BYU will face Georgia Tech in the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando as the Cougars look to close their season strong after missing the College Football Playoff. Both teams are using the extra preparation time to gear up for a challenging matchup between two programs led by head coaches who are coaching at their alma maters.

Kevin Driscoll is currently the Director of Real Hoops and has spent the last 25 years coaching or playing basketball at the high school & college level including 10 years as a Division 1 assistant coach. In his role at Real Hoops Driscoll is a recruiting advisor, exposure camp operator & film study coach. Driscoll previously spent 4 years as a men's basketball assistant coach at Marist College from 2018-2022 and also served as assistant coach at Loyola University Maryland of the Patriot League in 2017-18 season. He was an assistant coach at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in 2016-17, and was an assistant at Holy Cross from 2013-16. After an 11-2 season in 2025, the BYU Cougars were left out of the 12-team College Football Playoff. KSL Sports BYU Insider Mitch Harper shared his thoughts on the snub and what it means for the Cougars going forward, as well as for the Big 12 as a whole. BYU finished an impressive 11–1 season but was never seriously considered for the College Football Playoff, ultimately landing just outside the final bracket. Despite stronger metrics than Notre Dame and Miami, the Cougars were passed over, leaving fans questioning whether BYU was snubbed.
