Matt Wietfeldt, Assistant Vice President of Admissions and Director of the Christ Academy Program at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study Psalm 67. To learn more about Christ Academy, visit ctsfw.edu/ctsfw-events/christ-academy. Join Sharper Iron this summer to study selected Psalms. In this episode of Quality Matters, Julie Seibert, Assistant Vice President of Behavioral Health at NCQA, joins host Andy Reynolds to explore the rise of—and the relationship between—two trends in behavioral health: measurement-informed care and peer support. Julie breaks down how these strategies improve outcomes, engage patients and close gaps in access and accountability.Listen to this episode to discover: How Measurement-Informed Care Engages Patients: Learn how measurement-informed care supports patient engagement and treatment adjustments in behavioral health. We explore the importance of ongoing assessment, tracking symptoms and outcomes and empowering patients to understand their journey. Friction and Fuel for New Approaches: We unpack historical challenges to measurement-informed care. These include the omission of behavioral health from key legislation and the costs of EHR integration. We also discuss how NCQA depression measures and person-centered outcome measures relate to measurement-informed care.Benefitting From Peers' Lived Experience: We discuss how people who have been through mental health or substance use treatment can provide non-clinical support to help others navigate the system, subvert stigma and fill care gaps. This discussion is a valuable resource for providers, policy leaders and others who care about improving access, engagement and outcomes in behavioral health.Key Quote:"Measurement-based care has been around for a long time and only 20% of behavioral health providers adopted it.Traditionally, these are trained clinicians. And in the course of a session with a patient, probably in the back of their mind, they're evaluating whether an individual is improving or has worsening function.Payers would like some numerical or standardized way of seeing the clinician's clinical judgment. When Ben-Hadad of Syria makes more and more demands of Ahab, Ahab takes the advice of his people and refuses to acquiesce anymore. As the battle is about to begin, the LORD sends a prophet to Ahab in order to grant even this unfaithful king a victory over Syria. When the Syrians interpret this loss according to their false religion, the LORD brings honor to His name by giving Israel yet another victory. Ahab, however, receives the grace of God in vain and makes a treaty with Ben-Hadad. In response, the LORD sends a prophet to Ahab to tell him that his life is forfeit for his disobedience. Rev. Matt Wietfeldt, Assistant Vice President of Admissions and Director of the Christ Academy Program at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study 1 Kings 20:1-43. "A Kingdom Divided” is a series on Sharper Iron that goes through 1-2 Kings. The division in the kingdom of Israel in this part of history was greater than a matter of north and south. The biggest division was between the people and their God. Yet even as the people rebelled against the LORD as their King, still He remained faithful to call them back to Himself through His prophets, working through history to send the good and gracious King, Jesus Christ. Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Send us a textIn episode 239 of The Data Diva Talks Privacy Podcast, host Debbie Reynolds, “The Data Diva,” welcomes Saumya Gupta, Assistant Vice President for APAC and Japan at Platform 3 Solutions. Saumya brings a unique blend of deep technical expertise and strategic thinking to the conversation about data privacy in the modern enterprise. She and Debbie discuss how legacy systems represent one of the largest and most overlooked privacy risks—storing sensitive data long past its useful life and outside of governance controls. Saumya explains how data lake and lakehouse architectures can help businesses centralize, tag, and govern large volumes of structured and unstructured data more efficiently. She presents her open metadata model, a five-layer system that empowers organizations to classify data by technical properties, business relevance, operational quality, sensitivity, and compliance requirements. The conversation explores the collision between AI's data hunger and privacy's minimization mandate, and Saumya warns that enterprises cannot afford to ignore data lifecycle hygiene. They also discuss defensible deletion, audit readiness, and the importance of building data infrastructure with privacy as a foundational element. Saumya's insights help organizations reframe legacy data not just as a cost center or liability, but as an opportunity to reset and future-proof their compliance strategies.Support the show

UnitedHealth Group (UHG) stock is plummeting following the abrupt resignation of its CEO Andrew Witty. In today's healthcare environment, America's hospitals are experiencing increases in payer denials as a result of incorrect application of drug HCPCS units and a drug HCPCS modifier (JW/JZ).These denials have increased costs for providers, because the existing staff is either being redirected to spend more time on the issue or additional staff are being hired to resolve the drug charge denials. Healthcare industry professionals need an easy-to-use and cost-effective resource to submit their claims correctly the first time.During the next live edition of Talk Ten Tuesdays, senior healthcare consultant Tiffani Bouchard will review the current environment in which coders work while explaining how new technology tools and solutions have the potential Drew Updike to expedite the drug lookup process. Also part of the live broadcast will be these instantly recognizable panelists, who will report more news during their segments:• Social Determinants of Health: Tiffany Ferguson, CEO for Phoenix Medical Management, Inc., will report on the news that is happening at the intersection of medical record auditing and the SDoH.• CDI Report: Cheryl Ericson, Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) for the vaunted Brundage Group, will have the latest CDI updates.• The Coding Report: Christine Geiger, Assistant Vice President of Acute and Post-Acute Coding Services for First Class Solutions, will report on the latest coding news.• News Desk: Timothy Powell, ICD10monitor national correspondent, will anchor the Talk Ten Tuesdays News Desk.• MyTalk: Angela Comfort, veteran healthcare subject-matter expert, will co-host the long-running and popular weekly Internet broadcast. At last all of Israel recognizes David as their king whom God has appointed to be their shepherd. Once more, David is anointed as king, and we learn that his combined reign in Hebron and Jerusalem was a complete forty years. Although the Jebusites mock David's ability to take their city, the LORD grants David success and gives to him Jerusalem. There, Hiram the king of Tyre builds David a palace for David's growing family and court. The LORD further gives David success on the battlefield against the Philistines. David continues to inquire of the LORD for military strategy, and the LORD continues to fight for David and defeat His enemies. Throughout this chapter, both David's successes and sins point toward Jesus as the true Good Shepherd and King for all people. Rev. Matt Wietfeldt, Assistant Vice President of Admissions and Director of the Christ Academy Program at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study 2 Samuel 5:1-25. "A Kingdom Unlike All the Nations” is a series on Sharper Iron that goes through 1-2 Samuel. This time in Israel's history has its highs and lows, but the LORD's faithfulness never wavers. He provides His Word to be proclaimed faithfully through prophets like Samuel and Nathan. Even as princes like Saul and David sit on an earthly throne, the LORD remains King over His people, even as He does now and forever through the Lord Jesus Christ. Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Submit comments or questions to: listener@kfuo.org
