What if the difference between the life you have and the life you want comes down to a single word? In this episode of Rock Your Brain, Rock Your Life, we sat down with Case Kenny, host of the podcast New Mindset, Who Dis?, keynote speaker, and best-selling author. With two degrees in languages, which is where the obsession with words traces back to, he has grown into one of the most listened to self-improvement shows out there, including an Apple Podcasts top 30 show. You'll hear Case redefine optimism in a way that has nothing to do with butterflies and rainbows. Real optimism, he argues, is the belief that things can change. People can change, emotions can change, industries can change, and so can you. He shares how he rebranded patience as faith because patience felt too passive for his ambition, and how that single reframe became a quiet anchor through years of building his company.Case opens up about the moment he quit his cozy senior sales job after eight years to become an e- commerce entrepreneur. How he experienced hockey stick growth selling guided journals using paid ads, and then watched the Apple iOS privacy changes nearly take his e-commerce business down while he was cutting $300K inventory checks. He talks honestly about rejection (which he says is 80% of the work of being an entrepreneur, even with close to 2 million followers), about the "end of history illusion" that tricks us into thinking we're done evolving, and why the least permanent thing about yourself is yourself. If you've ever felt the tension between ambition and peace, between grinding and trusting, this conversation will give you the words and the reframes to hold both. Press play. Grab a red felt pen and a piece of paper. You'll be taking notes within minutes. Changing your mindset and beginning to think in a new way is not just about learning & repeating the new thoughts. It often comes with an internal battle that no one really talks about, feeling like you are arguing with yourself. In this episode I (Carly Ann) explore what it feels like when you are trying to grow, but your mind keeps arguing with you, doubting you, or pulling you back into old patterns. You might notice two parts of you showing up at the same time. One part wants change and another part does not fully trust it yet. This inner conflict can feel confusing, frustrating, and discouraging, but it is a normal part of building self-esteem and shifting long held beliefs.I also share practical therapist informed tools and self help techniques to help you start calming that internal argument, strengthen new ways of thinking, and build more trust in yourself over time.If you are in the middle of change and it feels hard - save this ep or listen right nowLinks below:Work with Carly AnnFREE: Self-Worth RESETJoin NewsletterJoin my Telegram HERE

Now an acclaimed podcaster (New Mindset, Who Dis?), Case shares three stories from his early life about being wrong, and how he slowly learns what's right for him. Send us Fan MailNonprofits can turn fundraising events into more efficient, donor-friendly, revenue-generating experiences that support long-term growth. Most events are full of potential, but this learning session makes it clear that the strongest galas are no longer built around chaos, long lines, and overworked staff. In this energizing conversation, Justin Goodhew, Co-Founder and CEO of Trellis, makes the case that event success is not just about what happens in the ballroom. It starts before the event with better use of donor data, stronger integration with internal systems, and smarter choices about where staff time should go. He explains that many organizations stop doing galas not because events no longer matter, but because the process drains team capacity. By simplifying check-in, reducing friction, and using technology that connects with existing CRM and finance systems, nonprofits can free staff and volunteers to focus on donor relationships rather than administrative bottlenecks. He also brings a strong business lens to revenue strategy. Instead of piling on low-yield activities that consume time, Justin encourages nonprofits to focus on the highest net return, such as paddle raises, major auction items, and thoughtfully designed upsell options. As he puts it, “We're actually really a fundraising and a donor retention platform disguised as an event platform.” That perspective shifts the conversation from event logistics to donor value and lifetime engagement. One of the key takeaways is Justin's emphasis on what happens after the event. Fast follow-up, integrated donor data, and immediate action are what turn a one-night attendee into a future supporter. He also shares that strategic auction upsells can produce “about 6 to 7% increase in revenue” simply by giving donors another easy, mission-aligned way to give. This session is a smart reminder that nonprofit events do not need to disappear. They need to evolve. With the right systems, intentional design, and a stronger focus on donor experience, galas can become more productive, more profitable, and far more sustainable for nonprofit teams! 00:00:00 Welcome 00:02:24 What Trellis.org Does for Nonprofit Events 00:04:29 Growing Event Revenue With Limited Staff 00:06:32 Faster Check-In and Better Donor Experience 00:12:40 Turning One-Night Guests Into Long-Term Donors 00:16:04 Modern Event Upselling That Increases Revenue 00:17:41 Why Paddle Raises Matter So Much 00:24:01 Why Tech-First Events Are Outperforming Traditional Models 00:26:23 Less Staff Strain More Mission Engagement 00:28:10 A New Mindset for Nonprofit Events #TheNonprofitShow #NonprofitFundraising #EventStrategyFind us Live daily on YouTube!Find us Live daily on LinkedIn!Find us Live daily on X: @Nonprofit_ShowOur national co-hosts and amazing guests discuss management, money and missions of nonprofits! 12:30pm ET 11:30am CT 10:30am MT 9:30am PTSend us your ideas for Show Guests or Topics: HelpDesk@AmericanNonprofitAcademy.comVisit us on the web:The Nonprofit Show

If you're exhausted from replaying conversations, second-guessing your choices, and filtering your personality through “what will they think?” - this episode will help.I'm joined by Jordanna Bornensztajn (comedian, communication expert, keynote speaker) to unpack the real reason so many high-functioning people feel stuck: fear of judgment. We talk about why judgment is the #1 fear she sees in workshops, why most of the “pressure” you feel is actually self-generated, and the mindset shift that instantly loosens its grip: stop making it about you. We also get into how confidence is built through messy action (not certainty), why your brain treats social risk like physical danger, and how to use embarrassment and failure as fuel instead of proof that you're “behind.”This episode will change your life by changing your relationship with judgment.Jordanna is a comedian, communication expert, keynote speaker, and public speaking coach. Guest: Paul Burleson – Sales Strategist & Consultant, Westlake Royal Building ProductsGuest Links: Website: https://www.westlakeroyalbuildingproducts.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/remodelingrockstar LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/paul-burleson-34464a43/ This episode explores the evolution of roofing and home improvement sales, tracing how the industry moved from high-pressure, scripted closing tactics to modern, consultative systems built on trust, psychology, and simplicity. It explains why relying solely on insurance proceeds limits both customer outcomes and contractor profitability, and how reframing sales around homeowner needs creates stronger closes and longer-term relationships. The episode breaks down why rigid, overcomplicated sales systems often fail at scale, how unnecessary steps kill momentum, and why elite sales teams learn to read buying signals instead of blindly following scripts. It dives into objection handling early in the process, the importance of uncovering the true reason a homeowner called, and why asking better questions consistently outperforms talking more. The discussion also covers how homeowners now arrive educated through AI tools, why sales professionals must reclaim expert positioning through preparation and product mastery, and how affirming buyers instead of fighting them increases trust. The episode examines mindset shifts that separate average salespeople from top performers, including viewing sales as service, understanding the emotional impact of home improvement decisions, and recognizing the responsibility to protect homeowners from poor outcomes. It also unpacks the concept of “the better the show, the better the dough,” explaining how storytelling, humor, personalization, and even pet acknowledgment reduce anxiety and increase engagement. The episode concludes by showing how modern sales success comes from simplification, empathy, and repeatable systems that allow teams not just individuals to win consistently in an increasingly competitive market.
New Year, New Mindset.Scripture: Romans 12:2—“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”Many people cross into a new year carrying the same thoughts, the same fears, the same limits, and the same discouragements from the last one. The calendar changes—but the mindset doesn't. If the mind stays the same, the direction stays the same.Accept Jesus Today: https://youtube.com/shorts/bIwAUlz7Kg4?si=BNOhv44iLWIR4eVJIf you would like to accept Jesus into your heart today, pray this simple prayer:****God, I have sinned against You. I believe that Jesus is Your Son, who died and rose for my sake. I ask you to forgive me for my sin. I place my trust in You for salvation. I receive you as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name, I am forgiven! Amen!"****Congratulations! You are now a child of the most high. John 1:12 says, But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. Suffering exposes what we believe about God faster than success ever could. When affliction lingers, disappointment goes unresolved, and growth feels slower than we want, the question isn't whether God is present—it's whether our theology can carry the weight of real life. Too many believers inherit a framework that collapses under pressure, leaving them confused, bitter, or quietly disillusioned. This week on Win Today, Dr. Craig Keener joins me to rebuild a theology of suffering that can endure. We talk about why God is not in a hurry to mature us, how pressure actually forms spiritual resilience, and what it looks like to develop a mindset about affliction that produces endurance rather than erosion. This conversation doesn't minimize pain—it gives it meaning. If you're suffering, stalled, or carrying disappointment you haven't known how to name, this episode will help you reframe affliction as formation and discover the kind of maturity that only pressure can produce. Guest Bio Dr. Craig Keener is a leading New Testament scholar, historian, and theologian whose work has shaped global conversations on Scripture, the Holy Spirit, miracles, and suffering. He has authored dozens of academic and popular-level books and has taught and lectured internationally, bringing rigorous scholarship together with pastoral sensitivity and lived faith. In this thought-provoking episode of Mindset Mastery Moments, Dr. Alisa Whyte sits down with Dr. Rachel Laryea, a Yale-trained PhD anthropologist and founder of Kelewele, whose work challenges the dominant narratives of wealth, power, and capitalism. Together, they explore what it truly means to reshape economic systems in a way that honors culture, community, and collective well-being.Dr. Laryea shares her remarkable journey from Wall Street's fast-paced financial sector to the deeply intentional world of anthropology and ethical entrepreneurship. She reveals how her Ghanaian heritage, academic research, and lived experiences inspired her to create a business rooted in community-centered economics — one that redefines success beyond individual achievement.Throughout their powerful conversation, Dr. Alisa and Dr. Laryea unpack the complex relationship between race, wealth, and access, highlighting the ways traditional capitalist frameworks often leave marginalized communities behind. They examine how entrepreneurship can become a tool for liberation when built with cultural integrity, shared value, and an abundance mindset at its core. This episode illuminates the importance of shifting from scarcity to collaboration, from extraction to empowerment, and from individual gain to collective advancement. Dr. Laryea offers a refreshing, necessary perspective on what ethical entrepreneurship looks like — and why cultural roots can be a catalyst for economic innovation.

This is a fan fav episode. Relationships can be really fun and exciting, and they can also get a bit messy, awkward and questionable. Even after investing years of your life. Pop quiz for the ladies still searching for the right relationship and for the ones questioning the relationship they're in now, and you have to be totally honest. Have you chosen the wrong relationship because it beat the idea of being alone? At least you weren't the single friend, or the one that walked away first. Can you think of someone you dated that clearly only happened because you lowered your standards enough? Has the thought of starting over and walking away from a relationship that obviously had no future kept you in an unhealthy, unhappy, and unfulfilling relationship way past the expiration date? If you answered yes to any of these questions and smirked thinking about your friend, sister, or cousin that would be a HELL YEAH to one or more of these questions, then you're in for a treat. Today's guest, Case Kenny, is one of the most influential voices of reason for millennials, an internet entrepreneur and the host of the podcast, New Mindset, Who Dis? Case is talking with Lisa and shares why being alone isn't just 1000% better than settling for the wrong person, it's freaking dangerous! Irrational fear of being alone and the stigma that comes with it jeopardizes you being your happiest most vibrant self. Watch the YouTube version of this episode HEREAre you looking for some tips on changing your mindset for the better? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, Tyson interviews John Kormanik, a former trial attorney turned coach, about his journey overcoming limiting beliefs and the power of mindset. Tyson and John talk about the importance of mindset shifts when it comes to growth and success. For John, this involved thinking about how lucky he was to do certain things and to have a choice in the life he is living. This really shifted his relationships with his family as well as how he viewed himself. Mindset shifts are important for growth and success. Having a negative mindset can affect how your life moves forward. If you want to grow and succeed, you have to have the mindset necessary to reach that.John shares his insights on self-criticism and the effect it can have on people. Being self-critical and hard on yourself can really affect your mental health. The key is to show up and do the work for yourself. Attorneys in particular are risk averse and learn not to take the leap and keep things safe. Because of this, many are self-critical and don't think they are good enough. To get over this, it is important to think about what will happen if you fail and if you don't. Think about what the worst case scenario is and if it really will impact you in the long run. Most times, things are not as bad as you think, so letting things go a little bit can really save you from yourself.Listen in to learn more!6:48 How a mindset shift impacts personal growth17:29 John explains his coaching process28:00 How harsh self-criticism can cost opportunities 32:39 Discussion on how upbringing sets mental limits41:39 Advice for those unsure of their focusTune in to today's episode and checkout the full show notes here.
