Some said it couldn't be done. Some said it SHOULDN'T be done. But here we are - the podcast has reached 300 episodes! So the proud parents are taking out the photo album to show off some of their big strong pod-child's embarrassing snaps from its youth. In the time-honoured style of one of those TV retrospective shows, Barry and Ben each share 3 of their favourite facts from the show, 5 of their favourite moments and their favourite episode. Enjoy some classic Worst Foot Forward clips such as Lisztomania, Morrissey's appalling sex scenes, live audience sound FX, George Sitwell's wasp gun and the lifespan of astatine. The show features the following guests, in order of appearance: Bethany Black, Moxie Labouche, Georgie Morrell (now Georgie Wyatt), Joshua Tonks, Seb Falk, Helen Arnie, Professor Elemental, Tristan Bernays, Tulip Siddiq MP, Alexander Bennett, Paul Duncan McGarrity, Dr Kit Chapman, Robyn Perkins, Joel Morris, Bec Hill, Jay Foreman, Ria Lina, Johnny Chiodini, Ellie Gibson, Will Seaward and Dr Keir Shiels. Today I had a chat with award winning comedian & scientist Robyn Perkins who uses science to explain her shortcomings. We chatted about Robyn's story so far, how she uses science in comedy & her experience of climbing Kilimanjaro.Robyn Perkins effortlessly combines scientific research with personal stories from her ridiculous life (yes, she really did lose half of her pants on her first night on Kilimanjaro). And when life doesn't go to plan, Robyn uses her scientific background to explain why, whether it be a question of love and morality, decision-making or, now, competition and confidence, “blending science, comedy and a little hint of philosophy into an excellent show” (Scots Reviewer).Honing her comic skills on the British, US and now Australian comedy scene, the “exceptionally charismatic” (Voice Magazine) Robyn has tackled some of life's biggest and most emotionally charged topics on stage, and brought them right back to the audience with personal, relatable and hilarious real-life anecdotes. This has brought her international success, winning Sydney Fringe's Comedy Award in 2019 and was a weekly winner of the comedy award at Perth FRINGE WORLD in 2020. Robyn Perkins is a jack of all trades at her previous lives from a landscape designer to a marine biologist to a comedian. We tried to predict what is going to happen in this unfortunate and crazy time. Robyn has a lot of jokes about science, how her previous life as a scientist influence her writing style while I ranted against “nerd” jokes in the mainstream TV show. She shared a drinking game, her trip to Komodo island and the usage of bidet. I think I may have disgust her with fun facts how flies and maggots is good for the medical world. We say opposites attract, but can you really combine science with comedy? In today's episode, Robyn Perkins joins us to chat about the real meaning of science. Find Robyn on twitter and instagram @robynHperkins or at www.robynperkins.com. Particle Podcast is about science and the people who just love it. Robyn Perkins is a stand up comedian. We talk about her growing up in America, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the sitcom Life in Pieces
Every week comedian Yael Gavish talks with a comedian that has at some point been asked “Where Are You REALLY From?” Whether it's due to an accent, skin color, the outfit they are wearing or various other factors. Each conversation explores personal stories about travels, family life, cultural experiences and funny stories that have happened along the way. This week I've met Robyn Perkins who was born in New Hampshire but live now in London. We talked about #Boston, about comedy in the world and why is London so much better than New England.
Robyn Perkins is an American comic based in London who does one-woman stand up shows about relationships and dating which use neuroscience to explain the things we do in the world of romance. Robyn also went to Harvard University (like the actual Harvard, in America and everything), studying landscape architecture, and worked in the field for years before becoming a comedian. She rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in that world, none of whom I am even slightly aware of, and worked on some huge projects including the Olympic Village for the Rio di Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016. I've always wondered what it'd be like to go to the most prestigious university in the world, so we had a chat about it. Also at the end of this episode I put in a bonus recording of a roast battle with my friend Milo Edwards from a few days ago. Settle in, this is a long one. Song: Pink Floyd - We Don't Need No Education
Rosie is joined by comedians Robyn Perkins and Lynn Ruth Miller to discuss the third date rule, the evolutionary drives underpinning our relationship behaviours, lesbian divorce rates, participating in scientific sex research and online dating for the over-80s. Recorded at Kings Place on May 10 2019. The next London live recordings are at Kings Place in the Autumn (however you can also catch us at festivals in July). Ewan fact-checks a legend about Ronnie Corbett with Jim Tavaré, the Fringe Review team brave 'Meet the Media' to learn about the difference between comedy and tragedy, and Robyn Perkins is pitched a show about her 30,000th meal.
