Welcome to Jenni's Pika Pika Japanese. Today I would like to tell you about the Nagoya Festival that will be held on October 15 and 16. This will be the first time in 3 years since it was cancelled for the past 2 years due to a pandemic. The highlight of the festival is the local heroes' procession in which about 600 people march with the three most famous heroes in Japanese history, Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and Ieyasu Tokugawa, who unified Japan from the ground of Owari and Mikawa in the Warring States Period. This episode, the boys are reunited with thier old friend Samanosuke Akechi as they wrap up the Onimusha trilogy and face the Demon Siege! 9 years after Oni-2-sha, Nobunaga Oda has returned from the grave and brought his demonic army with him. Samanosuke travels to Honnoji Temple to settle the fight once and for all but a fiendish trap sends him hurtling through time itself. Sam finds himself in Paris in 2004 where the demons have begun another invasion. At the same time, Jacques Blanc, a french soldier in 2004, is warped back to the Warring States Era, and must face the invasion in samurai times. Sam and Jacques must work together across time to defeat Nobunaga and thwart the diabolical plans of the demon Guildenstern! Also, Jennifer Hale is there.

This episode, the boys return to the Sengoku Era and the fight against demon lords in Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny! Picking up shortly after the first game, finds medieval Japan in a rough time. Nobunaga Oda has become the new lord of demons and his using his supernatural army to conquer the land. But still there are those who stand against him. People like our progatonist Jubei Yagyu, son of an Oni woman and a human man, who can wield sacred powers against the forces of evil. And also people like Magoichi Saiga, who has a gun. Onimusha 2 is a timeless story of heroes, villains, and orbs. But how does it stack up to its predecessor? And who truly is the greatest swordsman of all demons? Find out in this episode!

This week, we travel back to the medieval days of 2001 with Capcom’s PS2 hit, Onimusha! The basic idea of the game is to set a supernatural horror story in the feudal era of Japanese history. In practice, we get nonstop insanity that also happens to have samurai. Onimusha follows vagabond/hippie samurai Samanosuke Aketchi as he battles legions of hellish demons to rescue his cousin, who was kidnapped mostly because she’s a princess and hey, that’s like half the job description. Somehow caught up in the middle of all this is actual historical figures like Nobunaga Oda and Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who may or may not have been bankrolled by cave-dwelling hell monsters the whole time. Also, Hamlet is involved, but don’t worry about that.
