In this episode of Truth From The Stand, I sit down with my buddy Tyler Jones to talk about life, hunting, and the lessons that tie them together. We get into the joys and struggles of parenting — from youth sports to that bittersweet moment when kids start stepping into adulthood — and how those same lessons apply in the deer woods. Tyler and I swap stories about hunting around cornfields, building a calculated approach for early season sits, and staying mentally sharp when the hunt doesn't go your way. We dig into travel hunts, reading new terrain, and setting realistic expectations so you can enjoy the process instead of obsessing over the outcome. More than anything, this one is about humility, perspective, and letting hunting shape who we are — in the timber and at home. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM PODCAST 460 Be present and engaged with your kids as they grow. Adapt hunting strategies and life plans as circumstances change. Observation and patience are key to both parenting and hunting. Early season success requires a calculated, disciplined approach. Serving others and staying humble builds lasting fulfillment. Our inspirational guest Calvin Bagley had to be positively gritty multiple times throughout his life. He grew up in a household of abuse and isolated from the rest of the world. He received a mission call at age 19, while still struggling with English. Despite this, he had to also learn Portuguese in two months. A few years later, he was provided an ample opportunity to attend UNLV even with a low ACT score and only a GED. He ended up graduating with a business degree at age 34, which he used to start his own company Nuvo Health. Tune in to the Living Full Out show to hear how Calvin finally gained acceptance from his father. Perhaps you have a disease that makes you unable to complete daily tasks. Degens Andy S and Brandon Bombay pick up some cans of silly string and pizzas to enjoy a wild night talking about 'Big.' Andy kicks things off by telling a story about a one night stand that ended abruptly after the girl walked into his man-child cave room adorned that showcased his affinity for comics. Then the fellas decide to give another beloved child's movie the Degen treatment, and discuss Penny Marshall's 1988 film. This starts with the guys pitching gritty remakes, and imagining how the story of a child turning into a man overnight, and heading to downtown New York in the '80s would work out for him in the real world. Afterwards, they get to the cherished coming-of-age romp which was really just a nearly two-hour showcase for Tom Hanks' star potential, as he hams it up. Sure, his depiction of an 11-year-old interacting with adults is more reminiscent of a toddler, but the film does nail the fact of young guys throwing their friends under the bus to get their hands on some boobies.

The 49ers' home opener against the Arizona Cardinals brought plenty of twists and turns as San Francisco emerged victorious to maintain its undefeated start with a thrilling 16-15 win. Kicker Eddy Piñeiro's game-winning field goal and Mac Jones' clinical two-minute drive got the 49ers over the hump in a gutsy win, improving San Francisco to 3-0 in the 2025 season. The win didn't come without its costs as star defensive end Nick Bosa exited the game with an apparent knee injury. Michigan leaves Lincoln with a gritty W—but it wasn't pretty. In this post-game breakdown, we unpack a sloppy night on both sides of the ball and why that might actually be a good thing for a young team learning to win on the road. Bryce Underwood didn't have his best outing and he's still developing, but the ground game carried the load behind standout performances from Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall. We also get into the wide receivers—separation, drops, and why this group has to level up fast. Bottom line: hostile environment, tough snaps, real growth. This is the kind of game that builds confidence for the long haul.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

It's another offseason edition of The Hockey Show, and Roy, David, Rose, and Ethan kick it off by discussing which teams have upgraded and which teams have downgraded by changing their logos over the years. The gang's wins and fails of the week include Jaromir Jagr still going strong, Gritty throwing axes, Rose's new Caitlin Clark jersey, and The Athletic ranking Sam Bennett's contract as one of the worst in the NHL. Then, Mr. Devil himself, Ken Daneyko, joins the show to tell us more about the brand new 3ICE League that he is coaching in. The gang also asks him about the similarities between his New Jersey Devils and the current version of the Florida Panthers, as well as how he spent his time with the Stanley Cup after each of his three Cup wins.
