Client Reviews… ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jenny's teachings have produced results reconnecting me with my estranged daughter I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support and guidance received in the most tragic time of my life from coach Jenny Good. Her faith, compassion, understanding, dedication and display of radical love has truly been life-changing for me. I was so overwhelmed with feelings of confusion, guilt, and sadness. I felt lost and didn't know how to navigate through the emotional turmoil I was experiencing. However, from the very first call, Jenny created a safe and non-judgmental space for me to share my details. Her ability to listen attentively and empathize while helping me understand a different way of thinking is truly remarkable. She understood my feelings and offered tools each session in ways I have not experienced even from therapy. I am forever thankful for the medicine she has poured into me to be the very best version of myself! This has rippled into all areas of life for me. Jenny's teachings have produced results reconnecting me with my estranged daughter! Thank you for being the vessel of unwavering faith & love that so many of us could benefit from, estranged or not. A true Godsend. - Melinda Wyman . ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I am living a truly happy life, and I reconciled with my son Having a coach and mentor who is rooted in Christ is very important. I've experienced so much inner healing with Jenny as my Coach. I am living a truly happy life, and I reconciled with my son! I feel empowered to continue stepping into my full power as a mother and to live a life where my children matter, but they don't determine my worth. I am me again. - Carol Adams
Happy Satiated Saturday! It can be confusing what path to choose for your food recovery when there are many different paths you can walk. When exploring all the various avenues, you can focus on your experience of choice. There is no "right" way to decrease your food coping mechanisms. It gets to be unique to you, your body, and what supports you in feeling the way you want to feel in your life. Your recovery resources are your choice (something that the experience of trauma can feel like it took away from you). When trying out any somatic, nervous system, trauma, parts practices, you can observe how you feel before, during, and after to discover which practices resonate with you. You will receive this bodily feedback by tracking your capacity to flow through dysregulation, big emotions and sensations, and what helps you to return to yourself again and again. Drawing from Hebrews 10, Pastor Ryan Schlachter unpacks the powerful truth of being seated with Christ. Reminding us that while Old Testament priests stood daily offering repeated sacrifices, Jesus made one final sacrifice and is now seated at the right hand of God. Because of this, we no longer strive for God's approval but serve from a place of rest. This shift frees us from guilt and shame, inviting us to live in the fullness of Christ's forgiveness and approach life's struggles from a place of already-won victory.
Depression, anxiety, and emotional trauma are on the rise, even more so after the painful few years we’ve all been through. While the church has had an unfortunate track record of glossing over mental health issues, Paul Daugherty, pastor of the megachurch Victory and today’s guest on the podcast, believes it’s time for the church to break its silence. You can’t just pray trauma away. Depression and anxiety can affect even the most devoted believer. Therefore, in today’s conversation, Paul sits down with hosts, Zach & Josh, to share his own story of walking through anxiety and depression, helping others understand how frightening and debilitating mental health struggles can be, and talking vulnerably about the highs and lows of his healing journey. He also describes some of the biggest mental and emotional health issues he has seen people in his life and his congregation facing, including depression, anxiety, insecurity, mood swings, and the scars of trauma. Daugherty dives into scripture and lays a framework for understanding the spiritual truths behind each mental battle, and offers practical tips and strategies to help readers discover the door out of depression and into mental and emotional victory. The greatest takeaway from today’s conversation is that you may already have possession of the key to the door of hope and healing that you’ve been searching for all along! In this episode, Steve Sims distills 38 years of brutally honest business experience into just five minutes, delivering straight-shooting advice every entrepreneur needs to hear. Drawing from decades of hard-won lessons, Steve shares the three key truths that every business owner should know—and prepare for—if they want to succeed in the real world. Steve kicks things off by tackling the inevitability of screw-ups in business. Whether it's human error, shifting algorithms, or unexpected industry changes, something will go wrong, and Steve stresses the importance of expecting problems and planning for them before they hit. This mindset shift, he says, allows you to respond strategically rather than get caught off guard. Next, Steve flips the script on the classic hustle trope, insisting that entrepreneurs value time over dollars. Reminding us that while money can be replaced, time cannot, he emphasizes the need to evaluate opportunities not just by the payday, but by the time, stress, and effort required to get there. Finally, in a refreshingly cynical yet practical twist, Steve urges listeners to approach every new contract and relationship with skepticism—not starry-eyed optimism. By deliberately looking for potential pitfalls and being willing to walk away if things don't add up, he explains how he's avoided the costly mistakes that once tripped him up, using a memorable story with the Elton John Foundation as an example. Packed with candid insights, tough love, and practical strategies, this episode offers a survival kit for anyone navigating entrepreneurship. Steve's honest advice will help you spot trouble before it starts, value your most precious resource, and make deals with your eyes wide open. If you're ready to disrupt, connect, and grow with lessons from someone who's truly been there, this is the episode you don't want to miss.
Summary of Flexibility = Love•Rigidity: The tendency to adhere strictly to rules, routines, and predictability.•Spontaneity: The inclination to seek excitement and adventure without prior planning.•Flexibility: The ability to adapt and find a balance between rigidity and spontaneity.Importance of Understanding DifferencesMerrill points out that understanding one's own personality traits is crucial for improving marital dynamics. He discusses how rigidity can lead to anxiety due to a fear of losing control, while spontaneity can result in feelings of resentment when life feels too boxed in or constrained.Benefits and Drawbacks of RigidityBenefits:A structured environment can lower anxiety, especially for children, by providing clear expectations.2.Commitment: Predictability helps partners uphold commitments and builds trust.Drawbacks:1.Stifled Intimacy: Overly rigid environments can become boring and inhibit emotional closeness.2.Excessive Control: Rigid approaches can lead to legalistic attitudes that diminish personal freedom and enjoyment.Benefits and Drawbacks of SpontaneityBenefits:1.Excitement and Joy: Spontaneity can inject fun and unpredictability into life, fostering deeper emotional connections.2.Encouragement of Playfulness: It allows couples to engage in activities that uplift their spirits and reinforce bonds.Drawbacks:1.Instability: Sudden changes can create anxiety in partners who prefer predictability.2.Neglect of Responsibilities: Spontaneous decisions can sometimes lead to neglecting commitments and responsibilities, causing strain in the relationship.Balancing Rigidity and SpontaneityThe hosts emphasize that neither rigidity nor spontaneity is inherently right or wrong; rather, successful relationships require a balance of both. This balance is achieved through flexibility, the capacity to adapt to each partner's needs and circumstances.Scriptural References and Principles•Ephesians 5:21: Advocating for mutual submission and respect in relationships.•Philippians 2:3-4: Encouraging humility and valuing the needs of others over one's own.•Ecclesiastes 9:9: Reminding partners to enjoy life together amidst their daily routines.Practical Strategies for Couples1.Know Your Tendencies: Partners should identify whether they lean more towards rigidity or spontaneity.2.Set Shared Values: Agree on core values that will guide decisions and behaviors.3.Establish Common Goals: Identify long-term goals that both partners are working towards.4.Listen Actively: Encourage open communication without defensiveness or sarcasm.5.Seek Unity Over Being Right: Focus on compromise and mutual understanding instead of proving each other wrong.6.Encourage Each Other: Foster positivity by recognizing and affirming each other's efforts and traits.7.Shift Mindsets to ‘We': Cultivate a partnership mentality where both aim for collective success and happiness.Flexibility as a Key ComponentThe discussion culminates in the realization that flexibility is essential for resiliency in a relationship. We can be uncontentious, and gentle, and considerate of others if we'll remember how God has been, and continues to be, with us. Pastors and teachers can help us do that, but they're not the only ones who need to be involved in a ministry of reminding. We all do.
Using his recent bout with Dengue Fever as an illustration, Pastor Dave encourages us to stop looking down at ourselves, especially our ability to be effective witnesses for the Gospel. Reminding us all that it's what inside of us that makes the difference.

In this episode of Retire with Style, Wade Pfau and Alex Murguia sit down with Dr. Daniel Crosby, a leading voice in behavioral finance, to unpack the psychological side of investing in today's volatile markets. Together, they examine how market swings and media noise shape investor behavior—and why having a thoughtful media diet and disciplined decision-making framework is more important than ever. This conversation lays the foundation for next week's episode, where the discussion will shift toward deeper questions of wealth and meaning. Listen now to learn more! Takeaways Market volatility can trigger anxiety—even among professionals. It's normal to feel fear during downturns, but those emotions don't have to drive your decisions. Limiting exposure to financial news may help you stay focused and make better choices. Recognizing the incentives behind financial media can help you consume it more critically. More information isn't always better—clarity often comes from less, not more. Patience matters. Reminding yourself that “this too shall pass” can be grounding. Uncertainty often causes more stress than bad news itself. Taking time to reflect before acting can lead to better financial outcomes. We tend to give others better advice than we give ourselves—pause and consider what you'd tell a friend. Automation and structured plans are powerful tools to reduce emotional decision-making. Brain scientist Jill Bolte Taylor famously once said:“Most of us think of ourselves as thinking creatures that feel, but we are actually feeling creatures that think.”Whether it's anxiety about going to the doctor, Boiling rage when we're stuck in traffic, Devastation after a painful break-up, Joy from the birth of a child, Or peace that arises from being in natureOur emotional landscape is dynamic, complex, and often bittersweet - containing both the painful and the pleasant. And as today's guest, renowned emotion scientist, Dr. Ethan Kross writes:"As difficult as our emotions can sometimes be, they are also a superpower."In his new book: Shift: Managing Your Emotions So They Don't Manage You, Ethan Challenges us to move away from a binary lens that views emotions simplyas being “good” or “bad.”Reminding us instead that emotions are information. And that when activated in the right ways, and at the right time, they function like an immune system, alerting us to our surroundings, telling us how to react to a situation, and helping us make the right choices. The big question then is: How do we make our emotions work for us rather than against us? How do we unlock this superpower?Ethan has devoted his scientific career to answering this question.Working closely with his team at the Emotion and Self Control Lab at the Ross School of Business,He has been leading groundbreaking research on emotion regulation and how the conversations people have with themselves impact their health, performance, decisions and relationshipsIn today's conversation:We will explore a blend of insights, stories, and practices that will shed light on what Ethan has uncovered through this work- the possibility of mastering our emotional lives in ways that allow us to live, lead, and love better. Welcome to Episode 104 of the Your Next Move Podcast! In today's episode, I'm getting real with you. I'm sharing six powerful reminders that I constantly rotate for both myself and my clients especially when we find ourselves stuck, scared, or playing small. This is more of a truth-telling episode where I want to give you the advice that I give my clients. But especially recently, I've had some experiences where I realized I need to remind myself of these things too. In this episode, you'll hear: Why fear actually means "go" and not "stop," and how it's often the biggest thing standing between you and your goals How taking just one hour to plan your week can transform your productivity and mindset Why saying "no" when it's not a "hell yes" is crucial for your satisfaction and success The importance of using your voice even when it shakes Why rest isn't a reward for overworking but a power move and essential part of your plan The liberating truth that you don't have to prove your worth—you already belong I also share a recent experience where I faced serious imposter syndrome before a speaking engagement, and how I used these same reminders to pull myself back from spiraling. You'll get practical advice on: Recognizing when fear is causing you to choose "Plan B" when you really want "Plan A" Setting yourself up for success by planning in a way that works for your brain How to determine if an opportunity is truly a "hell yes" (and a simple test I use for client work) Practical ways to advocate for yourself even when it makes you nervous Building rest into your schedule as a non-negotiable part of your success strategy Reminding yourself that you are enough exactly as you are At the end of the episode, I share an unofficial seventh reminder that emerged naturally: The more you lean into being your authentic self, the better. Timeline [0:00] Introduction: A different kind of episode - six reminders I keep in rotation [1:15] Reminder #1: Show up when you're scared - fear means GO [3:30] Story about choosing Plan B instead of Plan A because of fear [5:25] Reminder #2: Take time to plan for your success [7:45] Reminder #3: Say no when it's not a hell yes [9:20] My test for deciding which one-on-one clients to take [11:10] Reminder #4: Use your voice even when it shakes [12:55] Reminder #5: Rest is a power move, not a reward [15:30] How I've improved my relationship with rest over the years [17:20] Reminder #6: You don't have to prove your worth [18:45] My backstage experience with imposter syndrome [21:30] The unofficial 7th reminder: The more you lean into being you, the better [23:10] Closing thoughts and encouragement to share Stay In Touch Let's connect on social media: Follow Your Next Move Podcast on Instagram/TikTok: @YourNextMovePodcast Follow me on Instagram/TikTok: @KimberlyBOnline Learn more about Brown Leadership: https://brownleadership.com Ask me a question that I'll answer on the podcast: Share your question in a 90 second voice message and I may answer your question on a future episode of the podcast. Chances are, you’ve supported someone going through a tough time. And while the meaning sustains the sacrifice, today we want to support you ….. supporting them. A bit of support inception, if you will. To guide us through this incredibly complex and meaningful topic is our resident psychologist, Dr Emily Musgrove. Navigating relationships requires awareness. Showing up as a partner, friend, parent, or sibling while holding space for pain – without being overwhelmed – is a skill that takes practice. Reminding us that no one hates their struggle more than the person suffering, Dr Em delves into some practical strategies of support, such as walking the line between respect and care, as well as always understanding the difference between effort and capacity. To all of the supporters and carers listening, we see you. We love you. And we hope you felt held, too. So when you go to the storehouse in Dublin now, you'll see that the first 10 years of his brewing career in Dublin was brewing an ale, and that was the ale that his father taught him in Cashel. I don't often do a solo podcast but God has been working on my heart when it comes to parenting teens and expectations and I felt prompted to sit down and share what I am learning with you all. So often as parents, we live in a worst-case scenario mindset, when it feels like the dreams and expectations for a child's future are not aligning with the present. We obsess over baby monitors, teen friendships, and grades/sports but this comes from a place of worry, or even fear-based control. God wants freedom and hope in our parenting! I realized I have a choice: to believe in an imagined bad scenario or to flip a switch and choose hope and expect in God for unimaginable good things to come. Both choices involve belief, imagination and control. I'm choosing to double down turn my belief toward hope, knowing that even when things don't go as planned, God's story is far greater. In this episode, I will share the steps God gave me to practically practice choosing hope over worry. How to walk with the Spirit and produce fruit instead of formula-based parenting rooted in power and control. Reminding my own heart that God is good and has a good story for our kids- let's lean into the HUGE expectation that God is the God of HOPE and let our prayers align with that truth.
