Drew shares a story about working out in an exercise class provided by the hotel, Corey gets roasted for being the fat clumsy dumb fuck you all know and love, and the Bob Seger Vs. The Celtics fall to the Embiid-less 76ers 119-115 and go down 1-0 in the 2nd round. The blueprint for beating Philly has always been "Let Embiid cook and shut everyone else down" and when Embiid isn't there, it's a little hard to implement that strategy. The Celtics were all out of sorts defensively and looked really bad. Offensively, the Celtics came out of the gates firing and looking like the best offense the NBA has ever seen but that cooled off as well. The Celtics scored 38pts in the first quarter on 17-20 from the field while getting almost all of their points in the paint off of great ball and player movement. A lot of that movement stopped in the remaining 3 quarters. Tatum was sensational in this one scoring 39pts with only 5 3pt attempts. He finally became more aggressive, as did most of the team and we saw that as we outscored the 76ers 66-42 in the paint. While the offense certainly cooled down after the first quarter, it was still pretty good throughout most of this game. The one negative from the offense was the ridiculous amount of turnovers and the timeliness of them. We gave up 20pts off our 16 turnovers including one of the biggest boneheaded turnovers in the world, after an already horrible possession, by Brogdon giving Maxey a wide open layup to go up 114-113 with :30 left. Defensively, our biggest issue was pick and roll defense once again. After getting torched that way by Trae in the first round, Harden comes out and puts on a masterclass scoring 45pts. As if that wasn't impressive enough, they also had guys like Melton who had 17pts in the first half and Maxey with 26pts in the game. There is still a lot that the Celtics need to prove on the defensive end but some of that might be fixed with simple rotation adjustments. After playing pretty well defensively, Timelord got little to no time in the 4th quarter and nothing down the stretch. Grant only played 4 minutes in this one and, even without Embiid, Philly is a big enough team where he should be getting more time especially in a game where Al's shot wasn't falling. Overall, this was a really tough game to lose without Embiid on the floor. Celtics look to bounce back Wednesday night and even up this series. Ulla Vangelis – Leslie Reggie Carlisle – John (Beta) Trae Mowaka- Jesse Jack Nash – John (Prime) GM- Tod Foley Trae tosses the canister and lid to Ulla. Examining the interior of the lid, she's shocked to find a message embossed into the metal: "YOU WILL RETURN WHAT YOU HAVE TAKEN." She shows it to the others. Ulla comes clean and tells them about the experimental implants in her head. She was "designed," she explains, to function as a first-generation cyber-assassin for Wolfram. The system in her head is worth billions. She actually performed several missions for them -- including one that took out an important lieutenant of their enemy "The Fate Broker" and his army of "whisperer" informants -- but eventually she grew tired of their mistreatment and fled. They continue walking eastward, talking as they go. Ulla is experimenting with her new senses, mastering the use of this nano-swarm like a new skill, and becoming hyper-aware of things in her general area. Ulla becomes aware that there is a group of people about 300 meters ahead: they're a little bit below ground. Trae sends a drone ahead and locates an underground door. Nash and Reggie decide they'll go in first and Nash knocks on the door. The door cracks open a bit and a large gruff man in a mining helmet stares out at them. The man pulls a cigar out of his mouth and barks: "PEOPLE OR STATE?" Surprised, Nash assures the man that they have nothing to do with any city or state, so... "I'm gonna say people. The man opens the door for them and shakes everyone's hands. "My name's Exo, and I run this place. He leads them down a set of rickety stairs to a massive subterranean complex, all recycled wood and scavenged machinery. "Welcome to Tube City," he says. Exo leads them deeper into the complex. A workshift is just ending, and a crew of miners comes up the tunnel toward them. The foreman of the off-duty shift introduces himself as "Blinky," Ulla asks what exactly they're working on. Exo looks at her. "Why the tunnel, of course! We're gonna finish the job we came here to do!" He explains that they "hit a few snags" when the city abandoned the project. We'll be there in a year, maybe two. Are they ready for us? NO!" He rallies the others up around him, shouting "People over State!" Fists are raised, slogans are chanted. Nash asks Exo what they plan to do when the tunnel is completed. Exo tells him that they're already in touch with some people who'll be helping from inside. "When we finally break through, it's Revolution Time, son." Trae asks who those people on the inside might be. Exo laughs at him, and hands them off to Blinky. "Get these people a meal," he says & walks away. Blinky takes them back up tunnel to a small eatery where they have some lizard stew and hardtack crackers. Blinky explains how the job of digging the tunnel was a lot easier when they had the old automated equipment and AI, but now they're doing it "the old fashioned way: a lotta shoulder and back work." Trae asks him about the smaller tunnels Exo had mentioned. The foreman says they keep those tunnels sealed for a reason. Ulla notices that Whisper is hiding behind a nearby table. She coaxes the kid over and begins asking questions in a soothing voice. The kid listens intently and moves slowly closer, but doesn't speak. Finally the child is close enough to touch Ulla's knee, and leans in close to her ear. "I like you," says Whisper -- snugging in even closer until their lips are grazing her ear -- and then: "Please take me away from here." http://daytrippersrpg.com https://www.patreon.com/asif Twitter https://twitter.com/CORErpgsystem CORE on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/corerpg/ CORE Discord https://discord.gg/eM5u4XesXr CORE Products: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?filters=100202_0_0_0_0 https://www.etsy.com/shop/MidwestResinGeek https://www.patreon.com/legendsoftabletop Theme music created by Brett Miller http://www.brettmillermusic.net/

HOUR 1: Did Trae Young just renew his rep as a playoff killer? Your best audio of the day in Sound Check. DA's Champ & Chump.
The Celtics were up with 111-99 with 5:24 left in this game and managed to lose 119-117. The Celtics did a great job all night of taking good care of the ball. They only had 2 turnovers at half, 4 after the 3rd quarter and then added on another 5 late in that 4th quarter. When the Hawks were making their comeback, Tatum throws the ball away and should've gotten called for a transition take foul which would've hurt us even more but then Trae hits a 3. Very next possession, Smart turns the ball over and Trae hits another deep 3 tying the game at 111. Then we get another moving screen from Smart followed by another dumb foul by Smart on Trae at halfcourt giving him FTs to go up 116-115. This was an all out collapse riddled with dumb turnovers and fouls after a full game of playing pretty well. What hurts even more about this loss is we had some guys that came in and stepped up to the pressure and it wasn't enough. JB was excellent in this one with 35pts 7reb 5ast on 15-23 from the field and was super aggressive getting to his spots all night long. Derrick White was great in this adding in 18pts including 2 clutch FTs to go up 117-116 with 7sec left right before Trae hit that dagger 3 with 1.8sec left. Horford, despite having another mediocre night offensively, stepped up again with 5blks alongside 5ast and a stl. I'll even give credit to Mazzulla who used his timeouts beautifully tonight, the rotations were great and even unexpected a bit. The Celtics became stagnant and watched the lead slip away a bit and he puts Blake in to insert some energy and the Celtics immediately go on a 5-0 run to extend the lead back up. Then the play call at the end getting Derrick White the ball to attack Trae was brilliant as well. There were so many things that were done well but the lead we built up wasn't enough to withstand the collapse we experienced late in the 4th. Kevin and Glen examine all aspects of the Atlanta Hawks' Game 5 win in Boston over the Celtics, including the astounding second-half performance from Trae Young.
Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith did their pre-draft press conference yesterday as we are now 24 hours away from the 2023 NFL Draft. The Atlanta Falcons has a pretty good idea of who could potentially be impact players in 2023. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste continued with their annual ATL Day Ones mock draft. Secondly, Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks to victory on the road against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. With Dejounte Murray being suspended, it was imperative that Young established himself early on. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste discussed how cool it was to see Young having fun playing basketball again. Lastly, with the Hawks extending the series to game six against the Celtics, Janet Jackson had to move their concert from Thursday to Friday. Tenitra watched Jarvis apologize for the assumption he made in For The Culture. Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. In this episode, I'm solo and jumping into a few different things. We're going to start with the Trae Young dominance and Boston breakdown in the fourth quarter, where Trae dropped 38 points and 13 assists on his way to beating Boston on the road 119-117 to force Game 6 back in Atlanta with Dejounte Murray back. Some tape there on how Trae attacked Boston in the fourth. Then, we'll do a quick deep dive into Jimmy Butler's 56-point masterclass against Milwaukee. I dive into the tape, explain why Jimmy is essentially built to beat the Milwaukee defensive structure with his game. Next, we dive into the two Western Conference games, where the Denver Nuggets moved on against Minnesota Timberwolves, and Phoenix Suns moved on against the Clippers to set up a potentially awesome playoff series. The Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks 129-121 and take a 3-1 series lead! Mazzulla has talked all year about winning the margins and that is what the Celtics did tonight. After getting destroyed on the boards in Game 3, we saw the Celtics outrebound the Hawks 49-42. We also saw the Celtics beat them 18-8 in fast break pts, 56-44 with pts in the paint and 5-4 in blocks. Obviously winning the margins is important but having guys step up is just as important. JB started this game 1-9 from the field and then took his mask off and went nuclear. He ended the game with 31pts 4reb 3ast on 12-22 from the field and 3-4 from 3 so if you do the math out there, he was 11-13 from the field after taking his mask off. Tatum also had a tough start offensively but, like JB, also ended up with 31pts. The shooting splits were much less efficient than JB BUT he did go 11-12 from the FT line which made up for it. Tatum also put out an All Defensive performance with 3 highlight blocks in this one. Outside of the Jays, we had some really solid performances throughout. Marcus Smart was excellent once again with 19pts 4reb 4ast on a very efficient 8-14 from the field and 3-8 from 3 but also came up with a couple of massive defensive plays. Timelord was huge in this one adding 13pts and 15reb along with one of the biggest hustle plays of the night diving on the floor preventing a JB turnover and punching the ball right back to JB for a huge dunk to go up 123-113 late in this one. Derrick White and Brogdon both played really well in this one as well contributing at a super high level while also adding serious efficiency. Horford, despite going scoreless in tonight's game on his 2 failed shot attempts actually played pretty well also as he led the team in plus/minus (+17), assists (5) and steals (2). This was a really solid game offensively. Defensively, the Celtics came out really strong but, once again, really struggled defending Trae using drop coverage in the 2nd half. To put things in perspective, we held the Hawks to just 53pts in the 1st half and gave up 68 in the 2nd half. Celtics still have some stuff to clean up BUT they came away with a 3-1 series lead and a chance to wrap this series up in Game 5 on our home court! On this preview we talked about Draymond Green's game three suspension, the NBA media's response to it, and why people acting like there is a conspiracy theory against the Warriors are extremely wrong for many reasons. Enjoy. Watch or hear this entire two hour long episode here: https://www.patreon.com/youknowball During the rest of the episode we talked: the Hawks winning the non Trae Young minutes and get wiped by the Celtics during the Trae minutes. What teams would be interested in Trae if he hit the open market this summer? Trill talks about his fears for playoff James Harden after two uninspiring games (he did bounce back in game three though so progress?) then we talked about the Wizards firing Tommy Sheppard and whether he did a good or not. On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by recapping the Los Angeles Lakers' wild – and ugly – play-in win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. LeBron James and Anthony Davis were good-not-great but backup point guard Dennis Schroder was the difference in this one. That's part of what makes this Lakers team so dangerous; You never know which of the ‘other guys' will pop on a night-to-night basis. Later, Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) joins the show to discuss the reports that the Atlanta Hawks would consider trading superstar point guard Trae Young this offseason. Atlanta may have beaten the Miami Heat in their play-in game but it's fair to say they've underwhelmed the past two seasons. How much of that is on Trae? How much of that is on the Hawks front office? Sticking in the NBA, the guys go at it for a few minutes debating which stars are most deserving of an All-NBA nod. Should Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid both make First Team given that they're both centers? Will the Dallas Mavericks missing the play-in keep Luka Doncic off the three teams altogether? Finally, J-Mac closes the show with his Best Bets for the Wednesday night NBA Play-In games featuring the New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors Click here to subscribe, rate and review all of the latest Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre podcasts! #Volume #HerdSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This week, Trae and Drew fill Corey in on their wild weekend without him in Portland, Oregon. Then, the show naturally transitions into talking about how weird Easter (and all religious celebrations) actually are. Other topics include: Did Shakespeare write the Bible? Does the Grim Reaper get a bad rap? Should Corey be allowed to get jerked off by an 80 year old Chinese lady?
