You have way more minutes in your day to day life available to you that you thing. They are just easily given to distractions or just not thinking about it and thus not thinking about how much such minutes we all have every year. Train a habit of start writing or adding to a project of your chose when you find yourself waiting for a meeting to start, or things are delayed and you have to wait. Instead of just "see what's new", give yourself the gift of having written a few sentence, made a notes on the next design etc or whatever you are creating. Once you have a bigger block of time you have something to start from helping momentum alot. Reminding us of that we will eventually runt short of minutes often helps see who and what accomplishments you will remember when you are 150 years old. And yes, I believe you are living in the age where those you take care of themselves will live longer than those who don't. just mere hundred years ago the average lifespan was 32 or something similar. Thinking of your future self will make you step up for what matters, and let go what doesn't. But also in the short run. Thinking about a deadline this week, and in case you need to reprioritize a day or two before that. Where would you rather leave them if so? Often reminding ourself of that we might run short of time preparing or doing what we should helps us see our accomplishments in a new light. often it also helps us see the one we are helping in another light as well. Mind your minutes, its the most finite resource you have to give, and you will never get any wasted back (but perhaps a lesson learned but thats for another cast?)

Marni welcomes Adele Spraggon in the Life Check Yourself studio, where they get into the nitty gritty of how to train your brain and break down patterns that have been influencing your relationships. Adele is an award-winning author, an international trainer and the recipient of the 2022 Women of Inspiration accolade. In this episode, Marni and Adele discuss the reasons why we react to our partners the way we do, how to recognize certain patterns in ourselves, and how to break the cycle of emotional distress that sometimes manifests in relationships. It's a journey of self-empowerment wrapped in a 4-step process that starts by looking inwards, without judgment. Winner of the 2021 Top Behavioral expert title, Adele's book, “Shift: 4 Steps to Personal Empowerment” has won several awards.  It's all about repatterning.  How to change your reaction to your partner How to make your relationship brand-new Why do we fall into the same relationships over and over again?  Breaking the Serial-Dating Pattern Why do you keep having the same fights? You're Interacting with a Pattern, Not a Partner [05:38] Adele explains that when meeting or interacting with a person, we're actually interpreting them through our own set of past experiences. We're not reacting to them, but to a pattern we've formed for them.  Let's think about the brain. It's inside a dark silent room called a skull. It has no access to the outside world, so I can't really know you. We're interacting to our own brain, rather than to the person standing in front of us. Adele goes on to emphasize that the brain is in a continuous process of rewiring itself. And to break certain cycle, repatterning – which is unearthing, understanding, and changing the internal patterns that are obstructing the relationship – is key. Reminding ourselves that we're actually interacting with our own pattern, is an introspective process that allows us to find out why we've reacted to our partner's behavior in a certain way. This eventually leads to the understanding that our reaction has more to do with us, than with them.  A pattern is an intertwined physical sensation, emotion and thought.  It is the patterns within us that we need to identify, deconstruct and reconstructed, in order to understand the why. And that's part of the 4-step process that the award-winning author uses when working with couples.  Your Mind is just Along for the Ride [ 12:14] Triggers stem from the physical and emotional state, rather than from the mind. What a person's mind essentially does, is take whatever sensory data it's given, and weave a story out of it.  If we could slow everything down, you would see the mind just following along.   The mind is there to justify the emotions. But in order to recognize these patterns and start deconstructing them, we need to slow down, and ask ourselves the right questions. The first step in Adele's process for training the brain, is being unapologetically honest with ourselves about our feelings. In a world that's constantly putting pressure on us to alter ourselves, the expert explains that this process is not about changing or fixing a particular emotion but rather about embracing and understanding it.  A Little Less Conversation, a Little More Introspection [18:57] We're not saying communication isn't important, but rather how you're communicating. Constantly trying to fix your partner or tell them what to do - something we're all guilty of at one point or other - doesn't work. Whereas, understanding the pattern that makes you react to them in a certain way, does. Your reaction to your partner's behavior is a reflection of one of your patterns. Explaining those feelings to your partner, once you've explored them yourself, is the road to healing.  It's when someone needs to justify or defend how they're feeling, or fix how they're feeling, it causes the other brain, your partner's brain, to also want to defend, justify and fix. The four traps Adele says need to be avoided, and the same ones that keep those triggering behaviors cemented in the relationship, are justifying, analyzing, catastrophizing and rebelling. Our brains have been, throughout our lives, conditioned to analyze, and justify. So, don't justify. Unless you've taken a moment to stand still, and accept how you feel, and what pattern that belongs to, the relationship becomes a vicious cycle that is constantly repeating itself, with no end in sight.  What's happening to your partner's brain is every time you go down one of those traps, you're pushing them into one of their traps.

Thanksgiving does have some conflicts attached to it... the history.. the Native Americans ... and it is through my work with our indigenous Native American people that I like to offer this prayer to remind us all of how important it is to find gratitude for all life .. the sacred elements and out Mother Earth.  This prayer and blessing has been handed down and has ancient roots that go back over 1000 years by a man called the Peacemaker and the great Law of peace. This prayer is based on the belief that the world, our Mother Earth, cannot be taken for granted. The elements, fire, air, earth, and water are sacred and helps to create our spiritual connection to all that is.  My hope as I continue to send Reiki out to you is that you are surrounded with joy and gratitude for the food on your table, for the water in your glass, for the earth that has survived, for the friends and the family that bring inspiration and joy and cheer. May you find gratitude in all the many blessings that you have. May you take this prayer out into the world, as you sit down to your table, as you eat with friends and family, or perhaps even if it is by yourself, that is okay, too. Appreciate your life, all the sacred elements, and Mother Earth. Know that we are in a time of renewal and evolution. Let us all join together As one from my heart to yours. In our age of biomedicine, society often treats sickness and disability as problems in need of solution. Phenomena of embodied difference, however, have not always been seen in terms of lack and loss. Where Paralytics Walk and the Blind See: Stories of Sickness and Disability at the Juncture of Worlds (Princeton UP, 2022) explores the case of early modern Catholic Canada under French rule and shows it to be a period rich with alternative understandings of infirmity, disease, and death. Counternarratives to our contemporary assumptions, these early modern stories invite us to creatively imagine ways of living meaningfully with embodied difference today. At the heart of Dunn's account are a range of historical sources: Jesuit stories of illness in New France, an account of Canada's first hospital, the hagiographic vita of Catherine de Saint-Augustin, and tales of miraculous healings wrought by a dead Franciscan friar. In an early modern world that subscribed to a Christian view of salvation, both sickness and disability held significance for more than the body, opening opportunities for virtue, charity, and even redemption. Dunn demonstrates that when these reflections collide with modern thinking, the effect is a certain kind of freedom to reimagine what sickness and disability might mean to us. Reminding us that the meanings we make of embodied difference are historically conditioned, Where Paralytics Walk and the Blind See makes a forceful case for the role of history in broadening our imagination. Joy In The Journey

Becoming a caregiver is typically not a journey you ease into: much like the poem "Welcome To Holland" reminds us, it's often like suddenly landing in rainy Holland when you set off to vacation in sunny Italy. "But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland." And since November was recently proclaimed National Family Caregivers Month, I thought it was only fitting to invite Kim Kane to be my guest on today's episode. Kim is a mom to five children and walks beside her daughter Erin on her medical journey; she also cares for her mother with Alzheimer's. Kim brings a beautiful perspective of what it means to be a caregiver, how it affects your life with some great insights. Erin, who is now 15 years old, experienced a Hypoxic Ischemic Event which occurs when the brain experiences a decrease in oxygen or blood flow in the first week of her life. As Kim navigates life caring for a child with cerebral palsy and visual impairments, she's truly learned to not sweat the small things and make the best of what is. She reminds us that "every journey is easier with the right guides" and that by putting your faith in doctors and God, your journey can become a slightly lighter one. She also shares great advice on making hard and painful decisions when selecting surgeries or medical interventions for your children. And she reminds us to empower ourselves as caregivers; by remembering to fill our cups so that we have more to give out to others. The life of a caregiver can feel lonely, especially when you feel like you've "landed" there abruptly with no map or guidance. By reaching out to the right community and taking one step at a time, you'll be less likely to miss the joys that can be found along the way. Key Takeaways with Kim Kane Recognizing the love and sacrifice of caregivers providing crucial care to loved ones. How being a caregiver affects life as an individual, partner, and parent. Putting your faith in therapists and God during life's hardest challenges. Advice on making hard decisions regarding your child's medical interventions. Reminding ourselves to appreciate every day as a gift. How to “fill your cup” as a caregiver in order to have more to give to others. Remembering to celebrate the small wins The power and importance of reaching out to others and finding a community. Show Notes: Get Full Access to the Show Notes by visiting: MatteasJoy.org/42. In this homily given at St Pat's on November 13, 2022, Fr. Miguel preaches on how to persevere in light of the tragic passing of Proposal 3, an amendment that enshrines abortion in Michigan's State Constitution. Reminding us of our hope in Christ, Fr. Miguel encourages us to pour out our hearts to Jesus and to receive His love. This is key to persevering so as to secure our lives as Jesus exhorts us to do in the Gospel. Fr. Miguel outlines 3 steps to help in pouring out our hearts to God:1. Be aware of any thoughts, feelings, and desires you have2. Relate it to Jesus in prayer and engage in conversation with Him3. Receive what God says in responseTowards the end of his homily, Fr. Miguel reminds parishioners that if a Christian had knowledge that this proposed amendment would enshrine abortion in the State Constitution, and chose to vote for it anyway, this would constitute formal cooperation with the evil of abortion. Father encourages all such people who voted "yes" to repent before they receive communion.Since Jesus is victorious, we who remain faithful to Him in the end will join in His victory when he comes again. The light of Christ, which shines in us through baptism, will continue to shine brightly to all the world, no matter how popular it is to disagree with the light.

Reminding ourselves how the stock market tends to work, how it is a leading indicator, can be a helpful emotional refresher course. The stock market, if you remember is what they call a leading indicator. Basically, what that means is that it acts in advance of what people think is going to happen. (02:27)Think the 2008 mortgage crisis or 2020 COVID. There was very little clarity at the time on what was going to happen next. And that uncertainty is what drove the volatility. (03:12)So what you can do is really the hardest thing sometimes and that's just not touching it. You are probably reacting off of past information. (05:09)Quote for the episode: "So if we accept that things are going to move ahead of time, that leading indicator before we will have a chance to generally react, then we can potentially avoid some of the big mistakes that too many investors make by pulling out when things are already low, and generally not adding money back in until things have significantly rebounded, leaving them with much less than they ought to have had, if they just not touched it throughout the ride." Moon Knight plans to deal with them but asks Tigra step back, certain she will not like what comes next, and chains Nemean to drag him along the road, baiting a pursuant Grand Mal, riding into the Midnight Mission headquarters. As they bested him before and don't fear him like the other criminals he's fought, Moon Knight leads them into the House of Shadows where he will teach them why they should fear him. Commencing the fight, Moon Knight admits that he knew nothing about them and just treated them like any other super villains, but realized they were hired killers so he did his research and now has the advantage: he knows how to take them apart. Grand Mal pontificates her upbringing in Carnelia made her strong, berating the American Moon Knight for not understanding, and Moon Knight has the House of Shadows send Grand Mal into a personalized Hell. Nemean's caterwauling for Moon Knight to face him has the hero, and while they could overpower Moon Knight outside in a fight, they were instead having a burial inside the House of Shadows. As hellish corpses piled upon Grand Mal and Nemean buried under rubble with scarabs eating his innards, Moon Knight elaborates the Midnight Mission is a safe place to the protected and a punishment for his enemies. Welcoming the supplicants to his seated station, Nemean swearing to surrender their pay in exchange for never returning, but Moon Knight has no say in the matter. Reminding them that he did his research while they did not, as they killed Hunter's Moon they wrongly deemed him a "sidekick" when he is a brother. And the a Fists of Khonshu never die, revealing Hunter's Moon alive once more behind him, his brother's turn to enact justice upon the criminal pair. The next night, The Tutor welcomes various vampire delegations, especially the Chernobyl delegation, who bring Dracula's regards and regrets. The Tutor continues his speech about The Structure's claiming New York City as their territory as (one of) the First 21st Century Postmodern vampiric organizations. With planted cells across the United States and in Canada, and elaborates his conclave is a two-fold plan: showcase their success within the practice from personnel to locations and to illustrate how other vampire groups can incorporate the hierarchical model. However, they are interrupted when Nemean and Grand Mal crash through the skylight as Mr. Knight announces they are a present from the Midnight Mission, a customary gift when arriving at a party. With style, Mr. Knight and Tigra arrive on the scene in their best evening attire, with Mr. Knight stating that they start partying MOON RATING : Rey:

We had the pleasure of interviewing JULS over Zoom video! Juls is a pop singer/songwriter from Connecticut, who is creating a world radiating with starry eyes, ocean blues and true love. Her love for music began at just eight years old, when her dad built a stage in the basement for Juls and her sister. Instantly recognizing that performing and singing was her calling, Juls shares, “My sister Jacqs was my presenter, and I was the star of the show, prancing onto the stage in my sparkly bodysuits and 6-inch heels (Jacqs was my stylist and makeup artist too, of course). Quite a bit has changed since then, but one thing has remained the same: our shared love for music. Well, two things actually...Jacqs still does my performance makeup lol.” With a burning desire to pursue her musical career, and with her sister at her side as her manager, best friend and “sisager”, Juls has quickly become a force to be reckoned with. She reveals, “We once believed that the dream worlds we were creating for fun would only ever exist within the confines of our basement. However, we are now turning these dreams into our reality, and we could not be more excited to share them with you all on a bigger platform.” Taking inspiration from the likes of Taylor Swift and Lana del Rey, Juls is back with her latest release “Heartbreaker,” blessing listeners with her ethereal euphoria and her truly deepening soundscapes. Reflecting the dazzling movements of the ocean, her music metaphorically encapsulates the highs and lows of adolescence. She explains, “I wrote the hook of this new song in my bedroom in Los Angeles last summer. I distinctly remember looking out my window and thinking about how heartbreak has a butterfly effect of sorts; people never break more hearts than when they are heartbroken because they often turn to others to ease their own pain. This person may simply be looking in another's eyes to erase the haunting memory of the ones they are trying to forget.. in the process, the people with fresh eyes may become heartbroken and taint themselves in a cyclical and sorta achingly ironic way. So I decided to write a song about this cycle of heartbreak and heartbreaking, building off of this play on words to create the hook.” With a throbbing baseline, Jul's vocals roar atop stunning instrumentalism, reverberating with her synth-inspired euphoria. Reminding people of the magic in the small moments, she continues, “Music is amazing because it creates internal distance from the outside world and offers listeners a reprieve to clear their head and sink into a different moment or feeling. I hope that my music makes someone, somewhere feel heard or understood.” Garnering over half a million streams for her music to date, Juls has received critical acclaim from the likes of Wonderland Magazine, Variance, and several Spotify editorial playlists, as she rapidly becomes an artist to watch for this year and beyond. We want to hear from you! The first three “obligolnian strivings” referred to in the Gurdjieff Work are the strivings for what is needed for the planetary body, for perfection of the being (which has two qualities, presence and attention), and for understanding of world creation and maintenance. It is said that we are rigidly governed by 48 laws on Earth, so that almost everything we do is mechanical and automatic. The nature of the General Law is that all beings feed on those levels below them and are fed upon by those above them in scale. There is a great need for organic life to produce mechanical energy. Humans react with negative emotions, which are vacuumed up, consumed, and transmuted by Great Nature to achieve mechanical equilibrium. So what can I do to avoid mechanical death and die more consciously? We are buffered from seeing the reality of our position on Earth when we have the view that thinking about death is morbid, frightening, depressing, pointless. The difference between mechanical and conscious death lies exclusively on the quality and stability of attention. We can radiate a more conscious and finer energy which feeds the being and helps evolution, which goes up the ray of creation back to its source. We work to serve beings higher than us and in so doing can develop a conscious soul. To escape the General Law, we have to remember to bring attention to the present moment by remembering and observing ourselves, which can make us subject to fewer laws. When we remember ourselves we begin at zero. The “me” we believe ourselves to be is composed of identification and imagination. We have a limited range of postures, which promote mechanical unconscious thoughts and emotions. Erect posture is awakening. Breath is always and only present. Reminding factors are discussed. Red Hawk is an acclaimed poet and the author of twelve books, including Self Observation, Self Remembering, The Way of the Wise Woman, and Return to the Mother.

In today's episode of Aligned, our host Sean continues his conversation with the Sales Evangelist, Donald Kelly, to discuss the centricity model and how limiting bad customer behaviors can help generate more sales for your organization.  The second-best practice in the countering world is the practice of looking back Buyers will continually look back at their own bad behaviors. When a buyer's response to a seller's inquiry is to ask for more information, they're not seriously considering the solution. Flip the looking back ideology to looking forward - equip your sales and marketing teams with a playbook that focuses on the future state. Don't spend time explaining specs on pricing, features, or benefits. Instead, sell the buyer on the future state they'll experience with your proposed solution.  One of the most common mistakes for salespeople during the close is forgetting to remind the buyer of their initial state. Reminding people where they're coming from is powerful.  Fear of change often comes down to the process.  Irrational self-statements Irrational self-statements are rigid reasons why the customer can't move forward. Create a playbook outlining all the common irrational self-statements that your customers have and how you can counter them. Counter their bad behavior with integrity, courage, and kindness. A dose of rationality makes a strong statement.  Customer success Your customers are constantly looking and information is everywhere.  Even though you know you can name a hundred ways that you are better than the competitor, your customer can't.  How are you marketing to your customers who are rethinking? Not just new customers but customers who are 2 or 3 years in.  Create a report card of the success that you are bringing your customers. Don't wait till the end of the contract to communicate with them.  Offer a channel of your marketing budget to market to your own customers.  There is more money to be made by fixing the end of the sales cycle than there is by creating more awareness, improving your brand, and getting more leads. Sell backwards, start at the end.  Tune in to our past episode with Donald discussing reward behaviors on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, and connect with Donald on LinkedIn or at thesalesevaneglist.com for more information and content.
