We live in a divisive world. Everyone has an opinion and we share them passionately. But, what happens when we disagree with others? Do we win arguments, but lose relationships? Do we win the battle but lose the proverbial war? In this message, guest speaker Chad Thibodeaux shares about what he's learned about being an ambassador for Christ, based on the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:14-21.

As we continue to explore our purpose, we need to talk about our calling. Did you know that you are called by God? We don’t need to wait around for a voice from the sky or a special sign. God has already called each of us to an incredibly important mission in Christ. Join us on Sunday as we unpack what this calling is, and how we can respond to it today!
People often ask, “what is the Gospel?” In today’s passage we are presented with a glorious summary of of what we mean when we speak of the Gospel. In these verses we learn that Sola Gratia isn’t merely an observation about our particular understanding of the Gospel, but instead is fundamentally central to the Bible’s own declarations about it. In other words, there is no true Gospel where there is not Sola Gratia. God saves… by grace alone!
This week, as we celebrate the resurrection of our savior, we begin a new sermon series called VIBRANT FAITH. We will be looking at how our faith stands out to other people and what makes it come alive.

This is Back To The Old Paths, for the weekend of Sunday, May 7, 2017. We're going back to 1989 for a song from Brother Harold Townsend and more recently for our message from 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, preached during a Nursing Home Service.
Have you ever thought about how you would like your life to end? What would it look like? In this Easter sermon, we will learn from 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 why the resurrection is the perfect ending for your life because of Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection from the dead. (Apologies for technical difficulties--Audio cuts out for several minutes just after the sermon starts, it resumes for the rest of the sermon.)
"We don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other." 2 Corinthians 5:16-18, The Message
It is a great reminder for the start of the New Year that the love of Christ is our greatest motivation.
What do you think of when you think Evangelism? Do you think street preacher, extrovert, charisma and smooth talk? Well the bible has a different idea. It seems to suggest that evangelism is born out of the heart of a person who has experienced the worth of Christ, and feels compelled to lead others into that - And that looks different to the picture a lot of people have in their minds. This message is an attempt to repaint evangelism, for the glory of God and the joy of others.

This is Back To The Old Paths, for the weekend of Sunday, July 5, 2015.
Am I the only one who struggles with the guilt of not measuring up to my religious up bring? Does anyone else have trouble forgiving themselves? Why can’t I forgive those people for what they did to me? How do I overcome my fears, my addictions, temptations that seem like demons that haunt my soul? You are not alone, we all have these struggles, and Bible characters faced what you and I face. “It’s A New Day” and time for a fresh start with God in your life.

What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, “Eternal Life?” Living forever, right? Then why do we have to physically die first? When Jesus died, He died for ALL. Pastor Jerry speaks about how maybe there is a different way to look at the idea of eternal life.
We looked at 2 Corinthians chapter 5, where Paul shows the change that happens--because of God's love in dying for us!--that we no longer live for ourselves, but we are now a new creation. Now that we have been reconciled to God, we have that same ministry of reconciling others, as if God was "pleading through us", that others would come to understand His great love and gift of salvation!
When we are not ministering in the church: we suffer, the church suffers and the world suffers. We are all called to the ministry of reconciliation.
Encountering God Deeply "By Starting Over Again"
Instead of making hollow resolutions this year we probably won't keep anyway, why not decide to renew ourselves spiritually and let Christ's love compel us to rise to a greater, lasting life.
