Current-gen third-party games are finally starting to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, and after playing the Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo and the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta, I came away seriously impressed. Tonight on the Nintendo PowerCast, we're talking about how these games actually feel on Switch 2, what they could mean for third-party support going forward, and whether Nintendo's new hardware can finally avoid the massive third-party gap we saw with the original Switch. Plus, we'll discuss the other major Nintendo news and everything happening around Switch 2. Let me know in the comments: What current-gen game do you want to see come to Nintendo Switch 2? #NintendoSwitch2 #Nintendo #Switch2 #CallofDuty #Onimusha Discord: http://n64josh.com/discord Twitch: https://twitch.com/n64josh Tiktok: https://tiktok.com/n64josh Twitter: https://twitter.com/n64josh Instagram: https://instagram.com/n64josh Facebook: https://facebook.com/n64josh Website https://n64josh.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This week on The Trophy Room, we break down and react to everything announced during PlayStation State of Play and State of Play Japan, including Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Marvel's Wolverine, Until Dawn 2, Ghost of Yōtei, GTA VI, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Metro 2039, Saros, and much more. Joe and the crew discuss the internet's reaction to PlayStation's latest showcase, what worked, what didn't, and whether the backlash is actually justified. We also share our Star Wars Zero Company impressions and go hands-on with Onimusha, giving our thoughts on two upcoming games we're excited to see more of. Elsewhere, Final Fantasy VII Revelation received a major gameplay deep dive and an April 8, 2027 release date, alongside confirmation of post-launch Sephiroth and Vincent & The Turks story expansions. Marvel's Wolverine received a new launch trailer ahead of its September release, while Until Dawn 2, Ghost of Yōtei, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, and several other PS5 games received new trailers and updates.

Mit “Way of the Sword” soll Capcoms Onimusha-Reihe einen anständigen Reboot erhalten. Hosted on Acast. For this episode of Beat of the Month we take a look at the rest of the year and what games are coming out that deserve the hype game treatment! Of course, it's all bullshit because Brian wasn't on the episode. These fools talk about GTA 6 like it's a gift sent from heaven and yet as they discuss, none of them have even played any of the games since GTA 3, and they didn't even play that game much. Then they somehow leave out the biggest game of the year, Ocarina of Time Remake, and don't even mention it. Unbelievable. They do happen to get some things right with discussion about Silent Hill Townfall that they give about 30 seconds to and then the new Castlevania game which should be pretty good. Wolverine getting a bit too much hype train treatment but as you all know hype train gonna do what it does best. No one reads this bullshit anyway so I can say whatever I want here. Spiral thinks he's hot shit in Fantasy Draft with Onimusha and some other bullshit getting good scores, but Ocarina of Time and Order of the Sinking Star (another game they omitted from talking about) are going to turn things around really quick.Anyway, grab your headphones and join this damn shit show for the next hour and some odd minutes. Sure, there's a lot of anger in our ecosystem right now, but what about all that's upcoming, all that could potentially change our moods? For instance, God of War: Laufey has received a February '27 release date, while compelling rumors indicate Naughty Dog's long-awaited Intergalactic may also grace PlayStation 5 in 2027. With Arc System Works promising tons of fixes for Marvel Tokon (especially on PC) in time for its imminent launch, and with Wolverine just around the corner -- not to mention a ton of third-party fare, too -- maybe it's time we lighten up a little bit. Plus: Dragon Age is seemingly dead, Square Enix lives in perpetual fear of the potential scale of a Final Fantasy VI remake, Crazy Taxi: World Tour solicits players for closed tests, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Why do so many people seem so hostile towards so-called "Gun and Ball" gamers? Is Sony's ever-struggling PlayStation Network ready for the crush it will experience with Grand Theft Auto VI? Does PS5 console exclusive Silent Hill: Townfall's approach to stealth and avoidant gameplay interest us? Will Dustin ever return to the show, or is he too busy going to Ohio to find physical games? PlayStation's self-inflicted physical games fiasco is nearing a month deep, and it seems fairly obvious at this point that nothing's going to change. The good news is that -- amongst all the chatter, arguing, and prognostication -- comes more info from the American market that indicates that Sony is pissing people off, yes, but also making a seemingly rational commercial decision from their perspective. Thus, we find ourselves in a continued bind: Through all of the screaming and insulting is salient data, should one be willing to look with sober eyes. We discuss. Plus: Marathon loses its game director, Bethesda vows to deliver a lot more Fallout, Rebel Wolves promises Mass Effect-like save migration for its nascent Blood of Dawnwalker series, NBA 2K27 skips PlayStation 4, Kratos gets recast in Amazon's God of War series, and more. We then wrap things up, as we always do, with listener inquiries from our audience. What are our expectations for Until Dawn 2? Did the elimination of crunch culture in some corners of the industry have unexpected downstream effects? Should Grand Theft Auto be held to account for the real-world violence it potentially inspires? Has Colin created a new mosquito bite-obliterating trend? As Capcom gears up to soft reboot dormant franchise Onimusha, we look back a quarter of a century to its origins, 2001's Onimusha: Warlords. Leon, Chris Worthington, James and Michiel suck Genma souls like it's Luigi's haunted hotel in this tricky, Spenceresque Sengoku Mansion. We also talk about the game's interface, systems, challenge and - with contributions from the listeners - some of the changes made to both the Xbox version and the more recent remaster.
It seems that no matter where one looks in the gaming industry, there's bad news on the horizon. Such is certainly the case with Sony, as the Japanese company announced two pieces of bad news concurrent to one another: That beginning in 2028, PlayStation hardware will no longer receive disc-based releases, and that by next summer, you will no longer be able to buy digital PS3 and Vita games. All things considered, the latter is a more understandable decision (after all, Sony tried to do this back in 2021 before pulling back), but the former situation has set the PlayStation fanbase alight in a way we've not seen since perhaps 2011, if not 2006, both extremely ominous years in the brand's history. We discuss both topics in great detail, incorporate a ton of your inquiries, and try to make sense of what's happening from every conceivable angle. There's other news this week, too, including Sony's stance on hardware subsidies, PlayStation's continuing commitment to the games-as-a-service sector, new roster additions for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Is Exodus' scrapping of its in-game character creator a sign of things to come? Why are some publishers and developers so secretive with sales figures? What potential ideas could emulate the interplay between EVE Online and Dust-514? Did Dustin answer the Dustin-signal that Colin sent into the atmospheric ether? Hey, Kids! Paul and Josh dust off their katanas and dive into Onimusha—the game that asked, "What if samurai fought demons... and tank controls?" We slice, dice, absorb enough souls to concern a therapist, and try to remember which door needed the crest shaped like a left-handed angry octopus. Is this PS2 legend still a masterpiece, or has time been the biggest demon of them all? Tune in before Josh starts trying to parry every conversation.

It's Day 3 of Summer Game Fest 2026, and I sat down with content creator Cam Hawkins to break down the best games of the show.We get into Cam's game of the show — Phantom Blade Zero and its razor-sharp parry combat — a stunning hands-off Onimusha demo (and how the two release just a month apart), the absolutely stacked fall release calendar around GTA VI, the Resident Evil Code Veronica remake, and Forever Ago, an emotional Annapurna indie about an old man grieving his wife on a road trip. Plus the games we missed (Clutch, Bub), the show's big horror lineup (Saw: Genesis, Silent Hill: Townfall, Alien: Isolation 2), the methodical combat of Stranger in Heaven, and why there were almost no sports games at SGF this year.
