In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the series The King Has Come with a raw and life-giving exploration of the second great gift Jesus brings: peace.Turning to the familiar yet profound scene in Luke 2:8–20, Pastor Karl invites us into the midnight terror of ordinary shepherds—suddenly confronted by the blinding glory of God—and shows how the very first words from heaven that night were not “Merry Christmas,” but “Fear not.” That first Christmas did not begin with sentimental calm; it began with paralyzing, mega-fear. And right there, in the middle of stacked-on-stacked fear, the angel announced good news of great joy: a Savior has been born who is Christ the Lord, the Prince of Peace. With pastoral tenderness and unflinching honesty, Pastor Karl unmasks fear as the mortal enemy of peace—how it magnifies threats, shrinks our view of God, and paints our future in colors darker than God ever intended. Yet the gospel is stronger: peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of a Person. Peace is not something Jesus gives; peace is who Jesus is—and He gives Himself.Through the shepherds' journey from terror to testimony, we're given clear, scriptural paths out of fear and into the unshakable peace of Christ: speaking God's truth over fear's lies, refusing to agree with the spirit of fear, drawing near to Jesus through spiritual disciplines, and taking bold steps of obedience that move us against comfort and toward surrender. This is a word for everyone whose heart has been ruled by anxiety, worst-case scenarios, or the quiet fears that steal joy—especially in this season. A tender yet urgent call to stop trusting the unknown future to our own control and start trusting it to the known God who entered our fear as a baby in a manger.Because the King has come, fear does not get the final word. Peace does. And when the Prince of Peace takes over a life, what spills out is no longer fear—but praise, testimony, and unshakable confidence in the goodness of God.Essential listening for anyone who longs to trade fear for the peace that passes all understanding this Christmas.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike begins a new series on apologetics by looking at Peter's call to be prepared to give a defense for the hope that is within us (1 Peter 3:15). He emphasizes that one of the most powerful apologetics we possess is a transformed life—one marked by love, hope, and goodness—as others witness God's work in us. This not only strengthens our witness to the world, but also reminds our own hearts of the hope we have in Christ.

In this compelling sermon, Pastor Karl dives into Matthew Chapters 3 and part of 4, introducing John the Baptist and the launch of Jesus' public ministry. He explores the radical call to repentance as forward-facing surrender, the humble wilderness ministry of John—clothed in camel hair and heralding the coming Messiah—and the dramatic baptism where heaven breaks open with the Trinity on full display. Pastor Karl then examines Jesus' temptation in the wilderness, revealing how Satan attacks God's provision, protection, and promises, and how Jesus defeats every lie with Scripture alone. He emphasizes that repentance is not a one-time event but a lifestyle that prepares the way for the kingdom, that true faith bears fruit, and that heaven meets obedience with strength. Join us for a powerful message that calls every believer to repent, resist the devil, and trust God's Word in every trial. Today on the Daily Nugget Podcast, Mike wraps up Romans 12:9–13 by focusing on the final three marks of a transformed life: “faithful in prayer, sharing with the Lord's people who are in need, and practicing hospitality.” He talks about how these qualities flow from a heart that's been changed by God's grace — one that stays connected to Him through prayer and expresses His love through generous and open-handed living. Mike encourages listeners to cultivate a consistent prayer life that keeps them rooted in God's presence, to be generous with both their resources and compassion, and to open their homes and hearts to others. These everyday acts of faithfulness show the world what it means to live out genuine, Spirit-led love.

You cannot live a changed life while you hold onto the life you do not want to change.
Paul goes into a testimony of how Jesus changed his life. He talks about his past and tells Timothy that he was the worst of sinners. This was triggered because he was talking about these people who think they know the law but really have no idea what they are talking about. As he was talking, he starts going through the ten commandments and he must have started reflecting back on how, even though he knew the law well as a Pharisee and had a zeal for God, was a sinner and needed the grace and mercy of God. We are all sinners and need Jesus to save us. We all have a sinful past, some of you are still in sin because you have never died to yourself and been washed in the blood of Jesus! Why not? What is holding you back? We want to hear your story of how God changed your life when you met Jesus!

Do u ever wonder how you got here? What if the answer isn't turning over a new leaf but instead turning it all over to Jesus. Rooted in Religion will leave you reeling in regret. Listen in to today's message to discover the way forward.
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT) During a visit to the Pacific Northwest several years ago, I met a man who told me he’d been heavily into alcohol and drugs. His marriage, he said, had been hanging by a thread. One day, he loaded a gun, planning to kill himself. Then he turned on the TV. There on the screen was a Harvest Crusade, where I was sharing a message called, “How to Get Right with God.” The man said, “God began to speak to me. When you led those people in prayer, I prayed and asked Jesus Christ to come into my life.” After he found Christ, the man realized he needed to reconcile with his father. So, he rode his motorcycle across the country to see his dad. That’s a long ride on a motorcycle. That sounds like a conversion to me. That sounds like a man who had met God, because there was a change in his life. That’s a familiar pattern in Scripture: have a personal encounter with the Lord and then find that your life is changed as a result. In 2 Kings 5, after the military commander Naaman was healed from his leprosy, he immediately rejected all idols and wanted to show his gratitude with a gift. In Acts 9, after Saul encountered Jesus on his way to arrest Christians, he changed the entire trajectory of his life. He became a leader of the people he had been persecuting. In Acts 16, after the Philippian jailer became a believer, he washed the backs of the prisoners he had previously whipped. And in Luke 19, after the tax collector Zacchaeus encountered Jesus, he vowed to give half his wealth to the poor and repay the people he’d cheated four times what he owed them. Let’s be clear: None of these people changed so that they could make themselves good enough for the Lord. They didn’t earn their salvation or righteousness with their good deeds. The change came after their encounter with the Lord, as a result of His impact on their life. The apostle Paul—the man known as Saul in Acts 9—wrote, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT). After you give your life to Christ, your next step is to foster this new person and embrace the changes that will occur in your life. The Holy Spirit, who takes up residence inside you when you receive Christ, will guide you in this step. He will remind you that certain attitudes, habits, and routines are part of your old life. He will help you adjust to the changes that Jesus initiates. He will help you enjoy the “rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10 NLT) that only Jesus offers. How the COVID-19 pandemic affected the personal and professional lives of Iowans.
In Acts 4:13, the religious leaders marveled at Peter and John—astonished by their boldness and the power they displayed. Though they were ordinary men, it was undeniable that they had been with Jesus. In the same way, when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, our lives should reflect that transformation—empowered, changed, and unmistakably marked by His presence.
