BYU basketball defeated Kansas State 83-73 to open Big 12 play for the 2025-26 season. Anyone can catch lightning in a bottle once. Kelly Christensen is proving that he can repeat success over and over, as he just won back-to-back national high school cross country titles at NXN, and is clearly on the Mount Rushmore of high school distance coaches.  The Niwot boys cross country team just won a second consecutive national title on December 6 in Oregon. Their 61 points set a record for the best team score ever recorded at Nike Cross Nationals, which began in 2004.The boys were led by Quinn Sullivan (5th with a time of 15:09), Hunter Robbie (6th), Ryder Keeton (33rd), Jude Ritzenhein (40th), and Gabe Marshall (60th). The girls team came in second. Heading into this season, Coach Kelly had guided the Cougars to 12 total state championships. Puck caught up with Kirby Moore's father, legendary Prosser high school football coach Tom Moore to discuss his son being named the new coach at Washington State and what it means to have him back home. 

New Washington State football coach Kirby Moore joined Puck LIVE in Pullman following his introductory press conference.  Moore touched in on growing up in Prosser, how that impacted him, playing for his dad at Prosser high school, going to Cougar games as a kid, almost committing to WSU, his relationship with Chris Petersen, following his brother Kellen to Boise and brining back a high powered offense to WSU.
