We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other."Synopsis: This text is one of several in the Bible that use the body as a metaphor for the church. Similar to individual parts of the body, God gives each of us abilities to do certain things well. In isolation those abilities can do some good, but the impact is multiplied when in unity with the abilities of others. "But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus."Synopsis: The phrase "but God" communicates the incredible news of the gospel. We were dead in our sins, "but God" loved us and granted us salvation through Jesus. That isn't the end of the story though.The phrase "so God" communicates continued purpose after salvation.
