new Christmas Series: "Let Earth Receive Her King" where each week we'll dive into a character from the Christmas story. This week, we focused on Joseph, a simple man of trust, faith and obedience to God.
Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer as a framework for our prayer life, which leads us to the acronym: F.A.S.S.C.P., or foundation, adoration, submission, supplication, confession, and petition.Do you have questions about life or need prayer? This week, we examine how prayer helps us to fight back against temptation. Pastor Rob preaches on Matthew 6:13 of the Lord's Prayer, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one”, highlighting how we should pray when we face temptation. God always provides a way out from sin through the power of the Holy Spirit and through confession in community. When we pray, we fight with Jesus interceding for us, and under His life, death, and resurrection, we are covered by His righteousness and have the freedom to fight against sin.
"Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Sometimes the process of forgiveness is difficult, but deep prayer about our own brokenness empowers us to truly forgive others in our hearts. In this week's sermon, Pastor Scott teaches through that as we continue learning to pray through the Lord's Prayer.
When we pray for daily bread, we are praying against greed, temptations of pride and temptations of comparison. We are praying to trust in Jesus, the Bread of Life.Pastor Rob reminds us that God may use unanswered prayers to recenter us and help us to be dependent on God who longs to give us all that we need. What would change in your life if you stopped worrying for next week's bread and trusted God for today?

When we do not know what to pray, the Psalms gives us language to speak back to God. Pastor Rob reminds us that the entire book of Psalms is rich with prayers for all seasons of life-joy, gratitude, need, grief, and many more. Turn to God's gift of the Psalms to form your praise and prayers. This week, focus on one word, verse, or chapter from the Psalms to pray through intentionally.New North is financially sustained through your partnership. Pastor Rob Hall continues our God Who Hears series by preaches through Moses' prayer found in Exodus 32-34. As Moses meets with God on the mountain top, he intercedes for the Israelites and boldly reminds God of his promises and asks for his presence. A beautiful reminder that prayer is how we cling to God's promises and presence, because without Him we are nothing.Rob HallOctober 5, 2025Series: Year of Prayer - The God Who Hearswww.newnorth.church
A North Clare childcare provider claims it's building a new facility to cater for a "baby boom" in the area. Boston Community Childcare has been given approval to construct a community childcare facility after being awarded almost €429,000 through the Building Blocks Extension Scheme earlier this year. The service has been operating out of a prefab behind Boston National School since it was set up in 2012 and will be able to offer 20 additional spaces once its new building is up and running. Committee member Olga Kearns says they're looking after families across a "wide area".

Guest Speaker and Pastor Rachael Wade recounts Nehemiah's posture toward prayer, in a time of crisis and exile for the Israelites as Jerusalem's wall was burned down. Nehemiah's first response is to weep, to fast, and to pray to God. Nehemiah cried out to God and confessed his own sin among his community. The podcast discusses the launch and market reception of the new Norwegian crude grade, Johan Karsberg, highlighting its unique production setup, high-quality characteristics, and pricing dynamics. Despite logistical challenges and premium pricing, the grade is gaining traction among Northwest European refiners due to its favorable refining properties. Three main topics: Introduction and significance of Johan Karsberg crude: A rare standalone field in the Barents Sea, marking a notable expansion in Norway's oil production. Crude quality and market reception: Karsberg is slightly heavier but low in sulphur, with high yields of valuable distillates, making it attractive to European refiners. Trading logistics and pricing: The grade trades at a premium and is limited to local markets due to shuttle tanker constraints and higher transport costs.
Pastor Scott continued our God Who Hears series by looking at King Hezekiah's desperate cry for God to save Jerusalem from the Assyrian Army. Desperate prayer is the kind of prayer that recognizes our own efforts are insignificant compared to what God could actually accomplish. When was the last time you truly cried out to God in desperate prayer? Hezekiah invites us to turn to God not just in our darkest hours, but in every area of life where we need His strength and mercy.Scott DyerSeptember 14, 2025Series: Year of Prayer - The God Who Hearswww.newnorth.church

This Sunday, Guest Pastor Neal Benson from Coastline Bible Church walked us through the book of Habakkuk. He was a prophet who brought his complaints God: "How long, Lord must I call for help but you do not listen?” “Why do you make me look at injustice?” Habakkuk gives us permission to cry out to God in prayer and reminds us that even when God feels distant or silent, He is still at work and present even in the waiting! Are you stuck in the middle of a wilderness season? Will you cry out to God? Let's learn to be people who wait on the Lord. This week, would you take some time to read Habakkuk's prayer in chapter 3 and talk about it with your community? Neal BensonJuly 27, 2025The Book of HabakkukHope in the Darkwww.newnorth.church
Guest Speaker, Pastor Lee Coate joined our church this Sunday and preached through the Minor Prophet Zephaniah. This prophet teaches us that spiritual complacency is the silent killer of faith. It's not rebellion that ruins most people, it's distraction, comfort, and drifting away from urgency. In a culture obsessed with convenience and ease, God still calls His people to wake up, live intentionally, and seek Him with holy fire. Ever looked at the news, the city, or even your own life and wondered, “God, do You even care? Are You going to do something about all this?” This Sunday, Pastor Rob walked us through the book of Nahum, a hard but hopeful reminder that God is not blind to evil or indifferent to your pain. He sees, He remembers, and He will respond, but not always on our timetable.
Where have we grown numb to injustice? It's easy to get overwhelmed by headlines and scroll past suffering on our phones, especially when it doesn't affect us directly, but in Pastor Rob's Sunday message, we learn that the minor prophet Micah doesn't let us off the hook easily. The prophet reminds us that God doesn't just want church attendance, or empty religious rituals. God wants this: “To act justly, love mercy & walk humbly with our God.”Rob HallJuly 6, 2025The Book of MicahHope in the Darkwww.newnorth.church

This Sunday, Guest Speaker and Reverend Eugene Cho continued our journey through the Minor Prophets with a powerful message from the book of Amos. In this convicting passage, God makes it clear that injustice grieves Him. It disturbs Him, and it should disturb us too. As believers, we don't worship justice, we worship a JUST God, and we're called to pursue justice through a lens of compassion. This Sunday, Pastor Rob continued our journey through the Minor Prophets with the book of Jonah. While often remembered as a Sunday School story about a big fish or a reluctant prophet, Jonah is ultimately about the relentless mercy and goodness of God. This Sunday, we had the privilege of hearing from Pastor David Thomas of Asbury University, who preached a powerful message from Psalm 126 on travailing prayer. Drawing on his firsthand experience during the Asbury Awakening in 2023, Pastor David reminded us that awakening and revival have changed the course of history before, and they can happen again, but it starts with a desperate and honest recognition that we are broken and in need of God alone.David ThomasJune 8, 2025The Book of JoelHope in the Darkwww.newnorth.church
Pastor Scott launched our summer series on the Minor Prophets by diving into the book of Obadiah. Each week, we'll uncover a unique message from one of these twelve minor prophets and see how it still resonates with us today. This week, we were reminded to willingly humble ourselves before God rather than face the painful consequences of pride. Let's take time this week to reflect on how we often try to reign as kings over our own lives, laying down our pride and remembering that we are beloved sons and daughters of the ultimate King.
