Berth Milton Jr. är son till fotografen och porrförläggaren Berth Milton Sr. och Eva Ropponen från Finland. Milton växte huvudsakligen upp i Örebro.Bland annat drev han ett gym och spekulerade i fastigheter innan han i början av 1990-talet övertog sin fars koncern Private Media Group med dess huvudtidning Private.Berth Milton lämnade Sverige och flyttade till Spanien 1989, men Skatteverket hävdade att han var boende och hade anknytning till Sverige under åren 1996 till 1999. Under dessa år tjänade Berth Milton 1,35 miljarder kronor och Skatteverket menade att han skulle betala skatt på detta belopp i Sverige.2001 upptaxerades han med 677 miljoner kronor där även ett skattetillägg på 150 miljoner kronor ingick.Skulden lämnades över till Kronofogden för indrivning men Berth Milton vägrade betala eftersom han ansåg att han hade betalat skatt i Spanien. Han överklagade också beslutet, men förlorade i alla instanser.Tolv år senare, 2013, var skulden med räntor uppe i 926 miljoner kronor och Berth Milton toppade listan över de svenskar med störst skatteskulder.2015 skrevs halva skuldbeloppet av ,kvar var då 473 miljoner kronor som med räntor för några dagar sedan uppgick till drygt 521 miljoner kronor.Redan 2020 skulle den kvarvarande skulden på då nästan en halv miljard preskriberas ,men då förlängde Skatteverket preskriptionstiden till 31 december 2024.Idag är alla hans skatteskulder på över 500 miljoner preskriberade.
