Solus Christus, Soli Fide, and Sola Gratia. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
What is the gospel? We believe that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Solus Christus, Soli Fide, and Sola Gratia. How critical are these three "solas" or "onlys" to the gospel message?
Hebrejom 7,1-10 1 Tento Melchisedek, kráľ Šalému, kňaz najvyššieho Boha, vyšiel v útrety Abrahámovi, keď sa Abrahám vracal z porážky kráľov, a požehnal ho. 2 A Abrahám mu zo všetkého dal desiatok. On, ktorý vykonáva kráľovské kňazstvo, stojí medzi Abrahámom a Bohom.
The sermon presents a comprehensive exposition of the five solas—Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria—as foundational truths of the Christian faith, rooted in Scripture and reaffirmed during the Reformation. It emphasizes that Scripture alone is the ultimate, inerrant authority for faith and practice, revealing that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, not by human merit or tradition. The message underscores the exclusivity of Christ as the only mediator and means of salvation, rejecting pluralistic views of religion, and affirms that all things exist for the glory of God alone. Through a careful examination of key passages in Romans, Ephesians, Galatians, and other biblical texts, the sermon calls believers to a life of humble submission, where every aspect of faith and conduct is directed toward honoring God's sovereignty, grace, and eternal glory.

The 5 Solas - Sola Gratia
A new MP3 sermon from Christ Church Presbyterian is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: Sola Gratia — Gracia Solamente Subtitle: The Five Solas Speaker: John Blevins III Broadcaster: Christ Church Presbyterian Event: Sunday - AM Date: 10/19/2025 Bible: Ephesians 2:1-10 Length: 32 min.
Why does doctrine exist, and what's at stake when we get it wrong? We trace the Reformation's roots and work through two of the five solas — faith alone and grace alone — showing how both doctrines shape the worship and community culture at Covenant of Grace.
Sola gratia means “by grace alone”: salvation is God's free gift, not something we earn by works or merit. In this sermon, Pastor Kudzo emphasizes that our hope rests entirely on God's mercy in Christ, calling us to humility, gratitude, and trust rather than self-reliance. Be blessed by this sermon as you listen and share.
This episode is part of a series of discussions between me, Gavin Ortlund, and Michael Horton, on the theology and history of the Reformation in response to common critiques.
Modern Conservatism is collapsing, and it isn't because of the Left. It's because the Right has abandoned biblical order, biblical loyalty, and biblical leadership. In this episode of Uncommon Sense, I'm examining how our so-called conservative leaders have traded Christianity for political convenience, elevating foreign loyalties, unbiblical theology, and female authority over God's clearly established design. When prominent figures openly choose Judaism over Christianity and Israel over America, we must ask: What exactly are we conserving anymore?Scripture is clear: Christianity is a patriarchy with God as its Head, Christ as King, and men called to lead in righteousness. A movement that rejects this order will inevitably rot from the inside out. This episode is a call to return to:Christ over cultureFaith over foreign allegianceGod's elect over globalist prioritiesBiblical men over platformed female personalitiesIf Conservatism wants to survive, it must first repent.--https://www.bible.com/

The Reformation rediscovered the five SOLAs: Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria. The Reformation began with Martin Luther's 95 Theses, intended to reform the church, addressing issues like indulgences and simony. The formal cause of the Reformation was Sola Scriptura, emphasizing the Bible's authority over the Church. The material cause was salvation by faith in Christ alone.Romans 1:16-17 highlights the Gospel as God's power for salvation through faith. The bad news is mankind is ungodly and unrighteous, suppressing the truth (Romans 1:18-20, 3:10-18). Man's heart is evil, dead in sin, and by nature, children of wrath (Genesis 3:6, 6:3; Ephesians 2). No one is justified by works of the law (Romans 3:19). Man cannot save himself.Righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:21). All have sinned and fall short of God's glory, but are justified by grace through Christ's redemption. Abraham's faith was counted as righteousness (Romans 4). God declares sinners legally innocent through justification, a gift based on faith, not works. Justification through faith in Christ brings peace with God (Romans 5).Jesus' parable of the Pharisee and tax collector illustrates justification by faith (Luke 18). God's name, Jehovah Tsidkenu, means "The Lord our righteousness" (Jeremiah 23:6). In contrast, Romanism/Eastern Orthodoxy views justification as a lifelong process involving works. They believe in infused righteousness and reject imputed righteousness. Catholics believe believers can obtain merit through good works produced by grace. The Protestant view is that a sinner is justified, God's righteousness is imputed, then sanctification occurs, followed by glorification. The Romanist view is that baptism infuses righteousness, but sin returns, requiring works and sacraments. The "treasury of merit" is unbiblical. Almsgiving does not cover sins. The Mass involves re-sacrificing Jesus, contradicting Hebrews. God justifies the ungodly (Romans 8). Works mark salvation but do not merit it. Professing Jesus is not enough; one must possess Him and be born again.Cardinal Barron's view on salvation for non-Christians is questioned, contrasting it with Jesus's statement in John 14:6. Galatians 2:15-16 emphasizes justification through faith in Jesus Christ, not works of the law. Faith plus works equals salvation is man-centered, while faith equals salvation plus works is God-centered. Justification by works is the essence of every false religion.#SolaFide #Reformation #MartinLuther #FaithAlone #FiveSolas #Justification #GraceAlone #Theology #Christianity #Gospel

In this Reformation Day episode of The Valley Life Podcast, Pastors Vinnie and Brandon revisit the heart of the Protestant Reformation through the Five Solas: Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria. Together they explore how each truth stands in contrast to the teachings of Rome, why they still matter today, and how these doctrines shape our faith and daily walk with Christ. From the authority of Scripture to living for God's glory alone, this conversation calls believers to anchor their hope and worship in the finished work of Christ.

No vino a mejorarte, sino a recrearte. No vino a motivarte, sino a resucitarte.
Fr. Sean and Fr. John unpack the Five Solas of the Reformation — Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria — and explore how the Catholic Church understands grace, faith, and our cooperation with God.
Send us a textWhat if the most life-changing power isn't something you earn, but something you receive? We open with a rapid tour of the Five Solas and then linger on grace alone—the unmerited favor of God that meets us in our mess and remakes us from the inside out. A youth ministry turkey-bowling fiasco becomes a living parable: where you expect judgment, grace listens, instructs, and restores. That story sets the tone for a journey through Romans, Ephesians, John, and Acts, showing why salvation is a gift, not wages, and how grace breaks sin's dominion without turning a blind eye to holiness.Together we trace the line from the mercy seat in the wilderness to Jesus Christ, where grace and truth embrace. We explore how Scripture, not tradition, anchors our confidence; why “shall we continue in sin?” still demands a clear “by no means”; and how humble communities correct with gentleness, not pride. Along the way, Judas and Paul stand as stark contrasts—one who let small compromises bloom into betrayal, and one who learned to boast in weakness so that Christ's power could rest on him. The early church's “great grace” wasn't a slogan; it was a lived reality that fueled bold testimony, radical generosity, and resilient hope.If you've wrestled with church hurt, felt stuck in old patterns, or wondered whether God is still good when answers feel slow, this conversation is for you. We offer three clear takeaways: grace reminds us of our brokenness, grace reminds us of God's goodness, and grace compels us to encounter God personally. Expect practical counsel, honest self-examination, and a call to extend the same grace you've received—at home, at work, and in your church family. If this encouraged you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs hope, and leave a quick review to help more people discover the power of grace.Cornerstonehttps://www.cornerstoneaz.org/Follow Jesushttps://www.cornerstoneaz.org/follow-...Life Groups https://www.cornerstoneaz.org/life-gr...Giving https://cornerstoneaz.churchcenter.co...Church Center App - Download then add Cornerstone Christian Center in Avondale, AZiOShttps://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-ch...Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...----Instagram cornerstoneaz Facebook cornerstoneaz.org Twitter cornerstoneaz.org
In Pt. 4 of the Faithful Foundations series: The Solas of the Reformation, Pastor John Murphy taught that salvation is not something we can earn or deserve—it is entirely a gift of God's grace through the finished work of Christ. From Ephesians 2:1–10, he reminded us that apart from Christ we are spiritually dead, enslaved to sin, and unable to save ourselves—dead people can't fix themselves. But God, rich in mercy and great in love, made us alive with Christ; we are saved by grace, not by our works. Pastor John warned that both religious performance (“I can earn God's favor”) and self-sufficiency (“I don't need grace”) reject the gospel's core truth. Salvation is a free gift to be received, not achieved. Grace produces humility, worship, and obedience—not to earn love, but in response to the love already given. As Pastor John concluded, “Grace isn't opposed to effort, it's opposed to earning.” We are God's workmanship, saved by grace alone to display His immeasurable kindness and live lives of grateful worship.

Randall Woodard from Winterville Baptist Church begins the week of studying the 5 Solas with Sola Gratia. (Grace Alone)
The philosopher George Santayana once said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” While many would agree, few have considered how this truth applies to the message of Christianity. Just 500 years ago, foundational truths like the authority of Scripture, the work of Christ, salvation by faith, the free gift of grace, and the glory of God were not only questioned but worse – they were being deliberately distorted. Much of what was preached had very little to do with Christ and the message proclaimed by the church was not good news at all. However, in 1517, by God's grace, a movement called the Reformation began to bring these truths back into focus. Luther, along with others, clarified and defended the core doctrines of the Christian faith with five essential truths that still shape the church today: Scripture alone, Christ alone, Faith alone, Grace alone, and God's glory alone. If we forget them, take them for granted, or fail to defend them, we'll risk spreading a version of Christianity that is no longer centered on Christ or filled with good news. Even worse, we'll miss God's intended design for the message of the gospel and miss Him in the process.

Send us a textIn this episode of The FORGE Truth Podcast, Pete Alwinson and Jayson Quiñones dive into the powerful doctrine of Sola Gratia, Grace Alone. Together they explore why salvation cannot be earned by good works, why grace is essential for spiritually dead people, and how God's unmerited favor transforms lives. They also tackle common misunderstandings about grace, its tension with works, and how men can experience the freedom that comes from knowing God's grace is greater than their past mistakes.
This week we dive into Acts 15 and the powerful moment in Church history when early believers confronted what it really means to belong. As Paul, Barnabas, Peter, and James wrestled with legalism and tradition, the Jerusalem Council boldly declared that salvation comes by grace alone—not by outward signs or cultural conformity. We explore how this turning point redefined the Church as a place of radical inclusion, anchored in the Gospel and led by the Spirit. Through it, we're challenged to tear down modern-day barriers and remember that Christ alone is enough. No matter your background or story, the invitation to the table is wide open—because grace doesn't just welcome you, it unites us all.Support the show
