It has been a brutal year for developers in the video game industry. Massive layoffs from Activision Blizzard, EA, and ArenaNet, the collapse of Telltale Studios…well over a thousand people suddenly out of work. Then we have the phenomenon known as "crunch." It is pervasive, with developers working 14-hour days for weeks and months on end to meet the unrealistic deadlines of publishers and shareholders. Letztes Jahr mussten die Adventure-Profis Telltale aufgrund einer wirtschaftlichen Schieflage die Segel streichen. Jetzt feiert das Studio hinter Serien wie THE WALKING DEAD, TALES FROM THE BORDERLANDS oder GAME OF THRONES die Wiederauferstehung. Zumindest dem Namen nach. LCG Entertainment heißt die Firma, die sich die Markenrechte an Telltale und einigen Lizenzen gesichert hat. Darunter die lizenzfreien Original-Entwicklungen von Telltale sowie ein paar bereits existierende Serien wie THE WOLF AMONG US oder BATMAN. Man wolle den Geist und das Vermächtnis des Studios fortführen heißt, ebenso sollen einige Ur-Mitarbeiter zumindest als Freelancer eingestellt werden.
