This week, Jun and Daniel sit down for a very special, one-of-a-kind episode featuring four unprecedented guests: Daniel's children! Ranging in age from 3 to 11, the kids have spent the last five years growing up in South Korea, and with the family's impending move back to the United States, Daniel and Jun wanted to capture their unique perspectives as a family time capsule. If you're interested in what third culture kids think about transitioning from Korean elementary schools to American ones, how playground politics are divided by language fluency, or the hilarious ways children interpret adult podcast conversations (hint: interest rates and elevators), this episode is a must-listen. The kids also share their earliest memories of moving to Korea during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic—including the two-week mandatory quarantine, daily cotton swabs, and the indoor arcade in their temporary housing. We even get a live, unscripted Pokémon card unboxing! As a reminder, we publish our episodes bi-weekly from Seoul, South Korea. Is forgiveness just about letting people off the hook, or is it something much deeper that restores our own humanity? Join Mike Erre and Tim Stafford as they continue their series on the Lord's Prayer, focusing on the challenging petition to forgive as we have been forgiven. From recent headlines involving the Southern Baptist Convention to the radical math of Jesus's parables, we explore what it truly means to abandon the ledger system of life.In this episode, we tackle common misconceptions about forgiveness. We discuss why it does not mean excusing abuse or ignoring the need for justice, but rather refusing to let vengeance poison our souls. Mike shares his personal practice for releasing grievances, while Tim reflects on powerful lessons learned from working with people in the prison system. Whether you are struggling with a minor slight or a deep betrayal, this conversation offers a fresh perspective on the fuel that human community needs to run on.Chapters:0:00 Intro and Summer Catch Up3:45 The SBC Amendment and Women in Ministry9:20 Institutional Control and Religious Legalism12:50 Special Guest Seth Erre Joins the Show17:40 The Lord's Prayer: Forgive Us Our Debts22:15 Why Jesus Links Our Forgiveness to Others26:30 Forgiveness vs Justice: Draining the Vengeance31:45 The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant36:10 The Math of Unrepayable Debt41:50 Choosing to Abandon the Ledger System46:30 What Forgiveness Is Not: Dispelling the Myths51:15 The Bag of Cement: Four Ways We Handle Hurt56:40 Practical Steps to Actually Forgive1:01:00 Repentance as a Posture of Restoration1:02:34 Outro and How to Support the ShowWe are so grateful for your support in making these conversations possible. A stone that listens to your emotions. A city split into rich, middle, and poor levels. And a sudden transformation that can swallow the metal around you to build a towering robot or a nightmare creature. That's the weird, gritty spark behind Gad Guard, and we give it a fast, high-energy review with just enough detail to help you decide if it belongs on your watchlist. We walk through Unit Blue's three-tier layout, with Night Town's harsh reality sitting under Daytown and Gold Town's polished comfort, then connect that setting to the show's central mechanic: Gads. These mysterious stones act like ultra-valuable currency, but their real danger is how they react to strong feelings, shaping Techos and other forms through violent, material-hungry transformations. If you love sci-fi anime that treats worldbuilding like a pressure cooker, this one has plenty to chew on. From there, we dig into the character lineup and what their machines say about them, from Hajiki and Lightning's speed and aggression to Katana and Zero's cold long-range edge. We also hit Arashi's drive for freedom, Takumi's justice obsession, Aiko's Gold Town expectations, and the way Sayuri changes what you think you know about Katana. We close with what still holds up after two decades, including the jazzy soundtrack, the look, and why we rate Gad Guard an 8 out of 10. Send us Fan MailFifty thousand people evacuate, rumors fly, and the search for the latest information becomes frantic. During the Memorial Day weekend chemical incident in Orange County, California, residents in Garden Grove and Anaheim needed more than breaking news; they needed clear, trusted, practical directions they could use immediately. Enter Victor Tran, a 27-year-old web designer and software engineer who voluntarily created a crisis website to aggregate emergency information and updates. Through some busy and sleepless nights, Victor built it into a real-time resource hub for the community, including translations into seven languages, at ggspill.com. We unpack the crisis communications problem that shows up in almost every emergency: too many sources, too little time, and a constant drip of misinformation. Victor walks through how he vetted resources, organized essentials like food, transportation, housing, mutual aid, and services, and designed the site to reduce mental load for people who were displaced and exhausted. We also dig into how he pulled official updates from the Orange County Fire Authority into a single place so residents could keep situational awareness without chasing posts across platforms. New trailers and release dates are fun, but the real story is how culture moves when fandom, money, and social media collide. We kick things off with movie news like the Rick And Morty movie reportedly heading into development, a Betty Boop film idea that leans into creator pressure and commercialization, and a quick run of nostalgia drops and merch talk that somehow turns into a serious point about what audiences actually pay for. Then we hit TV and anime news hard: X-Men '97 hype, My Hero Academia updates, and a full Crunchyroll Awards winner rundown with real reactions, emotional moments, and the kind of debates you only have with someone who actually watches. Along the way we talk finales, backlash cycles, and why it's become “cool” online to hate the ending of everything, even when the work is solid. We pivot through sports with a shockingly short fight recap, then unload a stacked gaming news section: Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase season, Destiny 2 nearing the end of active development, platform strategy rumors, and big titles like Dragon Quest and a new James Bond game. We also touch tech headlines like Steam Deck pricing, new GPUs, and why Unreal Engine upgrades can squeeze both players and creators. A hero with a flawless record who's internally screaming the whole time? That contradiction is the heartbeat of Let This Grieving Soul Retire, and it's why we had to talk about it. We're joined by Professor Tuck, Mira Jane, and Playboi to review the series from the ground up: the vow between six childhood friends, the treasure hunter dream, and the awkward reality that Krai Andrey never wanted to lead anybody. The result is a comedy fantasy that keeps rewarding him anyway, building a legend around accidents, misunderstandings, and a party that's way more dangerous than their “mastermind” seems. We get into what the show prioritizes and what it doesn't. If you're here for wall-to-wall battles and clean power scaling, we're honest about the tradeoff: the action can feel like seasoning on top of the jokes. But when the animation hits, it looks crisp, and we talk through the moments that prove the production has real punch when it chooses to swing. From there we dig into the main question: is Krai a smart subversion of the overpowered protagonist, or is he coasting like a fantasy version of “right place, right time,” with vibes that remind us of The Eminence in Shadow and even Overlord-style projection? Then we tackle the character talk that everyone argues about. Tino Shade is fun, capable, and memorable, but we also discuss how fan service framing can become a distraction and who that impacts when you're recommending an anime. We close by spotlighting the supporting cast that keeps pulling us back, especially Liz Smart's combat dominance and the sisters' dynamic, plus why Sitri Smart feels positioned as the quiet center of the story. If you've watched it, come disagree with us. A show that looks like a glossy idol story for five minutes, then hits you with a 90-minute opener that feels like a full movie and kicks off a revenge-driven murder mystery. We sit down to talk Oshi no Ko and why it hooked us so fast: stunning animation, sharp tone shifts, and a story that can make you laugh, flinch, and take notes about how the entertainment industry actually works. We get into the characters that carry the weight. Ai Hoshino's “star eyes” are more than a visual flex, they're a symbol of the persona she has to sell, even when the real person is lonely and scared. Aqua's reincarnation turns him into a calculated lead with a doctor's brain and a survivor's trauma, and we debate how far revenge can push him before he starts resembling the very evil he's chasing. Ruby starts with a simple dream, then grows into someone willing to use the same lies that once protected her mother, and that evolution might be the scariest part of the whole anime. From Kana's child-actor baggage to Akane's reality show fallout, we also talk about online harassment, method acting, and why performing for a living can mess with your mental health. And when we finally address the obsessed fan and the father pulling strings, the show's core message gets loud: don't over-idolize people, and don't mistake a marketed relationship for something real. If you love anime that blends psychological drama, idol culture, and a dark entertainment industry thriller, press play and ride with us. Homelander doesn't just want power anymore. He wants worship. And the final season of The Boys takes that idea to its logical extreme, where politics, celebrity, and faith blur into one terrifying machine that can crown a supe as a living god. We walk through the whole run, from the early chaos and sudden deaths to the final White House confrontation that forces everyone to pick a side and pay for it. We break down the season's core engine: the supe-killing virus, the V1 variant, and the way it turns The Boys into the very thing they claim to fight. Along the way we dig into A-Train's last stand, Soldier Boy's complicated return, Firecracker's loyalty test, and how the Seven collapses under jealousy, sabotage, and raw fear. We also talk about the “church of Homelander” plot, why it fits the show's satire so well, and how the god complex becomes a public performance that finally spins out on live TV. The endgame hits hard. Frenchie's sacrifice reshapes the team, Kimiko's power-erasing ability becomes the key to the final fight, and Ryan's choices add a painful family layer to an already violent war. We spend time on the finale's biggest question: when you have a weapon that could wipe out every supe, where do you draw the line before you become the villain? If you enjoy The Boys season 5 recap, finale breakdowns, and character-driven debates about power and consequences, you'll feel right at home here. A “talentless” outcast comes home with the kind of power you can't ignore, and suddenly everyone has a reason to fear him. We're reviewing Kaze no Stigma, following Kazuma Yagami's return to Japan after being exiled by his fire-magic family, only to get blamed for a string of wind-mage killings. From the jump, the show leans into tension: Kazuma doesn't talk it out, he throws hands, and his wind contract with the Wind Spirit King makes every conflict feel like it could level a city block. We walk through the major arcs with spoilers, including Ren's kidnapping and the Fuga clan's demon resurrection attempt, the “ghost” at school that turns out to be pixie trouble, and the Mount Fuji storyline where Ayumi's clone reveal pushes the series into darker territory. If you've ever searched for a Kaze no Stigma review that actually explains the plot momentum, the character motivations, and why certain moments still hit, we've got you. We also talk about the core appeal: the Kazuma and Ayano dynamic, the bickering that feels weirdly honest, and the way comedy and rivalry keep peeking through even when the stakes get ugly. Then Pandemonium flips the switch. A mysterious online game spreads magic to normal teens, real life starts getting treated like an RPG, and Kazuma's buried trauma drags him into a ruthless “Black Wind” phase that hurts the people closest to him. We break down what works, what feels like it's just checking boxes, and why our final rating is a 7 out of 10: solid, enjoyable, and nostalgic, but not quite an all-timer. Vought doesn't just make superheroes, it makes narratives and Gen V Season 2 doubles down on that idea until it starts to feel like a full-on culture war machine. We break down how Godolkin University shifts from a messy training ground into a controlled pipeline for ruthless “soldiers,” all while Homelander's grip tightens across America and the students get pushed into ideological corners they can't easily escape. If you've been looking for a clear Gen V season 2 recap with honest reactions, this review is built for you. We start by grounding everything in the season one chain of events: Marie Moreau's origin, Golden Boy's shocking collapse, the horror of The Woods, and the way Kate's memory wipes poison every relationship in the core group. From there, we track how Vought spins the aftermath into a PR cover-up that crowns new “guardians” and traps others as villains, because in The Boys universe, perception is power. Then we dig into season two's biggest plot engine: the Odessa Project and the reveal that Marie's life may have been engineered from the start. We talk through Dean Cypher's control tactics, the fallout from Andre's off-screen death after Chance Perdomo's passing, and why some twists feel huge while the payoff still lands uneven. We also unpack the Sister Sage and Thomas Godolkin turns, the finale's rapid-fire moves, and why the season leaves us at a six out of ten even with all the ambition. If you're watching Gen V and The Boys for the characters as much as the carnage, you'll have plenty to argue with us about. Send us Fan MailWe're joined by You Tuber Mike Fernie, previously a presenter for DriveTribe, he's now out on his own and doing fantastically. Andy met Mike at the NEC Classic Car Show last year, and Mike was kind enough to say he'd join us for a chat.We kick things off with Mike's earliest car memory, and it's his fathers MGC behind the garage doors which sticks prominently in his mind, from when he was 2 or 3 years old. Behind the MG, is parked a 1930s Lanchester LD14, a car that we think either belonged to his Grandfather or Uncle, or is the same model that they used to drive. The MGC is due to be back on the road again in 2026, the Lanchester sadly, with its 8hp engine, is still sat in the corner, awaiting some love. When it comes to cars in regular use, his Father's Rover 600 is the core car memory, along with his Grandfather's Mk2 Ford Mondeo.Just like many of our other guests, Mike has dipped his toe in reliving those ownership experiences himself, however, he's 'one-upped' his elders and bought the range topping sportier versions, the ST200 and the 600 Ti with the Tomcat turbocharged engine. We touch a little on Mike's time on DriveTribe, and see if we can get any inside 'dad's car' scoops on his previous ex-Top Gear colleagues. Jeremy's Dad had a Cortina 1600E, and Richard now owns the Morgan he'd previously gifted to his late father, and apparently has plans to modify it in the future. Send us Fan MailOn this episode, we continue our review of the high-stakes incident and evacuation in Orange County, CA over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Some 50,000 residents were forced to flee their homes as a runaway thermal reaction built pressure and risk inside a local manufacturing facility. We're joined by journalist Alexandra Datig, who covers news issues in Southern California, and also runs her own news site, FrontPageIndex.com. Alex was on the scene as emergency responders worked to stop the runaway reaction taking place in a chemical storage tank located not far from the famed vacation destination of Disneyland. How well did emergency managers communicate the threats and requested evacuations to a population of 50,000 people? Alex walks us through her assessment of the communications response as she saw it over the course of six days.We take a detailed look at the real communications choices that helped keep people calm while responders worked through uncertainty, rising temperatures, and fears of a potential explosion tied to methyl methacrylate (MMA). Several community meetings were held during the incident. Did the responsible company, GKN Aerospace, participate in those meetings with local residents? Should they? We discuss those issues, along with the threats and upsides, of participating in a community meeting. You can reach Alex Datig at FrontPageIndex.com. #orangecounty #ocfa #emergencymanagement #crisiscommunication #gardengrove Support the showWe'd love to hear from you. That's the hook of Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia, and we walk through why the premise actually works as a sci fi action setup before the show swerves hard into its most controversial idea.We talk about Kizuna Hida as a lead who isn't the strongest fighter, yet becomes the team's linchpin because his “recharge” ability restores the girls' power and unlocks higher modes like Climax Hybrid and their Corruption Armaments. We don't dodge the awkward part: the series leans heavily on erotic power up scenes and fan service, and we weigh whether that choice adds anything to the story or just overwhelms it. If you've ever asked where your personal line is with ecchi harem anime, this review gets specific. From there we dig into the worldbuilding around the Ataraxia megafloat academy, the Amaterasu squad's personalities and weapon kits, the American Masters rivalry, and what Batlantis brings to the table as an enemy reality with superior tech. We also compare the vibe to Infinite Stratos and 100, then land on a score around 6.5 to 7 out of 10, with clear reasons for who this is and isn't for.If you enjoy anime reviews that are honest about both the action and the baggage, subscribe, share this with a friend who loves battle suit shows, and leave a rating and review so more listeners can find the ZONE Podcast!Text us for feedback and recommendations for future episodes!Support the showWe thank everyone for listening to our podcast! “Send us a Hey Now!”After an unforgettable trip to the Canadian Grand Prix, we realized there were still plenty of stories, observations and memories that never made it into our race review episode. So before we turn our attention to Monaco, we revisit our Montreal adventure and discuss some of the moments we forgot to cover the first time around. From experiences around the circuit to behind-the-scenes stories from the weekend, we share a few more highlights from what was one of our favourite Formula 1 trips to date. With the Canadian Grand Prix now in the rear-view mirror, we then switch gears and look ahead to one of the most iconic races on the Formula 1 calendar: the Monaco Grand Prix. We discuss the unique challenge of racing around the streets of Monte Carlo, which teams and drivers might be best suited to the circuit, and whether anyone can upset the established order around the tight and unforgiving principality. As always, no race preview would be complete without a visit to the Dirty Side Casino. Our regular casino games return as we put our predictions on the line with another spin of the Roulette Wheel and Dirty Side Blackjack to see who comes out on top ahead of race weekend. Can anyone predict Monaco correctly? And did we miss anything important from our incredible Canadian adventure? Tune in to find out. Video Vault
Send us Fan MailMolly Lenz grew up in Rogers Park, Chicago and from early on, her ambition was to be involved in music. That passion resulted in a career as a DJ for a station in New Jersey, where she met her husband, who had of all things, a record store. Molly was able to curate her own tunes there at the station, bringing listeners unheard of musicians who were not mainstream. The record store literally a gathering place of new artists and the occasional live performance. After her husband's passing, Molly channeled her grief by having a concert in her New Jersey home. The community that developed, along with the amazing shows made her understand that it was presenting concerts that best represented her ability to promote bands she loved, while giving those bands an audience that trusted her musical tastes. Lenz decided to return back to Illinois and brought along her house concert, Molly's House Concerts to Lincolnwood, a few miles down the road from her old Chicago stomping grounds. There she refined her talent for finding independent audiences and matching them with an audience intent on listening and being part of the evening and not just observers. That was key in the success of her concerts, which has led to an amazing 18 major shows a year. It also highlights the importance to the independent music community of having a venue like Molly's---a place that was free of the control that bigger venues exert on musicians, and a place where an audience could pay for energetic music, given up close and with intention. House Concerts, like Molly's are the "keystone" of the independent music scene. No one is there to get rich, except in Joy and celebration of live, independent music. It is no wonder that such venues are often in the crosshairs of the music industry, looking for ways to extract money from independent artists and independent audiences. This is the first of a two part series in which the community can learn from Molly's experiences in running a house concert and how to create independent concert venues for the benefit of player and audience alike. Send us Fan MailA storage tank starts heating up, pressure builds, and suddenly Orange County is staring down a worst-case scenario: a thermal runaway that could end in a catastrophic explosion or a dangerous vapor release. Over Memorial Day weekend, that risk forces rapidly changing evacuation decisions, including a massive evacuation affecting about 50,000 people in Garden Grove and Anaheim. We dig into the pieces that worked: frequent, casually shot video updates from incident command that let people see empathy and competence, clear plain-language explanations of what's at stake, and strong public health framing from Orange County's health officer, Dr. Regina Chinsio Kwong (Dr. CK), on what exposure could do and why the evacuation zone matters. We also look at smart distribution choices, like making “critical incident updates” easy to spot on social feeds, plus the later push to add multilingual subtitles, including Spanish and Vietnamese, using AI-assisted translation. Then we get into the complicated parts crisis leaders have to own. The company involved, GKN Aerospace, stays mostly invisible until late written statements, raising real questions about trust, accountability, and timing. A volunteer-built website becomes the best one-stop information hub, exposing the risks of not launching a unified command site quickly. And as the incident stretches on, lawsuits and town halls show up right on schedule, bringing emotion, politics, and safety concerns into the response environment. If you lead in emergency management, public information, or corporate crisis response, this is a practical playbook you can borrow from. This week, Jun and Daniel sit down for their final "regular" episode before Daniel's upcoming move back to the US. Daniel shares the stressful reality of his international moving logistics, from the staggering drop in the USD-KRW exchange rate destroying the value of his Jeonse deposit, to the uniquely Korean anxiety of landlords holding deposits hostage until a new tenant moves in. Meanwhile, Jun recounts his birthday trip to Busan's trendy Jeonpo-dong and his observations from the Seoul Jazz Festival, where leaving luxury bags unattended on picnic blankets and organizing synchronized audience light shows is perfectly normal. If you're interested in the disastrous Starbucks Korea "Tank Day" marketing fail that mocked the Gwangju Uprising and led to the CEO's resignation, why Korean men are increasingly embracing Kkeul-gyeo (shaved armpits) to match the asexual aesthetic of K-Pop idols, or the massive FOMO driving Samsung employees to strike over SK Hynix's insane profit-sharing bonuses, this episode is a must-listen. The hosts also discuss the cultural etiquette of spitting watermelon seeds, the depressing reality of Korea's only legal casino for locals, and unbox some incredibly thoughtful listener gifts sent from around the world. As a reminder, we publish our episodes bi-weekly from Seoul, South Korea. Season 1 of Tales of Wedding Rings sets up a clean fantasy adventure: elemental rings, princess alliances, demon pressure, and a main character who should have to earn the title of Ring King. We start by recapping the core premise and why the early worldbuilding actually works at times, especially when the kingdoms, clans, and character motivations feel connected to survival instead of pure harem comedy. Then we get honest about the pivot that frustrates us: Season 2 leans hard into fan service and stalls the plot when it should be escalating stakes and training. We talk through the drawn-out library stretch, the way power-ups feel handed out instead of earned, and how the show teases cool ideas like combo magic and shared strategy only to drop them. We also unpack the “Dark Crystal” storyline, what it reveals about the series' priorities, and why relationship dynamics need clearer leadership and character agency if the narrative expects us to take the saving-the-world premise seriously. Finally, we dig into the biggest problem for any anime adaptation: cuts that damage the climax. When the final battle feels rushed and key material appears missing, it doesn't just hurt the action, it breaks the logic of the ending and makes the next-season setup feel shaky. If you care about pacing, adaptation choices, and whether a story delivers on its own potential, you'll have a lot to react to here. Satanic NASA conspiracy theories launch headfirst into the absolute brain-rot of the internet to expose the "Satanic origins" of rocket science. If you want to understand how devil-worshipping explosives nerd Jack Parsons became the bizarre link between Aleister Crowley, Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and the Apollo program... then this episode is your ultimate deep dive!So is NASA anti-Christian, or are conspiracy theorists just bad at spelling? This week, Judas and Lexi tackle the wild history behind the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the literal sex cults that fueled early American rocketry. We track Jack Parsons' "Suicide Squad" testing rockets at Devil's Gate on Halloween, uncover the truth behind L. Ron Hubbard running off with Parsons' money to buy yachts, and find out what really happens when two lonely occult nerds get together with some sacred tablets. But we don't stop at the 1940s sex magic. We go deep into modern internet lunacy, exploring why Flat Earth weirdos think the NASA logo vector is actually a serpent's tongue, the "Apollo vs. Apollyon" demon panic from the Book of Revelation, and the truth behind Project Blue Beam's fake second coming. From a 1960s tracking network acronym literally spelling out "SATAN," to the hilarious math behind why trolls claim "NASA" is just "Satan minus the T," we prove that demonizing science has always been the ultimate coping mechanism for dummies.Support the ShowWe're missing more than just the 'T' here! Send us Fan MailAs impacts from the war with Iran become more evident around the world, and more serious, we dive into how one highly experienced supply chain manager is managing the disruption. Hint, planning is key, but existing relationships (or lack thereof) with suppliers can play a significant role in your response.Jeff Zudock, a veteran of ExxonMobil and an expert in supply chain management and troubleshooting, shares his insight into how companies are handling this emerging crisis. More product shortages are likely in the coming months as material storage is drawn down and not replenished. What can you do about it? Jeff offers up his perspective for VPs and senior managers working these critical issues. We talk about why the Iran conflict is not just an “oil story,” but a transportation and capacity story, where vessels get trapped, lead times stretch, and costs surge even when material still exists somewhere in the world. Jeff explains how modern global supply chains depend on invisible feedstocks like methanol and other industrial chemicals, and why some specialized fuel additives are made by only a handful of producers across limited regions. From there, we zoom out to the management systems behind the scenes: just-in-time inventory, minimal safety stock, and the harsh math of rebalancing supply across oceans, rail, and truck when ships and containers are out of position. Jeff shares a practical crisis management approach for procurement leaders: map your gaps, set trigger points, segment customers, communicate early and often with suppliers, and empower the people closest to the work to run tactical solutions while leadership steers the longer-term plan.If you want a clearer view of supply chain risk, procurement strategy, and business continuity planning under real pressure, listen now. After five beautiful and transformative years of living in South Korea, Daniel makes the official announcement: his family is packing up and moving back to the United States this summer. The hosts spend the episode reflecting on Daniel's incredible five-year journey from a temporary visitor to a seasoned local. They discuss the logical factors driving the move (specifically, navigating the education system as their kids approach middle school), Daniel's evolution from being terrified of the Korean bus system to finding peace in the culture, and why maintaining a "temporary visitor mentality" for five years remains his biggest regret. Daniel also shares his most cherished memory of experiencing true, spontaneous neighborhood Jeong over convenience store ice cream. If you're interested in why Jun's lack of an "American fantasy" makes him feel more Korean than his peers, what Daniel's retirement plans in Busan might look like, or the ultimate fate of the Korean American Podcast once Daniel crosses the Pacific, this episode is a must-listen. Starting from pole position in his first race, to winning the championship in the first year, to wowing the fans at Goodwood events going sideways at every opportunity. It's fair to say racing is in his blood. It started with his Grandfather, who with a few friends used to all race on the same license, keeping a bucket of water on the paddock to cool the drum brakes between races! He regularly races BUY 1 which was first bought by his Grandfather from the factory team as it had disc brakes and kept beating him! Grant has also recently bought back his father's Mk2 Jaguar wide body 'lightweight' project which will be powered by 700hp V12 race engine, and features 19” wide rear wheels from an F1 car! Other cars of note include a 3 door Range Rover tow car, and a Mk3 Ford Escort Van that used to tow the Jag behind it. Grant would travel in the car, and his Dad would drive the van - when they got to a hill, Grant fired up the race car and pushed the van along, helping it get to the top!! This week, Jun and Daniel ditch the "News and Trends" segments for a massive, all-encompassing "Daily Life" episode. Daniel shares his recent family trip to Gyeongju, reviewing the underwhelming scale of the Cheomseongdae observatory and the endless street food options on Hwangridan-gil, before showing off his incredibly lucky $3 denim jacket find at a Korean Goodwill. Daniel also recounts a rare, magical streak of spontaneous social interactions—from hosting their kids' tutor for a homemade taco night to a five-hour, impromptu neighborhood playground hangout that gave him a heartwarming preview of what community life in America might look like.If you're interested in the traumatic, old-school Korean school gate "hair checks", why Jun desperately avoids making eye contact with the older men at his 7:30 AM gym sessions, or why Daniel no longer feels the urge to offer help to the growing number of foreigners in Pangyo, this episode is for you. The hosts also dive into a deep culinary debate about American vs. Korean snack profiles, explaining why US Doritos and gum pack a much heavier punch, and analyzing the cultural divide between Korean sweet potatoes (Goguma) baked into pizzas and cakes versus American yams smothered in marshmallows. As a reminder, we publish our episodes bi-weekly from Seoul, South Korea. We hope you enjoy listening to our conversation, and we're so excited to have you following us on this journey!Sponsorship Note: This episode contains a paid sponsorship for KimlyParc.
