Every month, Josh and I will pick out an album that's meaningful to us and we try to compare, contrast, and enjoy both. This week we are discussing People Who Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World by AJJ and Magrudergrind by Magrudergrind. These two albums have never been discussed in the same podcast. Probably for good reason. But we're boldly going where no podcast will go.Music by SHADE08
2009 stands as a pivotal year for aggressive music in the early part of this century with landmark releases from Cattle Decapitation, Converge, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Mastodon. Simultaneously, a three-piece from Washington D.C. stands out amongst these. With a handful of releases under their belt, the abrasive Magrudergrind rose up from the underground with their sophomore album: a perfect blend of grindcore, crust, pop culture references, and hip hop into 27 minutes of pure adrenaline. This week on Riff Worship, Austin & Dylan are rejoined by their longtime friend Justin Swindle to discuss the self-titled Magrudergrind album! Recommendations: Caustic Wound - Death Posture Gravesend - Methods of Human Disposal KONTUSION - S/T SPY - Satisfaction Mort Garson - "Zoos Of The World" Hiroshi Yoshimura - Green Spirit Adrift - "Barn Burner" Yves Tumor - Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) Cannibal Corpse - "Blood Blind" Incantation - "Concordat (The Pact) I" For all updates on the show, follow us here: @distortion891 on Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter Tune in LIVE to Vocal Distortion, Mondays at 6PM CST on FM89, WONC.org, & the iHeart Radio app RIFFS ON REPEAT PLAYLIST: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37W4wEyb5ELf2y0YYlhRy2?si=8529ae1e880d442c

Whoa Nelly is this episode of Full Metal Hipster packed with goodness! I spoke with Avi Kulawy of Magrudergrind (Facebook) about the band's new album II, and played a couple songs off of the release. I also spotlight a saxophone-driven chamber metal sextet (I swear the music is way better than it sounds) from Massachusetts called Hadean (Facebook) and an ambient side-project from Mories of the band Gnaw Their Tongues called It Only Gets Worse (Facebook). That's a lot of sweet content to absorb, kids. Enjoy! If you’re an iTunes user, don’t forget to subscribe to Full Metal Hipster, and leave me some good reviews/5 star ratings for God’s sake! If you’re not an Apple fanboy, you can stream or download each episode from my website FullMetalHipster.com, my Stitcher page, or on the podcast host site. I’m on Twitter at @MetalShayne2000 and Facebook, too, ya bums! For always and forever, the demo was better! Episode Playlist: * Hadean (Bandcamp) – "Inertia" * Magrudergrind (Bandcamp) – "Black Banner" & "Relentless Hatred" * It Only Gets Worse (Bandcamp) – "Floral Print"

On this edition of the Livecast, we finally heard back from one of our longtime listeners, Shlomo. He had some questions for us, but it was a bit hard to understand. Also, Rob gets a call from a fellow Chromeo fan. We also talked about the tragic death of Ryan Dunn and the aftermath of his death. We played some new songs, sure to become memes like "I Don't Want To Be A Crappy Housewife", Kreayshawn and Azis from Bulgeria. We learned of CrippleWithSwag, a girl who is handicapped but let's us know that her vaginal area isn't. In hour 2, we were joined by Avi from Magrudergrind, and learned of his Euro booking agents, his side-project with Sean, his love of Chromeo and many more interesting facts.
