Albert Einstein once said you don't understand something well enough until you can explain it simply. Something similar could be said about the gospel: you may not understand the good news of Jesus well enough if you don't see the necessity of unity and reconciliation. The good news is all about reconciliation: Jesus bringing us back from our rebellion and sin to God through the cross. The disciple, pastor, and writer in the early church Paul knew this, and he puts it this way: we have been given a ministry of reconciliation. What might it look like to take this seriously? In this message, Pastor Joel tells the story of Philemon and Onesimus, a slave and master whom Paul worked to reconcile across even the terrible chasm of slavery. For Paul, we find, reconciliation means hard work, and has to flow first out of Christlike character, which Paul describes in detail in another letter and which Pastor Joel practically walks through to close the message.
Sermon Passage: 2 Corinthians 5:16-6:2
Outrage is shaping our culture and even discipling people, often disguised as righteousness. But the Church was never called to carry outrage. We were entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation. In this episode, we expose how reaction and intensity can replace true spiritual maturity, and why that undermines mission, disciple-making, and real Kingdom impact. Through 2 Corinthians 5, we return to the assignment of Jesus: not just calling out what is wrong, but participating in God's restoring work.If we are going to be a mobilized Church, we cannot be formed by outrage. We must be formed by the Spirit of Christ.

In part, our identity in Christ is embracing the fact that we were born for reconciliation, where we pursue kingdom justice as the ultimate result. In this message, Kris Vallotton unpacks what justice looks like in the kingdom of God and the essential role of forgiveness and reconciliation in that process. Jesus is the author of true justice, and as His image-bearers, we are designed to reflect it. What does it look like on this side of eternity? How are believers to navigate the moments leading up to justice? As we rediscover the power of forgiveness and the ministry of reconciliation entrusted to us, we pray you are equipped and encouraged to walk out your faith with confidence in the finished work of the Cross, reflecting the heart and nature of Christ in every area of your life. , , , , , Kingdom Justice, ,

What if your life wasn't just forgiven - but completely transformed? In this powerful message from 2 Corinthians 5:14–21, we explore the life-changing truth of reconciliation - how God restores our relationship with Him through a divine exchange, and then sends us out to do the same for others. At the centre of it all is this truth: Because of Jesus Christ… • He took our sin → so we could receive His righteousness • He was rejected → so we could be accepted • He was punished → so we could be forgiven This is more than self-improvement. This is new creation. And from that place of restoration, we're given a new identity: Ambassadors of reconciliation - carrying hope, healing, and the message of grace into the world around us. You don't have to earn it. You just have to receive it. Be reconciled to God—and step into your calling.
Wednesday – 03/18/2026 – The Ministry of Reconciliation
What happens when the gospel truly takes hold of a person's life? In 2 Corinthians 5:11–21, the apostle Paul shows us that the gospel doesn't simply improve us—it makes us new.Because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, our deepest motivations are transformed, our identity is completely renewed, and our purpose in the world is redefined. The love of Christ begins to control our lives, freeing us from living for ourselves and calling us to live for the One who died and was raised for us.Through Christ, we are made into a new creation. The old has passed away, and the new has come. As people who have been reconciled to God, we are now entrusted with the message of reconciliation and sent into the world as ambassadors for Christ. This message explores how the gospel reshapes our motivations, gives us a new identity in Christ, and calls us into a mission to proclaim God's reconciling grace to the world. For more information about Integrity Church, visit our website, http://liveintegritychurch.org Connect with us on social media throughout the week to stay up to date on events and things happening at Integrity! Paul states that we carry the ministry of reconciliation. What is this? And how do we carry it out?
Pastor David Carpenter teaches on how we have the best news ever- the ministry of reconciliation! Also, a word on prosperity.
In this episode, Sam continues the Multiply series by emphasizing that true discipleship means not only following Jesus personally but actively participating in the work of ministry everywhere believers live, work, and relate. Drawing from Ephesians 4 and 2 Corinthians 5, the message centers on identity in Christ—highlighting that every believer is called to the ministry of reconciliation and equipped to help build up the body of Christ. The episode explores spiritual maturity as being rooted in Jesus rather than shaped by circumstances, stresses the importance of speaking truth in love, and encourages identity-based transformation over mere behavior change. Practical insights from habit formation reinforce the call to align daily life, community, and small consistent actions with the new identity believers have as new creations in Christ.

Tell us what you think about this podcast! The Ministry of Reconciliation teaches that living for God and striving to live sin-free actively destroys sin's power in our lives, as outlined in Hebrews 10:1–18. God is serious about sin, and a disregard for His law affects our relationship with Him. Church exists for reconciliation, helping people be made right with God. Verses 16–17 describe the New Birth experience, where God writes His laws on our hearts, and verse 18 shows that Christ's sacrifice removed the need for continual reconciliation for sin.For more lessons and sermons, follow our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@GBT
Paul shows how belonging to Christ changes everything—how we see people, what we're called to do, and what we're called to say. At the heart of the gospel is reconciliation: God reconciling the world to himself through Christ, and calling us to be his ambassadors.

This Sunday we'll see how his birth, life, and death also has the power to resolve our Second Greatest Problem -- alienation from each other.

In this episode of The Mountain Podcast, Samuel Goulet continues on week 5 on the theme of “Design & Purpose,” emphasizing that every believer is made to share Christ with others. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:11–21, he explains that receiving Christ naturally leads to giving Christ, and that the love of Jesus should be the controlling force in our lives, freeing us from fear, resentment, and selfishness. Samuel outlines five practical ways to live out this calling—intercession, evangelism, counsel, edification, and restoration—encouraging listeners to be active ministers of reconciliation, to build up and restore others, and to let the love of Christ mobilize them to serve and impact those around them.
God has made peace with you through Jesus. You didn't deserve it. You didn't earn it. But it's true none-the-less. God made a two-way agreement with you where one side provided all of the collateral. And through it, he created reconciliation between you and God. But it comes with future expectations. If you are at peace with God, then you are to help other people come to peace with God. You are Christ's ambassadors and you carry the ministry of reconciliation. So don't go starting wars. Don't go picking fights. Don't go needling opposition. Jesus followers don't contribute to war — we contribute to peace. Your job is to help people get right with God just like Jesus worked to get people right with God.

In this episode (remastered) we conclude our study through James. We examine James 5:19-20 about rescuing those who have strayed from the truth—calling believers to examine evidence of genuine faith, reach out in love, and bring sinners back to salvation. The lesson emphasizes personal responsibility in the ministry of reconciliation, the danger of spiritual drifting, and the eternal stakes of saving a soul from death.

Samuel teaches about the importance of prayer, especially intercession, explaining that it starts with personal connection to God and extends to praying for others. He uses biblical examples to show that everyone is called to intercede, encouraging listeners to persist in prayer for others until spiritual growth and unity with Jesus are achieved.
From 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, Joshua explores what being a new creation looks like, and how we are called to the ministry of reconciliation.
