Property investment can be a good way to get more income. However, it might get complicated once you strategize to improve your investor’s portfolio. While there are a couple of strategies that significantly helped others, these may not have the same effect for everyone else. These strategies might also be detrimental to your business. In today’s episode, She Renovates guest Jo Vadillo of the Property Women and Advocate Property Services will share her tips on how to get a presentable portfolio. We will also talk about how to prevent a woman investor's property from being taken advantage of and sabotaged. Check out the podcast highlights below, and make sure to listen to the whole podcast for a more detailed discussion! About Our Guest Jo Vadillo is one of the founders of Advocate Property Services, providing professional Buyers’ Agent services in Syndey for developers, homeowners, and investors. She also established Property Women, which helps women achieve financial independence through different property strategies. How Women’s Attempts to Build Wealth Through Property Can Be Sabotaged Common Mistakes in Property Investing Some investors would look to other people's successes, and they try to replicate them, thinking that this strategy might also work for them. Another mistake is that some investors would invest in a property that doesn’t suit their profile, budget, abilities, among others. Jo says not to put too much pressure on yourself and make sure the strategy you’re using matches your phase of life and the situation of today’s market. Matching Your Needs to Your Portfolio When building your portfolio, make sure that you create different strategies that would take your circumstances into account. Diversify your portfolio, and don’t use the same strategy over again. It is also essential that you educate yourself with the nature of investments and how can you make your cash flow. Sabotaging Ideas Some women would ask for other's opinions who have zero knowledge about property investment because they still lack confidence in themselves despite research. Jo's philosophy: "If I weren't willing to put my money into a deal, I wouldn't be promoting to anybody else in a heartbeat." Be confident. If you are still hesitant with your plan, ask people who have done it before or who have a decent portfolio. Children Bled Dry By Parents Jo says to put your child into a habit of saving or putting away a percentage of their income. It is essential to teach children at a very young age to be money-savvy and not to spend money on unnecessary things. You may contact Jo through her email at jo@propertywomen.com.au.
