In the latest episode of Small Market Bias, host Paul Garcia discussed the following topics: (00:58) The San Antonio Spurs fell in Game 2 of the NBA Finals in crunch time, allowing the New York Knicks to not only take a 2-0 series lead, but to do so in San Antonio. (05:44) The Spurs' offense once again struggled against the Knicks' defense, scoring only 104 points on the night. Victor Wembanyama had a strong second half, but in crunch time, he had a critical turnover and missed his final two contested shots down the stretch. (12:43) The Spurs held the Knicks to 105 points on the night, but in a game decided by one point, there were some factors that stood out, like the Knicks' outside shooting and offensive rebounding in the fourth quarter. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way for the Knicks as he continues to present problems for the Spurs' defense. (19:09) Looking ahead to Game 3 on Monday as the series shifts to New York, where the Spurs need to find some adjustments that can help them get their first win of the series in Game 3. Our key message today is that the promise of the Strait of Hormuz re-opening following the ceasefire that was announced just about two months ago is giving way to an entrenched stalemate that suggests company executives and investors should brace for both the opportunity and turmoil that comes from big jumps in oil prices but also the inevitable pullbacks that follow as supply/demand clears. We expect that process of super volatility to be a repeatable feature of the current era. While high volatility is often thought of as depressing equity valuations, which is true, it also will depress the instinct by companies to spend capital, which in turn will prove supportive of profitability. How best to value volatile cash flows in publicly-traded equities is always a challenge and a theme we will continue to focus on.We are including the link to the ZeroHedge webinar Arjun did with Jeff Currie as discussed (here).0:00 Introduction 1:40 ZeroHege “Oil Debate” With Jeff Currie 5:56 Valuing Oil-Exposed Equities In A Super Vol Macro Backdrop 8:06 OPEC Meeting Takeaways 10:34 On A Personal Note

"Crunch Time" - Doug Self - 5/17/2026 by Orchard Audio Ministry
Arsenal head into their final home game of the Premier League season knowing the equation is simple: two wins from two.In this Match Preview episode, the panel look ahead to Burnley's visit to the Emirates with the title race entering its decisive stage. The conversation covers Arsenal's growing injury concerns, the ongoing right-back dilemma following Ben White's setback, and how Mikel Arteta could structure his midfield with Martin Ødegaard, Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Myles Lewis-Skelly all part of the discussion. There's debate around Arsenal's pressure heading into the game, whether goal difference still matters at this stage of the title race, and why the Burnley fixture may not be the straightforward assignment the league table suggests. The panel also discuss Bukayo Saka's fitness management, William Saliba training separately, Riccardo Calafiori's latest injury concerns, and whether Arsenal are entering the final weeks of the season at full strength or simply surviving physically. Elsewhere, the show previews Aston Villa vs Liverpool and Newcastle vs West Ham, including discussion around Unai Emery's balancing act between league football and a European final, Eddie Howe's future at Newcastle, and the growing pressure around the Premier League's race for European places. The episode also includes another edition of “Who Am I?”, a Burnley-themed Six Pack, discussion around Arsenal's Monday night scheduling frustration, and reflections on the atmosphere expected at the Emirates for a potentially defining night in the title race. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. US bureau chief Jacob Magid joins host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode. US President Donald Trump celebrated the rescue operation for a downed US airman in Iranian territory, reports Magid, offering new details of the daring operation that included significant sabotage against Iranian forces, and a contingency plan in which the rescue teams had to assemble helicopters on the spot. It's crunch time for talks with Iran, Magid discusses, as Trump offered a deadline with his threat to blow up every bridge and power plant on Tuesday night if Iran doesn't accept the US proposal for a deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. A Friday deadline also looms for Hamas with a phased disarmament plan over eight months, says Magid, as Nikolai Mladenov, the High Representative for the Board of Peace, issued his own ultimatum to the terrorist group.
