In this teaching, we will discuss the importance of caring for your local community and how you can get involved in CarePortal. At BattleCreek Church, we believe that reaching out to our community is an essential part of living out our faith. Through our Outreach programs, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us. One of the ways we do this is through CarePortal. CarePortal is a powerful tool that connects the needs of local families with the resources and support of our church community. By joining CarePortal, you have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of those in need by providing resources to fulfill a need. Whether you're familiar with Care Portal or new to the concept, this message will inspire you to step into the mess and care for others just as Jesus did. Don't miss this opportunity to discover how you can make a difference in someone's life, no matter how small the act may seem. If you've ever wondered what it means to truly care and how to do it well, this sermon is for you. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe for more messages like this. And if you're new here, welcome! We're so glad you're with us today. To register for CarePortal:

In this homily on the Fifth Sunday in Lent and “Outreach Sunday” at St. George, The Rev. Dr. James E. Taylor, Rector of St. George Episcopal Church, tells us that pressing on with Jesus is the only way to be right with God. A God who came among us gently, lived wonderfully, taught truthfully, died violently, has risen triumphantly, empowers generously and remains our companion steadfastly. No words can contain God. No effort can stop the power of the Holy Spirit. The best thing is to proclaim God's Word. That's the whole point. For Global Outreach Sunday, we hear from Dr. Don Alban, professor of Intercultural Studies at Liberty University. Why do bad things happen to our world
God's Love for the vulnerable is immeasurable, and He wants to inspire us to take opportunities to move with Him as he moves towards the “poor” and the lost to lift them up in His loving embrace.

During World War 2, Winston Churchill rallied the coal industry to produce even more coal, which would push the Allies to victory. Even though these coal miners would be far underground with their faces to the coal-- it was their sacrifice in the darkness that would make all the difference. In the Gospels, one of the most unheralded and underappreciated of Jesus' disciples was Andrew--- Peter's brother. Even though Andrew served in relative obscurity, he was a tremendous disciple who had a tender heart for Christ and a knack for bringing people to Jesus. Why is Andrew a disciple we should emulate? -Outreach Sunday, "Church in the Park" 2017.
